There is no such thing as witches. Let’s burn Mecca.
MB4 on November 5, 2009 at 11:12 PM
what would actually happen if that happened? i remember tancredo throwing it around as a possibility, but what would actually happen, if in some hot war, mecca bit the dust?
seriously? woudl there be a reformation of “well god isnt on our side in battle so lets be peaceeful”, or would most muslims from saudi to syracuse start blowing stuff up? would it be a net positive or net negative re: islam and the world?
seriously. just as a thought experiment?
battleoflepanto1571 on November 5, 2009 at 11:14 PM
My fantasy is that if Iran ever shoots off one of their nukes it veers off course and hits Mecca… and there is no doubt not even in Palestine… Muslims–the most righteous Muslims at that–destroyed Mecca… Dream sequence over.
Barry was completely unaffected by the tragedy and loss at Ft. Hood. Once again, he’s managed to disgrace the office he holds, disregard the bereaved families of the dead, and embarrass all of us in front of the world. His antipathy for America and Americans is unabashed.
In my opinion, Barry’s sympathies will always be with Hasan, the serial killing Muslim, whose insanity defense will highlight his stressful psychotic break resulting from religious harassment.
I’ve never been a proponent of the death penalty, but in this case, I’ll be happy to make an exception.
You know that Hedy Lamar did scientific research for WWII – getting a patent for the original frequency hopping technology, essentially. Your pseudonym and the situation made me recall that.
And Harvey Korman’s character was a classic, of course.
And so my dear Indians, we will….thank you for the…. and we will continue to …. continue to do the good…..we have a dream…..and so we need to realize you…..it will come to pass……and we must all………………….. Oh, by the way a bunch of soldiers were killed by a Muslim brother today…. too bad……………
Hinmahtooyahlatkek on November 5, 2009 at 11:48 PM
Remember during the Inauguration, when the Marines marched before the review stand, and Biden had to nudge Obama who had his head turned away from them, as he was too busy chatting with his supporters. Remember the look in the Marines’ eyes as they saluted him.
He is so out of touch with reality. I think this is why he won’t send the extra troops to Afghanistan; our soldiers are getting maimed and killed. He couldn’t care less.
That doesn’t make it racism, though. Was the Protestant-Catholic strife in N. Ireland a racial battle?
ddrintn on November 5, 2009 at 11:42 PM
I would not call it a racial battle but I bet many in academia would.
I suggest you read up on how the world views the bigotry towards large groups as they do term it racism. I don’t necessarily agree but it is a fact.
I wonder as many Hispanics are in fact white can other whites of let us say German or Irish heritage be racist against them?
CWforFreedom on November 5, 2009 at 11:49 PM
They term it racism, which is why the word “racism” is becoming as devalued as the word “holocaust”. The academics would say that N. Irish Protestants like Ian Paisley were racist, for sure. It fits their world view to give the vilest term possible to those with whom they disagree.
People, please! Allahpundit of course would say this. An atheist does not believe that humans are made in G-d’s image, and that the taking of a life is the worst crime one can commit. It’s simply part of our meaningless existence. Geez.
Andy in Agoura Hills on November 5, 2009 at 11:17 PM
Welll….Not sure how to reply to this except perhaps to point out that Bernard Nathanson was an atheist when he was an abortionist. He became pro-life, then a believer in God, and eventually a Catholic. Nat Hentoff is another example of a pro-life atheist.
It’s true we are made in God’s image but one doesn’t have to know that to see at least a glimpse of the unfathomable value of human life. Which I guess is precisely why I don’t get Allah’s lack of understanding why people are upset.
Runner it means that the whites in England were considered to be racist towards whites in Ireland. Others here posting believe whites cannot be racists against other whites as they are both of the same race. The point is that it is generally accepted by many across the world that bigotry against many groups is in fact racism even though we normally attribute it to groups such as blacks or asians etc.
Note this post I found elsewhere:
Gypsy Racism In Spain
Gypsies can’t be Spaniards?
-Tommy
Spain has had a long record of racism against many groups: blacks, foreigners, and religious minorities, to name a few.
This was a patriotic event today
The last time Hussain had to read something to honor an American soldier, he had Michelle dressed like VanHalen’s guitar
Because he is speaking at a conference for Native Americans and he is addressing a mass meeting of tribes. It is not a press conference on the events at Ft Hood. His words were appropriate.
lexhamfox on November 5, 2009 at 11:25 PM
Under the circumstances he handled this very poorly. Are Native Americans not Americans btw…I think they would have understood.
Watch the fallout from this ….. Americans will agree with those who feel like I do.
CWforFreedom on November 5, 2009 at 11:30 PM
Even AP thinks you guys are over the edge on this and he is no fan of Obama. That should indicate something to you. I am an American and of Native American descent. I have also served in the armed forces. I am not offended by his words. The comments were made seven hours ago at a conference on Native America issues and he didn’t seem insincere or light hearted about what happened. That is wishful thinking on your part.
What do you think he should have done or said?
I recall lots of lunatics saying that Bush didn’t care about 9-11 or that his dad didn’t care about troops during the first Gulf War and that they were props. That was disgraceful nonsense then and it is now when you folk think he doesn’t care or suggest this guy sympathizes with the killer at Ft. Hood.
Um, Allah? You must’ve known how bad this QOTD was for you to highlight it in the first place. You know your readers and you had to have known how upsetting this “address” would be to them. The comments above yours, to which you were responding, were pretty tame and spot on. Don’t go Shep Smith on us, ‘k?
It’s another look into his soul. I have never seen a more narcissicist politician in my life. So for him, the death of soldiers is just one more item in a speech to give:
1. Thank your hosts – check
2. Make a little joke – check
3. Shout out to medal winner – check
4. Express remorse over the death of soldiers – check
etc.

Good summary. The only thing you might have missed were his rather embarrassing references to himself. That’s typical, but in this instance he seemed off guard and trying to assure people that he could deal with the situation. The truth is that he can’t.
Even leftie pundits are wondering about his abilities. They never contemplated outcomes, so there’s no surprise there.
For the rest of us this administration is a ongoing nightmare. BHO is not and never was fit to lead anything much less a country like the United States of America. We are great. He is not.
He is least among millions of accomplished people who lead ordinary lives. He has, however, lived a rather charmed life which will eventually crash around him. He’s a fake.
With Barry, there is no there. He knows it, and it shows on his face. It was obvious today.
A leader speaks to the people to address their fears, and plainly tells them that on no uncertain terms wrongs will be addressed. A leader of this country lets people know that somewhere inside an anger and resolve exists to address what has happened.
Bush may have been caught off guard during his normal schedule reading a book to school children, but when he had to take a stand he did so with a passion that startled and surprised a nation in need. Bush acted like a Yank.
Barry isn’t a Yank. Yeah, he’s a citizen, but he isn’t one of us. Epic failure. BHO is the Dem party boy. Pelosi was a big part of this fiasco. She didn’t want Hillary in DC. I’m no Hillary fan, but it was obvious that Pelosi wanted a nitwit in the WH.

This statement is nonsensical.
runner on November 6, 2009 at 12:14 AM
What I mean is, there were tensions between these two groups and they were just like any other between two European entities. It is also illogical to say that white aggression against another white person is racism (or aggression between two black people). Overall, I don’t know what this white racism discussion has to do with the topic of the thread , I just found your statement odd.
One more try. He should not have been cavalier. One does not give “shout outs” when one is the leader of the Free World while his very country is in the midst of a tragedy.
He should have spoken the words that he began to speak at 1:57 on this video as soon as he had the microphone. Mr. Obama spoke the words “I” and “ME” 13 times before he addressed Ft. Hood. His focus on self, rather than Country, is insincere and rude.
I am certain that my Cherokee grandmother would be indignant to know that The President of The United States of America waited nearly 2 minutes to offer leadership to his countrymen so that he could offer a “shout out” and read notes from a prepared speech on Native American issues…or anything else!
It looks as though someone wrote note cards for him. PLEASE let him have been speaking ex tempore. Like it or not, he’s the President. As Americans we NEED him to be coherent in public.
“Sit down everyone. Ok. First, thanks to the principal of the school, all the great kids who had a terrific reading session this morning. Also, it is my understanding that Mrs. Crabtree is around. I want to give a shout out to that Golden Apple winner…”
One more thing, Allah. While you’re telling people to “calm down” I seem to remember that a few weeks ago when the FBI discovered terrorist threats directed at NYC you were in a dither. I guess the rest of us in Flyover Country should have told you to get a grip on your sorry self.
Well, what’s the diff here? And what right do you have to chastise anyone else for their concerns?
Hassan posted his threats on the internet 6 months ago. If he were a pro life extremist he would be behind bars. This case, like the election of Barack Obama, is a case of political correctness run amok.
The thing that disturbed me most about Obama’s reaction is how quickly he went from smiling, joking and laughing, to stern, solemn and grieving. That was really creepy.
I want a president who performs his job well, not a president who can put on a good performance.
I saw this live this evening. This man is an embarrassment to the office. I would be willing to guess that when Barry Soetoro was growing up, he saw very little TV footage of U.S. presidents–and even less as he got older. I think he has no idea how to act, what he’s supposed to say, what other Presidents have said or how they acted in similar situations. If the best he can do is get an acting coach, then he ought to at least do that. This performance today was disgusting. Who was doing Fox News when he came on? Maybe Cavuto or Shep–I don’t remember. Whichever one it was, I think they were honestly shocked when Obama finished.
You don’t win the Medal of Honor, it is not a contest. You receive it.
JamesB on November 6, 2009 at 12:23 AM
Then there’s that! He seems so busy trying to be kewl with his shouting outs…that he doesn’t even get that part right. Sweet Mother of God, is it possible he really doesn’t understand anything about America…or is Barack Obama simply doing an excellent job of intentionally destroying America? I fear it is the latter.
The thing that disturbed me most about Obama’s reaction is how quickly he went from smiling, joking and laughing, to stern, solemn and grieving. That was really creepy.

And add to it the performance he put up for the cameras at Dover AFB and he might just win a Lifetime Oscar
“no blacks, no Irish, no dogs” Google it and see what comes up. I never saw the signs myself but I think along with “Irish need not apply” it was out there in parts up to the early 70′s.
It’s bigotry and thankfully no longer tolerated since most in England have an Irish grandparent nowadays.
labwriter; While I understand your perspective,I don’t think anyone who has authentic feelings needs any coaching,or to see how others have reacted to tragic situations. If Bambi had one genuine feeling for our military, whatever he said would come out right, but of course there is NOTHING genuine or authentic about him.
I don’t know how anyone can spin Obama’s remarks, or rather his presentation, as ordinary. I was watching ABC and Charlie Gibson said “we’re going to the President now.” I was expecting a statement right then, as I’m sure everyone was. And it took over two minutes for him to get around to it. Who can honestly say he or she was watching that and was not thinking “what the hell is he doing.” Is it some kind of horrific offense? No. But it was downright strange.

I researched BHO after he made his speech at the Dem convention. At that time I was simply curious knowing that he wanted the big prize.
A few hours of research and a little time on the TUCC website (which has been completely scrubbed and revised)in early 2005 convinced me that he was unqualified for the position of POTUS and could not be in 3 yrs time.
This has been an fascinating period of time politically that curiously combined with a financial meltdown that rocked the world. In the case of Lehman Brothers BK I maintain that it was not particularly curious and that it was not a coincidence. Dick Fuld might agree with me on this point. Lehman’s failure was the tipping point for the 2008 campaign. Ask McCain. Or simply look at a chart for the Dow or S&P on September 13th.
In the end we are stuck with this asshat and his pathetic, doddering, botox bimbo and zombie like creep, Reid, for the next few years – unless we vote them out in 2010. Take back the House and get rid of Pelosi…. a step toward recovery of the country.
I keep hoping that Cindy McCain Jeri Thompson wakes up tomorrow in the White House master bedroom and hears John Fred in the shower and we all find out that the past year has all just been a dream nightmare she had…ala Pam Ewing on Dallas.
Many thanks to you O’goobber big ears. “My immediate

If your mouth didn’t look an sphinter ani, I might believe you. Not likely as I hear your exposition, “terrific work”! So, how’s you’re unconditional surrender goin?

BHO definitely is part of contingent that feeds off of the public, lives off of them and is permanently dependent on the public teat. They are feeders, not creators.
The more dependent they become on us the more they despise us and need to control us. See what’s happening here?
If we cut them off, they go away. At some point ya just have to kick the free loaders out of the house. Tough love, as they say.

SilentWatcher on November 6, 2009 at 12:21 AM

I am certain that my Cherokee grandmother would be indignant to know that The President of The United States of America waited nearly 2 minutes to offer leadership to his countrymen so that he could offer a “shout out” and read notes from a prepared speech on Native American issues…or anything else!
redwhiteblue on November 6, 2009 at 12:22 AM
What a brainless automaton.
He could hardly say the word “prayer”. If he doesn’t believe it, why insert it in the speech?
The disgusting part – the first segment, with this travesty of today, was again about “I”, “I assure you this is just the beginning…I, I…I”
Fark you underdeveloped incomepetent pretender. This country is in a twilight zone.

Thanks for your calm and thorough work today.
Many of us got upset by the killings today, and angry at the president’s reaction. It’s alright for us to get emotional about these things.
Loxodonta on November 6, 2009 at 12:27 AM
One more thing, Allah. While you’re telling people to “calm down” I seem to remember that a few weeks ago when the FBI discovered terrorist threats directed at NYC you were in a dither. I guess the rest of us in Flyover Country should have told you to get a grip on your sorry self.
Well, what’s the diff here? And what right do you have to chastise anyone else for their concerns?
Cody1991 on November 6, 2009 at 12:28 AM
Hassan posted his threats on the internet 6 months ago. If he were a pro life extremist he would be behind bars. This case, like the election of Barack Obama, is a case of political correctness run amok.

The thing that disturbed me most about Obama’s reaction is how quickly he went from smiling, joking and laughing, to stern, solemn and grieving. That was really creepy.
I want a president who performs his job well, not a president who can put on a good performance.
Loxodonta on November 6, 2009 at 12:32 AM
I saw this live this evening. This man is an embarrassment to the office. I would be willing to guess that when Barry Soetoro was growing up, he saw very little TV footage of U.S. presidents–and even less as he got older. I think he has no idea how to act, what he’s supposed to say, what other Presidents have said or how they acted in similar situations. If the best he can do is get an acting coach, then he ought to at least do that. This performance today was disgusting. Who was doing Fox News when he came on? Maybe Cavuto or Shep–I don’t remember. Whichever one it was, I think they were honestly shocked when Obama finished.
labwriter on November 6, 2009 at 12:32 AM
Then there’s that! He seems so busy trying to be kewl with his shouting outs…that he doesn’t even get that part right. Sweet Mother of God, is it possible he really doesn’t understand anything about America…or is Barack Obama simply doing an excellent job of intentionally destroying America? I fear it is the latter.
redwhiteblue on November 6, 2009 at 12:33 AM
And add to it the performance he put up for the cameras at Dover AFB and he might just win a Lifetime Oscar

“no blacks, no Irish, no dogs” Google it and see what comes up. I never saw the signs myself but I think along with “Irish need not apply” it was out there in parts up to the early 70′s.
It’s bigotry and thankfully no longer tolerated since most in England have an Irish grandparent nowadays.
