The NFL has become the perfect metaphor for life in the US.

Just as the book, “Three Felonies a Day” outlines how it is now quite possible that every American probably commits 3 felonies every day due to the overreaching of US justice, the NFL now seems that it can’t be played without the referees and umpires finding some sort of penalty in every play.

I’d say the worst of them all is that 15 yeard taunting penalty. How ridiculous. Maybe it if it was something outrageous but smack talk in someone’s face is second nature in a game as brutal as this.

I also don’t care for those extended celebration plays, who cares? There already is a delay of game penalty so if the cleberation goes long enough to warrant a delay of game then call it, otherwise chill out NFL.

WRT College ball, How can the replay officials get two wrong calls in the Ariz. State vs USC game. Even after an official review they got the calls wrong. Wat up with that?

You were right about Huston giving Indy everything it could handle. Those dropped passes didn’t help. Huston almost screwed the pooch letting the clock tick down to one second. Then they missed what was a long field goal, but should have been a chip shot for the guy that nailed a 56 yarder earlier in the game (heartbreaker that may hang heavy on them for a while). Four game Colt lead in their division with eight games to go. Nothing is certain so they’d better suck it up. I don’t expect the Colts to go unbeaten but I do expect them to show up every week. Lord, how I hate these nail-biters.

I sure didn’t expect the current NFC East standings in the middle of the Dallas-KC game. The Cowboys were close to going 2-3 and the Giants were undefeated.

Hot damn!!! This was a huge win.

That game coulda been a disaster with as many times as the ‘Boys kept shooting themselves in the foot (the refs eagerly helping them pull the trigger).

Thank you Miles Austin. Thank you Victor Butler (shoestring tackle on McNabb at the end).

NFC East Leading Cowboys sounds really good.

Not rubbing it in about the Giants. In fact I am as shocked as anyone, as I usually get them here in New England on the telly whenever The Cheaters aren’t playing.

Crap, I cannot believe that interference non-call just now in the Cowboys-Eagles game. And the ref was right there! Stuff like that makes me wonder. . . . Anyway, that likely cost the Cowboys 4 points.

Another peeve: coaches that call time out right before the ball is snapped for FGs like the Eagles just did. And yes, Wade Phillips has done that. It’s one of the reasons I have little respect for him.

Wow, just finally saw the Giants highlights. Ouch! 4 losses in a row, right?

BTW for the rest of the season New Orleans has the edge in “strength of schedule” as far as their opponents. They only have one really good team left to play (New England) and that is at the Superdome, and then most of the rest of their games are in their own division.

Not saying they will go 16-0 (in fact I said they might have been upset today early in the thread). I would not be surprised to see them lose to a division opponent.
