There’s not much hope for us still here keeping it purple, I’m afraid. SF and LA has too many lemmings willing to vote for the ‘cool’ candidate (see ‘November 2008′). But if we can knock off a few of the idiots and keep them on their toes, maybe I’ll stick around for a few more years…

California is a bedroom community for San Francisco and for a bunch of state employees at places like Vacaville and Soledad state prison. If Garamendi wins by less than 5% within such a built in Democrat crowd the blue dogs and the socialists will both note well. More blue dogs will stand up to Pelosi.

Garamendi is life-long political hack who has never had a real job in his life. He has blatantly carpetbagged his way into running for this spot. I struggle to shy away from invective, but Garamendi is a tool. He's also co-opted the title of one of our Governor's many fine motion pictures: John Garamendi IS The Running Man. Always running for something.

And CA-10 is really gerrymandered, it goes from near Berkeley all the way to near Sacramento. Here is a map of CA-10. You don't get any more liberal than the areas outside Berkeley and Oakland.

Wow, people are really moving that goalpost back to say losing by single digits is a “Moral Victory”. Does it need to be pointed out that those previously mentioned congressional results were from when Tauscher was a well established incumbent of a decade or so? The reason the district voted at the Representative level for Dems by such wide margins for the past decade plus is because she was the only Dem in that time frame. When she first won and her first re-election came, it was by a very slim margin of victory.

As a matter of fact, all the way through the 2000 campaign her wins were in the single digits. I mean hell, the year before she beat Baker (The incumbent in the 96 race she won the seat in), he won the previous campaign in ’94 by 20 points.

That is true. An assemblyman did a fact-finding mission to Nevada to talk to ex-California business owners. All of the indicated over-regulation did them in.

Well I checked my ad. It is for an extra long plumber shirt that doesn’t come untucked when working. I’m not kidding. I am neither a man nor a plumber. I wonder if someone thinks my shirts should be longer….

Actually it probably is cookie driven. I down loaded a pattern for a “modest prom dress” yesterday to make my daughter a costume for the school play.

But really plumber shirts?

I am pretty sure that’s how these ad server’s work. Or, they check your IP address upon submission and record a history of searches for the IP address to serve ads that are “targeted.”

I got spooked this weekend when I saw an ad for American Girl AND AT&T on the same Hotair page just after I did my christmas shopping for my grand nieces and checked my AT&T account. My nephew gave me the link to adblock.

I really don’t mind ads on websites. I want them to make money, but I really don’t like TARGETED ads based on cookies in my computer. That is just too 1984 for my comfort level.

Now I don’t see the HotAir ads. I would donate to hotair to help out with the revenues if they put up a paypal link.

Even Gore pulled out that district on 2000. I will never understand how that district go Dim. It is generally upper middle to upper class with Antioch and a few lower middle class towns but overall it should go conservative.

I am convinced it is the full tilt liberal Bay Area media that has saturated the minds of the sheeple there for decades that drives this disconnect.

A bigger problem, which haunted Garamendi for years and also took place in the early 90′s, was Garamendi’s seizure of Executive Life and subsequent sale of its junk bonds to Milken-protege Leon Black.
