This was pathetic AP. At least you posted the whole clip to show what a narcissistic jerk this guy is. This man is despicable. He is not worthy of this office.
As I posted one other time, I will repeat it,,
After 2 min.,180 words about himself later, Obama finally said (paraphrasing) “I wanted to talk more, but some of you might have heard…”
He is a disgusting human being. What Commander in Chief would act this way on such news?! Disgusting worthless man who cares of nothing but his own puny plans!
What an embarrassment. Giving shout outs. What the hell is this? He has downgraded the presidency terribly. And then his wife will be on ‘Iron Chef America?!’

Agreed, but not shocking. This to me, was one of Obama’s most insincere moments when it comes to the military. He has no regard, no respect, and no caring for these men, and women in uniform, and their families. He uses a fallen soldiers coffin, as a photo op. He doesn’t know the difference between Memorial Day, and Veterans Day. He dissed the troops in Germany, while standing before a crowd of Germans, campaigning. How stupid was that!?! Then to top it all off, as a Senator, he accused our men, and women in uniform of bombing innocent civilians, and children.
This man has absolutely no respect for our armed forces, and when forced to stand up, and speak about tragedies, such as todays….well, he’s a liar, but not a good one!

he gave a SHOUTOUT and rambled for 2 minutes when 12 of HIS servicemen were dead.
it’s not just ‘americans’, it’s ‘soldiers’ — people who swear to defend the constitution, and who swear to serve HIM.
it’s the ultimate slap in the face –
“oh yeah, some of the people i lead died today”

So he wants to keep them safe and secure…AT HOME???? Forget overseas in a combat zone underfunded and under manned. sheesh…
I will be praying for the families of the fallen and the victims of this atrocity committed against military members by a fellow. And yeah Mr. Prez–GOD BLESS AMERICA!
All due respect, am reminded of Bernard Nathanson’s bewilderment at a prolife advocate’s great upset at discussing the abortion issue, since she was such a “rational” person otherwise. She looked at him and explained that when the deliberate and violent, gruesome deaths of human beings were involved, she couldn’t understand his dispassion. It was one of the encounters which turned him from a big time abortionist to a prolife activist.
That said, IMO most of us are at least attempting to keep it as classy as is possible, as you see above. We’d appreciate the benefit of the doubt.
I saw this while I was at work and left the room in a huff. Later, my liberal colleague asked me what was the matter. I told him this is way worse than what W did on 9/11 because it showed pure callousness on the part of a President who obviously didn’t care about what happened; indeed saw this whole thing as a distraction from his “more important issues”. I almost punched him when he said the two were not comparable. I kept my cool however and told him to put himself in the families of the victims shoes; to see that the Commander in Chief was joking around before he delivered his “solemn statement”. Of course with blinders on he told me that the families had other things to worry about at the moment. Being sarcastic, I said that a little actual leadership from the “Boss” was clearly too much to ask for. I left the room because I could not stand to be in the same place as someone this clearly indoctrinated.
Hey AP, if you think we’re overreacting then why not write up a little piece to go along with the clip to explain, something along the lines of your usual “I’m not convinced, but….” or “To be fair to Obama, Bush did the same when…”
Obama does not have an ingrained respect and love of the soldiers like a real patriot would. Clinton didn’t either. He is not comfortable discussing military matters and he resents having to be a wartime president because a socialist takeover of the domestic economy is what he craves most.
I remember when Michelle Obama did the photo op at the VA hospital a while back, she said something to the effect that “most Americans don’t realize what military families go through”, which of course is referring to herself. There are plenty of us out here that actively support the troops and have them on our minds all the time.
I haven’t watched this yet. I am hoping that it is one of those things that is in the eye of the beholder. I probably could be more charitable if I thought it would be the end of the snark about Pres. Bush continuing to read the book to the children on 9/11. Does anyone think that will happen. I am a bit sorry this is the QOTD, I was interested in Allah’s take.
Geez, people. Calm down.

because his real daddy is frank Marshall Davis. Because he was raised to hate America and white people that work hard and have pride in themselves and their country. Because he hides his past documents. That is why he is so non chalant when it comes to American servicemen and women dying!
Did Teh One speak at his grandmother’s funeral? I’d like to hear a transcript of that. Maybe he called out some bingo numbers before getting down to business. I make no apologies for being crass or insensitive because that is exactly how Blowbambi behaved today.
The only person he missed in his opening shout-outs was cousin Pookie (but that’s because he’s in the doghouse for not getting off the couch to vote in Jersey).
And then the snake-oil salesman turn on the serious/emotionally troubled personality…
When he first started speaking – I assumed they were showing an old file tape by mistake, cause he couldn’t possibly be there to speak about the tragedy. And he went on and on and I figured when the hell are they going to figure out they have an old tape in….and then….OMG – how do you even process this. He is despicable. And no, we should calm down!
it took the worst gop candidate in 40 years, the ‘first’ black guy, a young guy, a charismatic guy, an apocalyptic economic crash, no public funding so $600 million war chest, total tv ads, media love, no past introspection, 2 wars, everyone tired of bush, gop president with 30% approval…
….and he still just got 53%.
fifty THREE.
all the advantages, all the hype… and he won with 53%.
because of the electoral votes being reallocated, whatever gop runs in 2012, all they have to do is win the mccain states, plus the obvious red states that weirdly went blue (indiana, NC)… and then win…
FLORIDA. VIRGINIA. OHIO. COLORADO.
that’s it. heck, any of the r’s could win 2 of those today.
obama is a one termer.

Buckeye Babe on November 5, 2009 at 10:44 PM
If anyone wasn’t convinced before this man-child’s disgrace of a reaction to today’s massacre then this behavior should confirm: he loves fish sticks.
We’ve tried to be calm for the past 12 months. His cavalier attitude has crossed the line on this one, AP. Pounding our keyboards and over-using exclamation points is necessary therapy for most of us. It’s going to be a bumpy ride…
I just watched it again for the second time to be sure I didnt overreact. It is worse the second time. He rambled on for 2 mins about his beloved conference and his agenda before even mentioning this tragedy. When he did mention the tragedy he had to read off of note cards. He is officially an ASSHAT!
AP just for the record I will not calm down as long as this idiot is in the White House.
Nothing is more depressing than the realization that Obama will ultimately make this worse. I’m not sure what he is going to do, but it’s going to be bad.
Maybe we will luck out and he will just hide in DC and pretend this never happened. It’d be for the best. I’d rather have him trying to force unconstitutional legislation our country does not want down our throats than have him involve himself in this any further.
It makes me sad to see the level of comment on this thread. Conservatives should be more intelligent and more stoic in their reactions to the Fort Hood tragedy–which I’m guessing is behind these comments. You people make us seem like a bunch of medieval bumpkins off to burn a witch.
This bunch hates the military. The “First Family” spews there BS about putting service ahead of big buck jobs. Yeah, well how about putting your life on the line for your country for little bucks. But I guess that is not service. I am so pissed at this piece of crap, I can not see straight. This other piece of crap at Ft Hood, the member of the Religion of Peace, better hope there is a guard at his door because there are going to be some pissed off people down there.

And I’m guessing that shrill piece of overblown hysteria was your example of being “intelligent” and “stoic.”
Cram it toots, this is our reaction to the Disgrace That Is Hussein, not the Food Hood ATROCITY (please don’t call it a tragedy – when SUVs full of kids skid off roads into lakes, that’s a tragedy.)
And I did not follow it close enough, I know he read a book and all, trying to stay calm, but at that point, was it a known terrorist attack, or was it maybe a plane accidentally hitting the first tower? It had to be early on.

Does anyone here remember how the media, liberals, democrats all hauled Bush over the coals for reacting the way he did when he was told in his ear about the 9/11 attacks? And they still do it till today, after 8 years
Contrast that with the classy and mature reaction from Hussain today !
Do I need a sarc tag for that?
There is no such thing as witches. Let’s burn Mecca.

what would actually happen if that happened? i remember tancredo throwing it around as a possibility, but what would actually happen, if in some hot war, mecca bit the dust?
seriously? woudl there be a reformation of “well god isnt on our side in battle so lets be peaceeful”, or would most muslims from saudi to syracuse start blowing stuff up? would it be a net positive or net negative re: islam and the world?
seriously. just as a thought experiment?

the ‘whisper’ in bush’s ear was the 2nd tower hitting. he sat and listened to a teacher read, processing the 2nd tower. i think the whisper was actually saying ‘the 2nd tower is hit. america is at war’ or something.
in retrospect, what was he supposed to do? if he runs out, or if he excused himself, so what? could he have stopped anything? they didnt even shut down airspace until an hour later.
that doesnt even bother me
battleoflepanto1571 on November 5, 2009 at 11:16 PM
…Three more years of this, folks.
Hawkins1701 on November 5, 2009 at 11:00 PM
No way. This nation won’t survive three more years of this. Either The Precedent or the US is going to break, but both would not make three more years of this America-hating nitwit. We are in the end game, now.
This pathetic display by the Traitor-in-Chief is no surprise, really. He is running a stall strategy to bleed our troops in Afghanistan. He is running a stall strategy to help his allies in Iran get their nukes up and running (or force Israel to take them down, after which Europe and The Precedent will launch into a massive drive to destroy Israel – a twofer on that possibility). And now, Precedent Hussein stalls in his remarks on Major Hassan’s terror attack (and plays the whole scene like a goof and an aside) in order to try and lesson the impact of more of his allies in their attacks on America.
I seldom listen when I see Obama on the TV. He is either reading from a teleprompter or stuttering when he has to answer questions. So I never heard this while it was on earlier today.
It is really sad, that the American President, who is the Commander in Chief, waited two minutes to express his grief for the tragedy today. And during those two minutes, he is making a joke, giving a shout out, and acting like the conference he had today was the priority of his 5 minute speech.
And I do remember his lack of response when the soldiers were shot in Little Rock.
All due respect, am reminded of Bernard Nathanson’s bewilderment at a prolife advocate’s great upset at discussing the abortion issue, since she was such a “rational” person otherwise. JohnJ on November 5, 2009 at 10:57 PM
why wasn’t something done when Hasan was arguing with other officers and rejoicing in the death of American soldiers? While Janet Napolitano was having the DHS issue a generalized undocumented screed about “rightwing extremists” and Eric Holder was being concerned about protecting Muslims, just who was watching out for real and definite threats to our safety and well-being?
Political games and reality-denying political correctness set up the scenario of this horrific day at Ft. Hood.

I left the room because I could not stand to be in the same place as someone this clearly indoctrinated.
alohapundit on November 5, 2009 at 10:59 PM
Hey AP, if you think we’re overreacting then why not write up a little piece to go along with the clip to explain, something along the lines of your usual “I’m not convinced, but….” or “To be fair to Obama, Bush did the same when…”
And so on and so forth.
Sharke on November 5, 2009 at 10:59 PM
The very first word,
should of been about the soldiers and families!!!!!!!!!
If any spin,is to be spun, this is exactly what the Liberals
accused Bush of,on the day of 911,where he was in the school
room with the children!!
So,how will the Moonbat Trolls and media defend Hopey/Changey on this one,
he didn’t know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
canopfor on November 5, 2009 at 10:59 PM

I am a bit sorry this is the QOTD, I was interested in Allah’s take.

no way.
it took the worst gop candidate in 40 years, the ‘first’ black guy, a young guy, a charismatic guy, an apocalyptic economic crash, no public funding so $600 million war chest, total tv ads, media love, no past introspection, 2 wars, everyone tired of bush, gop president with 30% approval…

It’s going to get worse.

And I did not follow it close enough, I know he read a book and all, trying to stay calm, but at that point, was it a known terrorist attack, or was it maybe a plane accidentally hitting the first tower? It had to be early on.

Contrast that with the classy and mature reaction from Hussain today !
Do I need a sarc tag for that?

the ‘whisper’ in bush’s ear was the 2nd tower hitting. he sat and listened to a teacher read, processing the 2nd tower. i think the whisper was actually saying ‘the 2nd tower is hit. america is at war’ or something.
in retrospect, what was he supposed to do? if he runs out, or if he excused himself, so what? could he have stopped anything? they didnt even shut down airspace until an hour later.
that doesnt even bother me

Just a typical America-hating Precedent.

Sad, just plain sad.
