Dirty trick: Dems paying for third-party robocalls in New Jersey
posted at 8:11 pm on November 2, 2009 by Allahpundit
I guess we finally have a solid answer to the question of whether Daggett’s hurting Christie or Corzine more by staying in the race.
The Democratic State Committee now admits paying for a robocall to Somerset County voters that slams Republican Chris Christie and promotes independent gubernatorial candidate Christopher Daggett.
A Democratic spokeswoman says the party’s chairman, Joe Cryan, was not aware of the robocalls when he denied that the state committee had anything to do with them yesterday afternoon.
Cryan, who told PolitickerNJ.com yesterday afternoon that the Democratic State Committee had “absolutely” nothing to do with the call, could not immediately be reached for comment…
Before the Democrats owned up to it, Daggett media advisor Bill Hillsman said the call might be a Republican trick to generate a sympathetic newspaper story.
Since Ed’s post this morning, three new polls have hit the wires: Democracy Corps has Corzine by five, Survey USA has Christie by three, and Monmouth has Corzine by two, with their polling director calling the race one of the most volatile he’s ever seen. All I can say is that I agree wholeheartedly with Capitol Confidential: “It speaks volumes that the Democratic party in New Jersey feels the best use of their resources is to promote a third-party’s candidate instead of their own.” Politically speaking, a Christie win tomorrow would be pure gravy to McDonnell’s walkover in Virginia and a Hoffman upset in NY-23, but on a gut level, it would be deeply depressing to think that a Republican can’t win in a blue state even in a political climate like this with an incumbent as feeble as Corzine. You might as well just cancel the general election going forward and let the Democratic primary decide who the governor is. For god’s sake, Jerseyans, Corzine? Really?

You also have to realize that New Jersey is more corrupt than Chicago… so if Corzine wins, it’s more a direct result of election fraud on behalf of Corzine’s cornies.

Yeah if the GOP can’t win tomorrow, might as well close up shop.

If Democrats were only dirty they’d only be a minor problem . . . but they go way beyond dirty and have entered into the realm of deplorable filth.

I still think Christie will win.
Regardless I think the biggest win tomorrow would be Hoffman. That was for the soul of the GOP.

You can bet the farm that the funding links to the stimulus money. What in the hell do you think they didn’t spend it for to revive the economy. For their personal use in funding future elections and buying votes in congress. If we did have true transparency the world would know and Axelrod and Rahm would be heading to federal prison or a firing squad..

NJ voters just like high taxes and economic mediocrity. The Republicans aren’t offering that.
BadgerHawk on November 2, 2009 at 8:20 PM
There are already more absentee ballots cast than there were LAST YEAR during the Presidential race of the Messiah–which was reportedly the most participated race evah.
On top of that, over 3,000 of the ballots do not have matching signatures. And guess what, Corzine is petitioning the SoS to give a waiver for signature matching.
Not to mention they’re getting illegals to vote, going into hospitals getting ballots filled out, etc.
It’s a complete mess… all at the hands of SEIU and ACORN.

I think this race is going to come down to intensity. It’s not going to be easy taking this nation back. We have to fight dirty tricks and voter fraud.
But I am hoping the Tea Party movement has made inroads – even in NJ.
So we’ll see how many hit the polls tomorrow.

Since Obama sent one of his political advisors to run Corzine’s campaign, mysteriously Daggett appeared as a candidate. This is Chicago politics in NJ.
I know many liberals who voted for Corzine in my city in Bergen County who is voting for Christie. They love Obama, but hate the douche who’s governor.
I am praying for Christie to win. I can’t stand that rat face being my governor for four more years.

I smell voter fraud coming. Absentee ballots. No need to check signatures for a match. The thing about Democrat voter fraud is that it is as predictable as high tide. They don’t just practice it. They rely on it. It is a staple to them.
They way they see it is if they get elected then it is impossible to get the election overturned and if they lose then know one will care.
I hope Christie is prepared to fight against election theft.
If he loses because of it he may end up like Norm Coleman.

I dunno AP, the governor’s race in Jersey hasn’t been this close in decades. I think it is a positive that a Republican can be this close in such a deep blue state. Having said that, I think a win for Christie would be huge, but a strong showing will also send a strong message to Washington elites that even blue staters aren’t buying what the libs are selling anymore.

The local radio station here constantly repeats: one in four families in NJ has someone working for the government. Nearly all of these government workers are unionized. The unions have been sending out letters and emails, robo-calling and phone-banking since October 1. It is a massive assault from all sides. Their spiel is: Vote for the devil you know! and If you vote for Christie you will be laid off!
All union workers have Election Day off. This is their busiest time of the year. Hell, the unions would give up their Christmas holiday before they’d give up Election Day.
And then you’ve got all the libs in the cities…..
And the corruption…..
And the inevitable election fraud…..
Gonna be tough. I hope we can pull it off. Lord knows I’m trying.
IrishEi on November 2, 2009 at 8:29 PM
Well most NJers are idiots especially the newcomers. Oh wait. They are not idiot. They get some freebies from corrupt Democrats in NJ.

Most people in Blue States are like that. They profess as Christians but forsake anything that is TRUE and GOOD.
TheAlamos on November 2, 2009 at 8:29 PM
As I’ve said before, this is New Jersey, the dems and the unions have owned it for decades. I have a glimmer of hope that Christie will pull it out, but not much. A Christie win defies NJ polictical logic: vote early, vote often, vote dead and then bring the dog for a turn

If these political calls were exempted from the no-call-list because they are supposed to have some sort of legitimate political purpose, then maybe they can be sued for taking advantage of the exemption with a false pretense. I think it’s fraud regardless of whether no-call-list was used, actually. Unleash the lawyers.

$46 is cheap! That’s a little racket they have going in NJ. They will write you a seatbelt ticket as a “warning”. You cannot contest seatbelt fines in court. I once was nailed for doing 64 mph in a 45 mph zone. I should have had a ticket with 2-4 points on my license. Instead the local Jersey cop wrote me up for a seatbelt violation. It wasn’t $46. I remember that it was $60 – $70 ten years ago.

I heard Tammany Hall in New York used to be equally as bad, but that was a long time ago.
The problem is that the Chicago Daley machine has been spreading nationwide in the form of ACORN. And New Jersey has turned out to be very fertile ground for that species of weed.

I got a robocall which turns in to a conference call you can participate in with our Democrat congressman at 7:23 tonight. Where the hell did they get my cell phone number?
Also, it was only a few weeks ago that my uncle mentioned getting a call that, after my experience tonight, sounds identical.
FYI, it wasn’t worth my time to have any “input” on the call, so I hung up after first joining the call and then listening to him yammer about the format. This is Vermont, the only state to send a self proclaimed communist to Washington. Discussing anything with our politicians is an incredible waste of time.

In a sane world, Jon Corzine would have no chance of being re-elected. However, this is not a sane world; it’s New Jersey, where corruption is an art form, as is voter fraud.
If Corzine wins, I will not tolerate any bitching from anyone who either voted for Corzine or would have voted for Christie, but who chose to sit on their a$$es tomorrow.

Minnesota is dead to me after electing Franken and New Jersey is most likely next. Earlier today I was pretty hopeful that Christie might pull it out, that the late break would go in his favor and he could win by 7 but now after reading this story and hearing about the absurd absentee ballot system which is just begging for fraud, I think Corzine will sleaze his way out of this one. New Jersey voters are stupid enough to let it be close enough for slime like Corzine to manipulate the results.

When they move they get everybody’s attention.
Most of the precious metals and gems that exist on earth are still within their grasp and control.
Most rocks are good, solid foundations upon which to build lasting impressions.
No liberal ever has measured up to any of that.
BTW, I have NEVER seen a rock with it’s head up it’s a$$, have never seen one grow fins, and they are not simple.

To beat the Democratic machine in New Jersey you need a better than 5 % lead. Otherwise, tomorrow, a beaming Corzine will thank his constituents for his “miraculous victory”-dead people, cartoon characters, bussed in out of state “voters”, individuals voting multiple times at various precincts-being bussed there by ACORN and SEIU “volunteers”, illegal aliens-same bussing scenario-not to mention these same ACORN and SEIU thugs “losing” ballot boxes in known “Christie” territory as well as intimidation, extortion ‘ad infinitum’.
