As an aircraft contractor, I travel a lot.

I’ve recently started at the Mayport Navy base in Jacksonville Fl. on a Seahawk project.

When our crew goes to lunch, or, when my buddy and I go to dinner after work, we have noted how few customers the restaurants have. As well, we’ve noted a lot of people walking in lieu of driving or having a car.

Being new to the area, I’ve been exploring my new local. I detect some desperation in the air of many shops, stores, and restaurants. I see it in the eyes of a lot of employees, managers and owners.

Not good news. I’ll bet it is probably higher than they want to openly admit. In any event, I can only imagine how a President McCain or President Palin would have handled it (although we can imagine that it would NOT have been the way we’ve seen it over the past year).

2010 better yield some results for the Dems prior to November or there will be even more House cleaning than they could ever bare.

There’s a good chance that Barry will order the EPA to eliminate CO2 emissions next year if congress fails to pass Cap and Tax.

Imagine the anger of the voters. They spoke through their representatives that they did not want this monster, yet Barry forces it down their throats anyway.

What’s sad is that this “administration” is doing NOTHING to persuade private businesses to hire.

Businesses cannot hire when they don’t know how health “reform”, Cap & Tax and Card Check (among other anti-employment policies) will affect them.

Unfortunately, I don’t see any business hiring until at least 2010 and that’s only if Democrats lose or are closing to losing Conress.

I strongly suspect we have a Bradely affect going here. People are afraid to tell a stranger on the phone that they oppose a black man. However they feel less reluctance towards criticizing one of his policies.

Secondly, he still gets great personal PR, so there are people out there who actually do like him, even if they oppose everything he is trying to do.

WHich doesn’t mean they’ll vote for him next time around, but they do like him.

Wait until they release the revised numbers in February. They already told us their birth/death model was off and they were underestimating job loss. They told us they’re going to add 800k more to unemployment totals in Feb. And yet people who don’t read finance blogs are going to be surprised when they have to revise unemployment up in a few months.
