How in the world does he give a “shout out” before he addresses the massacre?

This isn’t a seminar, professor. This is real life.

PhoenixUniversal on November 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM

For a guy who loves the camera you’d think he’d prefer 2 press conferences instead of 1. Or, did he have something more urgent to do? Golf? Movie of himself? Meeting with Andy Stern? Midnight Basketball?

battleoflepanto1571 on November 5, 2009 at 11:16 PM

Maybe I am making an excuse for Pres. Bush, but he was not on National TV, about to basically address the nation, which Obama had to know his speech would be carried live, or why do it? It was the first words America would hear from him after todays attack.

You people make us seem like a bunch of medieval bumpkins off to burn a witch.

I was screaming at the TV. President Kanye.

And I did not follow it close enough, I know he read a book and all, trying to stay calm, but at that point, was it a known terrorist attack, or was it maybe a plane accidentally hitting the first tower? It had to be early on.

WoosterOh on November 5, 2009 at 11:13 PM

WoosterOh:

My only angle was that the media had a fit over whether or
not Bush knew, now Obama is giving a speech, and right then and there Obama should of said something about this tradegy,
so I find it hard to believe that Obama wasn’t briefed, and
thats the exact accusation that was levelled at Bush!!

So,now, how will the media spin this!!

canopfor on November 5, 2009 at 11:21 PM

Will someone PLEASE PUT A DIAPER over his mouth !!!!!!!!!!!. I am tired of being spewed with his BULLSHYT. His is one more case of oral rectal inversion syndrome. Just watched it for the first time and he looked worse than he sounded on the radio, which is rare.

Yep. On top of everything, Precedent Hussein even “screwed up” that – to use the Precedential vernacular.

America has never had to contend with such a destructive and moronic political figure. This will not end well, but it will end soon – a year and a half at the outside.

George Bush was terrible at giving speeches, but he WAS sincere, compassionate, sensitive and genuine.

I think Bush was better at giving speeches that Obama. Especially off-the-cuff ones. Try to watch this speech and once you notice the first “uh” you cant help notice the other 100.

Dire Straits on November 5, 2009 at 11:26 PM

It’s another look into his soul. I have never seen a more narcissicist politician in my life. So for him, the death of soldiers is just one more item in a speech to give:

1. Thank your hosts – check
2. Make a little joke – check
3. Shout out to medal winner – check
4. Express remorse over the death of soldiers – check
etc.

PackerBronco on November 5, 2009 at 11:26 PM

lexhamfox, you could not be more wrong. This was not a presser but it was not appropriate for him to have addressed the conference and shout outs in light of what had just occurred. I am amazed Obama can walk with all the heads stuck up his ass.

UncleZeb on November 5, 2009 at 11:28 PM

PackerBronco on November 5, 2009 at 11:26 PM

Good breakdown…that was odd. If Obama had any credibility with the military and their families it just took a big fall.

CWforFreedom on November 5, 2009 at 11:28 PM

You know what? I’m sure glad I’m not the only one who reacts the way I do. I’m glad all of you are out there just as outraged I am.

I saw this and… it is simply unbelievable that this man is our President. He is so out of touch with Americans. I wonder if he has even met any real Americans. He just seems so foreign and clueless.

People are dying, soldiers are dying, you are their commander! The country looks to you for leadership. We look to you to show outrage! We look to you to defend us! To defend the brave and noble soldiers who defend us!

And you make small talk jokes with the crowd before putting on the fake face and pretending you care.

How have we sunk so low as a people that this is the best we could do last year? I feel shame that this man is my President.

…and they still say Sarah isn’t qualified! My fourteen year old would have done a better job. So inappropriate! Hell, doesn’t he have at least one advisor with some degree of common sense?

libertylady on November 5, 2009 at 11:48 PM

Because he is speaking at a conference for Native Americans and he is addressing a mass meeting of tribes. It is not a press conference on the events at Ft Hood. His words were appropriate.

My father was the first to see through the lies of this man. He had sharper eyes than the rest of our people. A Great Chief who would not love his warriors is worse than a mad dog. Hear me, my fellow Americans. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will support Barack Obama no more forever.

Hinmahtooyahlatkek on November 5, 2009 at 11:48 PM

Contrast with his speech yesterday to school kids; today’s speech had no passion, no heart. Obama has no idea how to run the country. ZERO.

Actually, he was never a “professor”, associate or otherwise. Just a …”senior lecturer”. Whatever that means.

You’re absolutely right. I wrote that for effect, but it’s an important distinction to make.

Barry didn’t write anything, didn’t publish as far as I know, no chance of him being an actual professor.

CW — thanks, friend! :)

People are dying, soldiers are dying, you are their commander! The country looks to you for leadership. We look to you to show outrage! We look to you to defend us! To defend the brave and noble soldiers who defend us!

Why would you expect him to show leadership now when he never has in his entire life? Yeah, you expect a President to have that ability, except none of the idiots who voted for him bothered to look to see if he had any.

Socratease on November 5, 2009 at 11:49 PM

Good catch rwb! He thinks it is all about him.

yoda on November 5, 2009 at 11:34 PM

Yep, and I’m pretty mad with math…but this was just too obvious. Thanks for the – oh no, I can’t ever say s.o. again! Anyway, thanks.

At first, I thought this post was for Obamateurism of the presidency with only one entry. But there are still over 3 years to go.

Hey Obama, I bet you can see Uranus from your front porch.

GnuBreed on November 5, 2009 at 11:49 PM

Especially considering the First Lady claimed military families as one of her causes, Barry blew it.

Christien on November 5, 2009 at 11:49 PM

That doesn’t make it racism, though. Was the Protestant-Catholic strife in N. Ireland a racial battle?

ddrintn on November 5, 2009 at 11:42 PM

I would not call it a racial battle but I bet many in academia would.

I suggest you read up on how the world views the bigotry towards large groups as they do term it racism. I don’t necessarily agree but it is a fact.

I wonder as many Hispanics are in fact white can other whites of let us say German or Irish heritage be racist against them?

CWforFreedom on November 5, 2009 at 11:49 PM

Why do I have this feeling that hussain will address a joint session of the Congress tomorrow and preach to an applauding crowd of demoncrats about
‘ America’ssss chickenss ….”

macncheez on November 5, 2009 at 11:50 PM

I know we’ve evolved into the higher order of society now, and the the O’s constant up-speak is seen as great oratory, but, you know, when you say “a number of American soldiers have been killed” and the up-turn in on the killed, I think you need to get out of the bubble

I saw this live just waiting for him to comment on this tradgey. All I hear is Indians this and clapping. I thought Fox was actully lying that he was going to remark on this tradgey. The first words out of his mouth should of been for prayers for those involved. It was offensive for him to say he was the CIC too, we know that you dolt. You don’t have to say it. I can’t believe whoever set this up did it this way. He should of went off message and worried about the indians another time.

Brat4life on November 5, 2009 at 11:50 PM

I wonder what the room thought because it seems they knew about Ft Hood as you didn’t hear a big gasp when he started talking about the tragedy with our troops.

I know I thought it was disgusting to not say anything until 2 minutes in. Hell get a handler to update to the crowd the Presidents remarks need to be changed due to shooting on a base in Tx. Then do it.
Media handling of this by the white house is a fail.
This man has no moral compass for american values and he our President. It’s like he a robot that has to be put here and told to say this here. 99% of the country would know the right thing to do but our president doesn’t.
By the way any haters on Bush after 9/11 the right thing to do was not to cause a panic with school kids. This was a conference with adults. Obama agenda was more important then addressing a tragedy. Obama can’t think on his feet and its all about him.
God bless our soldiers and please God help the victims and thier familes.
