[...] Actually, Balz then starts explaining how the election may have been a referendum on Obama. He notes that Obama won voters concerned about the economy a year ago by wide margins, when it was easy to blame George Bush. A year later, the same issue led voters to choose the Republican by even wider margins (75% in New Jersey, 60% in Virginia), according to the exit polls. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, since Obama suffered a seventeen-point swing in his job approval ratings for the economy in the latest CNN poll.
Odumbo will be reelected in 2012 because the GOP will not field a decent candidate. Maybe they should advertise in Monster.com..... they will certainly find better candidates than what they could come up with by their little selves.....

HAHAHAHAHA. ROFL
I wonder if it was the typical 60% dem voters

the rats should be jumping off the good ship obama soon

but I don't know if that's good

they are going to toss Obama over the side with the anvil around his neck

the blacks will again be the dupes for the dem party

they used Obama as a figurehead that they could jettison in case of implosion

I've said that Obama reminded me of dinnerjacket since he is merely the parrot for the true pirates

the pirates didn't lose since they managed to fund their public sector for some time with the only real cure being repealing the grotesque expenditures that they used obamas temporary popularity to push through

I'm afraid that things might just go back to normal which wasn't that great to begin with

yes sir, another great moment for dems regarding their black constituency

we must not let this moment go without absolutely attempting to wring ourselves of these career pikes on both sides

Steve Z on November 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM

Yes, but the real problem is Obama is untouchable to about 24% of the people.
Jimmy didn't have that, he had maybe the 12% liberal nuts that vote dem no matter what, but he didn't have the race card to play...Obama is tough because he has that built in 24% that is unshakable, that leaves the balance of 76%, where it has to shake out 51% R, and 25% d...
That is how we lost, the independents did not see, or understand what Obama was going to do, policy wise. They voted on personality and "hope and change".
We need to attack his policies, and only that, since the swing vote will be the independents...and they will look at policies.
Try to attack Obama personally, and people will defend him to prove we are not bigots...

Bush and the Republican congress gave us 4.5% unemployment and a $250B deficit.

Obama and the Democrat's congress in 2006 gave us something like 8% unemployment and a $750B.

Obama and that congress now have given us 17% unemployment and a $2T deficit.

Are there any questions the man has failed in any measurable sense on the economy?

Every manufacturer seems to be moving to Mexico or other 3rd world countries.

That's not actually true.

We don't make t-shirts, plastic toys and other cheap, disposable crap that can be made in third world hell holes like China, true.

We're never going to compete on that basis. Americans don't raise their kids to sew t-shirts in sweatshops.

We lead the world in high tech manufacturing. Those are the jobs we have now and the ones we need to keep.

One way to do that is to improve our schools. They currently suck, because they're run by Democrats and educrats.

They need to be privatized, to develop the intellectual capital we need to compete.

That's yet another area where the Democrats fail miserably. They are chasing textile jobs and the cheap toy manufacturing jobs, that will NEVER come back.

Not to mention public sector jobs, that don't pay the bills, they ARE the bills.

Democrats are wrong about everything, but espeically about the economy.

AnninCa,
This is the answer:
1. Slash corporate tax rate to 15% (currently the 2nd highest on earth @ 35%).
2. Drill for oil everywhere possible in the US.
3. Start Nuke plant cons't in US (min 25 new plants).
4. Write every taxpayer in the US economy a $1 million dollar check.
5. Send all members of Congress and the President on an extended vacation (minimum 3 years).
#1 attracts overseas investment and provides a favorable economic environment for GROWTH.
#2 & #3 puts to work hundreds of thousands of people, creating JOBS.
#4 creates instant and real economic stimulus, people would pay down/off mortgages (helps lenders/banks), pay down/off credit card debt, people buy homes, cars, durable goods, etc. This expenditure is approx $150 million and is a miniscule number in comparison to the orgy of spending incurred in the last year.
#5 is self-explanatory.
Any questions?

But in the pic I always saw it as some goofball leaping up the steps with goofy enthusiasm like a total child idiot.

John the Libertarian on November 3, 2009 at 11:12 AM

LOL. You paint a familiar picture there. I still cringe when I remember one of my kids acting like a moron in front of some girl he liked and falling backward down a step right on his butt. Beets don't even come close to describing his face.

Obama: I wuz just boppin' along and all of a sudden some jerk throws this step in front of me...

Another item missing from the poll and its report: the party split in the sample. The CNN/Opinion Research poll does not include any data on its survey respondents on party identification, a rather unusual omission for a political poll.

I've never seen CNN disclose this info in their "polls".

FYI their polling is now run by Vinod Gupta, a longtime Clinton suckup. They used to partner with Gallup but threw them under the bus a couple of years ago.

Every manufacturer seems to be moving to Mexico or other 3rd world countries. We know protectionism isn’t the answer.
Gee.

What could possibly be driving manufacturing and industry out of the country to places where they can be more competitive with the rest of the world.

Could be higher taxes, unionization, over-regulation and threats from Washington.

No. That has NOTHING to do with companies trying to remain profitable under an Administration that sees the profit motive as an "EVIL."

Atlas is shrugging. Wake up.

I thought it was a bit humourous that the CNN reporting of this mentioned the actual results from election.
Results that their pre-election poll missed quite drastically and in Obama's direction. Astrology predicts election results better than CNN's method.
We could safely take 6 percent away from the 54 that CNN now claims are still in approval of Obama.
