Last I checked, McCain was at the top of the ballot in ’08 and they didn’t even show up for NY-23.

The argument can be made that despite the limitations on Hoffman’s charisma and his political inexperience that Sarah Palin’s endorsement brought a virtual “3rd party candidate” and unknown to within 3-4 percentage points of victory.

Look Moesart, Owens only won after Dede and the RINO establishment in district 23 supported him. You can’t blame Palin if Dede turned traitor and betrayed her party.

Oh. After weeks of pumping this Hoffman guy up, now he is a terrible retail politician. How soon you guys turn.

Sounds a little like a straw man to me. Not many are saying that Hoffman is “terrible”; he’s obviously not Mr Excitement but seemed pretty solid on the issues. He probably needed a little more time and a less convoluted ballot situation.

Independent voters like Republicans and Democrats are NOT monolithic. They are also divided into conservatives, moderates and liberals.

As to the latter Sarah is not going after their support. As for the moderates that is not a focus of Sarah’s attention right now. What however is a focus of her attention is to increasingly gain the support of INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVES, especially those who are representative of the Tea Party movement and ex-Republicans who gave up their GOP membership as a protest of the GOP becoming too moderate.

I really feel Sarah can make inroads among this group over the next year and where her gain in popularity and in the polls will become more pronounced. The base will always be with Sarah. I have no doubt about that.

The President might be a thin-skinned, arrogant, incompetent, marxist fool but alas that does not meet the criteria for impeachment.

Help me figure something out here: The Palin-centric read on NY-23 is all over the media today, no doubt to let the left make the case that she’s political poison. But if she’s the kiss of death, whose entry into a race can be counted on to send the silent majority fleeing into the arms of the Democrats, why’d Team Barry go to such lengths themselves to try to beat Hoffman? Obama attended a fundraiser for Owens; the vice president showed up for an eleventh-hour rally in the district; and they worked every connection they could to flip Scozzafava, leaving the nominees of both major parties aligned against the conservative. That’s a lot of effort to narrowly defeat someone who’d supposedly already received the coup de grace from Palin. But don’t look for logic on this subject: NBC’s own Palin-centric spin on the race mocks Sarahcuda and other top Republicans for backing a guy who was, it’s true, a terrible retail politician — even though they came thisclose to pushing him over the top.

It is amazing that the full weight and import of the White House press office is obsessed, I repeat, obsessed with a single Facebook entry on some no longer public employee’s webpage. Why it’s as if they thought she was the second coming of Obama or the Virgin Mary in her importance. And yet they treat her as they would the Devil if he sat down to supper with them.

I’d say the man in the White House was scared to Death of what Sarahcuda could do to him, if I truly thought he gave her a second thought. He’s too busy trying to figure out how to ruin the economy, ram government health care and job killing cap-and-trade down our throats. The Dhimmicrats are absolutely stark raving mad at this point. Blaming the mother of 5 kids with no other employment than to write a book and make posts on Facebook for the downfall of their entire agenda.

I think that makes Sarah a giant killer, by definition. (Of course, the giant, in this case, was actually more like smoke and mirrors from the Wizard of Oz).

Go Sarah. More effective use of cash in the cause of conservatism, you’ll not find. So give it to her PAC and watch the heads roll, and the Dhimmicrats pee all over themselves in fear.
