Quotes of the day
posted at 9:30 pm on November 8, 2009 by Allahpundit
“Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, ‘Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit’ Democratic voters ‘and it will encourage the extremists.’”
***
“And, in fact, the new president and Congress had a real opportunity to divide the Republican Party. A moderate stimulus bill that offered a short-term boost and included a meaningful tax-cut component, for instance, might have won a very significant number of Republican votes in Congress last winter and launched a damaging internal GOP battle over the proper role of the opposition. Some restraint on taxes and spending in general, and on health care and energy policy in particular, would also have divided congressional Republicans and left the direction of the party in doubt.
“But Washington Democrats chose a different route. While they have been peddling the story of Republican self-immolation, they have actually been creating the conditions for a Republican resurgence. President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid have launched the country on a course of massive spending, a dramatic expansion of government, and a slew of new taxes in the midst of a recession. Finding themselves in control of Congress and the White House and so possessed of an unusual opportunity to pursue their ideological agenda, they have sought to make the most of it. But they have misjudged just how far to the left of the country as a whole the Democratic base now resides—and so, rather than strengthen their own brand, they have inadvertently done wonders to build and unify the Republican Party.”
***
“I’m trying to imagine the political environment that Washington Democrats occupy. A President glibly lays out that analogy, and it is received — without any wincing or taint of disgust — as awesome inspiration. These are the minds that will be making decisions for us for quite a while.”

They don’t give as damn about the short run. They’ve got 12 months left to “change” America… knowing full well that the GOP will NEVER “undo” what they’ve done… just modify it (see The New Deal and The Great Society)… which gives the Dems even more permanent dependents and more issues to accuse the GOp of wanting to “starve” in the future.

My President just called me a derogatory, offensive sexual slur because I disagree with his fiscal policy and exercised my 1st amendment rights to express that in a peaceful manner.

So, the guy who’s supposed to represent all the American people sees fit to refer to a large segment of them by a crude sexual epithet. Gee, Mr. Obama, I thought we had entered a new era in which lion and hyena stand together in a great and glorious future. A glorious new age of bipartisanship, shiny rainbows, and skittle-pooping unicorns. What gives, oh Anointed One?

I am convinced that the R’s wanted the D’s to win that vote. They could have voted against the abortion amendment (which does very little because most insurance plans cover abortions by law anyway).
If the R’s voted against the abortion amendment, then the bill would not have passed. They had to know that.
The Dems had to know that R’s couldn’t resist voting on an abortion thing.
It’s so blatant that I’m giving the R’s the benefit of the doubt. They want to run against their record of cutting 500B from Medicare to give to young healthy people, increasing the unfunded mandate for Medicaid to the states, and raises taxes to do it during a recession.
ThackerAgency on November 8, 2009 at 9:42 PM
When you’re really a hyper-sensitive politician, calling your political opponents degrading names is the height of political discourse. Or something.
And I was mocking the skittle crapping unicorn set last year. They were pissed. Now they’re very quiet. Mostly because several of them have lost their jobs.

Actually, think about it even more deeply. The Left claims that we want the status quo, which isn’t true, but let’s run with it for a moment.
You can now be an extremist for arguing for the status quo.
Makes you wonder what all those liberalitarians are thinking now. If defending the currently heavily regulated system is extremism, what does Obama think of libertarians who want to bring it all down?

Are we at the point yet where the voting non producers\non tax payers outnumber the voting producers\taxpayers? That is the goal…this is why the Founders didn’t give everyone a vote to begin with… I think to vote one should pay taxes and not take anything from the gov’t the minute one does…well that will never happen… This has truely been one miserable year!

No, or very few, moderates should be tolerated as GOP candidates in 2010. We need firm commitments from any candidate that they will work to overturn any of this America destroying legislation passed by the Dems. They must pursue maximum freedom and minimum government. We can no longer tolerate Republicans that aid and abet the democrats Leftis agenda.

If this manages to pass will we see a strong 10th Amendment movement rise in OK, TX, or some other strongly conservative and independent state? Will we Red Staters submit to the Left’s totalitarianism? I told my wife that I’d go to jail before I paid the government mandate for health insurance. She said that would be stupid and asked what she and the kids would do without me. Kind of sums up my thoughts on most Americans and that is very few are likely willing to actually defy the government and fight, really fight, for their freedoms.
DerKrieger on November 8, 2009 at 9:52 PM
I think you are correct about Obama – we will see how many Senators are willing to take such a risk.
This does though point out what was at stake in NY23. I am beyond the point of tolerance with “moderates” that want to slow the pace of the leftist agenda. The Republicans need to roll it back or what is the point?
Now, there is a valid argument about whether we are rolling the state back to 2008, or 1992 or what have you and we can accept these sort of of “moderates” but with what Obama is doing now we can no longer afford more McCains, Doles, Bushes, etc…

One of the great successes of the modern left is finding the weak points of the resistance to them, and you can see this in many areas:
1) The income tax. If people actually had to mail a check to the government every week/month/year for the total of their taxes, we would have a tax revolt and a race on the part of elected officials to lower taxes. The government instead hides how much you pay so that only the most politically motivated really pay attention.
2) Poverty pimps. Sharpton, Jackson, and their ilk live the high life by shaking down corporations. If a corporation does not pay the demanded blackmail, they will face bad press and lawsuits. Individuals may be willing to take a stand to defend their honor whatever the monetary factor, but corporations exist to earn money and the smarter short term solution is to give in…
etc…etc…

So if a crazed maniac leaps out shouting Allah Akbar and guns down dozens of unarmed people we have to be careful not to “jump to conclusions” and “wait for all the facts to come out” because it must be something we said to set him off and we can never know what the true motive for is actions was unless he has Glen Beck episodes saved on his TiVo.
However, if everyday Americans go down to their nation’s capital to talk to their representatives about the take over of our country’s health system we can be assured that these teabaggers are the most wicked evil scum to walk the earth who want their fellow Americans to die from lack of health care and force women into back alley abortions and they should be vilified and silenced.

Hey y’all. Havn’t been able to log in for a while. Computer problems – solved, I hope. Anywho, I think Obama’s weapons are not of human origin, i.e, he and his handlers derive their power to do and inflict evil from the evil one. Good news is, we can defeat him with our weapons, also not of human origin but vastly superior, deriving their power from God Almighty: prayer and fasting. Jesus told the disciples in Mark 17 that was the only way to drive the enemy out.
So, in addition to everything else we are doing, which is all good, mind you, we need to supercharge it in order to defeat the devil-in-cheif who sits in OUR Whitehouse. Could we all agree to say one prayer a day and fast on Fridays from something, like a meal, a soda, a cigarette, a cocktail, a fav t.v. show, meat or favorite poultry, or anything that would be a sacrifice, asking the Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, to drive out utterly every evil spirit and person doing their bidding. PS Let’s put speaking up for the unborn through insisting on a human life amendment from the CONSERTATIVES in 2010 along with the nullification of EVERYTHING Obama, such as Cap and Rob, Health Care, etc. I know I’ve said this before, but I will keep saying it because I really think it is at the root of our problem: I think 34 years of abortion has brought us, or about half of the country, to be able to vote for the filthy monster in the White House. Only through our Godly and righteous defense of those 40 million who have had no defense, and the millions more awaiting slaughter if we don’t finally stop it, will the Lord stand with us. THEN, the defeat of Obama and all of his ilk will be like watching dominoes fall. Will someone join me?

Yes, he is. And apparently half of our fellow citizens think that’s a fine quality in a president. As I look at history, at other malignant narcissists who rose to power through the adoration of an ignorant army of greedy, resentful misanthropes, I believe that this simply can’t end well.

American politics often has an uncanny resemblace to that of a pendulum, snapping back at those who have pushed to far. I am sincerely hoping that this will be the case in regards to the progressive agenda and the inevitable penuriuos subjagation that will result from it.
But the forces at work that have brought us to this precipice have toiled at this plow and sown these seeds of our destruction for generations. They will not readily cede their aspirations as the reckless abandon with which they now work shows their committment to it’s realization, consequences be damned. They will not go quietly into that good night.
No generational investment, not to mention the political capital now being wantonly expended, demonstrates that they will go to lenghts to secure their progressive hedgemony that most Americans cannot, or will not fathom. Those under the delusion that the electoral process will be allowed to correct this madness upon which we are embarked, will be in for a rude awakening in ’10 &’12. The progressive’s and the DNC of which they commandeered have surely noted the NJ & VA ’09 results, despite their protestations otherwise, and be it ACORN, SEIU, WFP or any other appendages of Soros’ many headed hydra, free and fair will not be how the upcomming races will be played out.
Whether through legislative over-reach or blatant voter fraud, the backlash of an indignant citizenery causes the pendulum to swing back violently and catch Reid, Pelosi, Obama & Co in its path is yet to be seen. I sincerely hope so.
Make no mistake about it, we are in a life and death struggle for the very concept of liberty and self determination. Once Reagan’s “Shining City on a Hill” and Lady Liberty’s torch flicker out, the illumination for all mankind will suffer.
“A constitution of government, once changed from freedom, can never be restored; liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”
John Adams

The only ray of sunshine I see in this wholly evil episode is that the dems have dropped the masks they’ve been masquerading behind for forty years. I pray the average joe’s will recognize the evil staring at them ,before it’s too late..One exception, Nan’s mask is permanent . We may have to blast to see what’s under all that plastic..Evil wins when good people do nothing..The cost of losing this fight will be everything.. Victory or slavery are the only choices we have left..IMHO.Something wicked this way comes.Actually it’s here and its started to devour our freedoms. Give me liberty or give me death. No quarter no mercy. Two hundred and thirty years of the greatest freedoms ever known by mankind and we’re going to bow down and let it be taken? Homey don’t play that…LET’S ROLL..AGHHHHHHHHH.

That man has made me so mad I made this video:
Jihad Today Names Barack Obama Man Of the Year
Aren’t you proud of President Obama for being named Jihad Today’s Man of the Year? It is an honor that is richly deserved.

I like that new word too

I just can’t say anything nice about him. It’s going to be really hard for me to accept he’s going to Ft. Hood this week too. He just doesn’t belong there. He should of been there already.

I am extremely tired of the tired tea references so from now on instead of referring to the tea party patriots as such, I will call us the “Tyranny Response Team”. I saw that on another post today and loved it.
Sincerely,
A Loyal Member of the Tyranny Response Team
or
the Tyranny Neutralizer Team (TNT)
However, Ms. Napolitano might question that euphemism!
