You guys will dump on him as a johnny-come-lately...

Come on Allah! Gingrich was wrong, bottom line. Brilliant men of high intellect remain human. Even thought they assign themselves some sort of god-like infallibility the fact is that they err just like all of the rest of us. And when they err they simply admit it. And in some cases, apologize. Its called humility. Something this generation knows little of. Remember? "Humble yourself and you will be exalted. Exalt yourself and you will be humbled". Gingrich wants back in the good graces of Conservatives? He needs a bit of humility and he'll be re-admitted instantly. Truth is we need him. But not in his present state. Darvin Dowdy

In a classic scene from a ’50s western, Sarah and Newt are about to square-off in front of the saloon at high noon, hands poised over their holstered .44s. When the smoke clears there will be only one to decide the future of Elephant Gulch for years to come.

The crowd is beginning to gather, eagerly awaiting the long overdue shoot-out. High-noon will come with the closing of the polls tomorrow and for better or for worse the issue will be decided. The sherrif, the preacher, the shop owners and most of the good citizens of Elephant Gulch are hoping that youth, skill and principle will win the day.

Gila Monster Gingrich is down in the dust, clutching a smoking revolver and a perforated left foot.

Something tells me ol' Newt was pounding back the shots before he decided to Twitter his endorsement. He needs to get on Greta, or call up his buddy Hannity and make a public announcement. Twitter isn't sufficient.

This must be the first step in a long journey to get our country back from the democrats AND republicans. Conservatism has been dormant too long. Even most republican leaders ignored this situation until they had to accept its inevitable conclusion. If Obama wins, America loses. Its really that simple.

Newt big argument was that she pledged to to vote against the Cap and Tax bill. As if that means something. First of all, liberals lie! Obama promised that 98% of us would see a tax cut. He has tried his best to get a tax hike in Cap and Tax and ObamaCare, not to mention many other taxes on the way. Second, even if she votes against Cap and Tax, they wil slightly change the bill and then she will vote for it. How many ObamaCare bills have they written so far??? Did Dede promise to vote against every possible version? Did Dede allow the doctors to put an explosive chip in her head that allows the people to trigger if she breaks a promise?

And what was that strategy? That Scozzafava was a reliable vote against the Democrats. That has blown up in your face, as you were told it would.

Does having a Master Plan justify deceit? Why can’t we have open elections for sincere candidates? Why MUST Republican politics be about telling the right lies at the right time to the right blocs?

The conference call between Rahm Emanuel and Dede Scozzafava tells me everything I need to know about her. I was totally unsurprised when she endorsed Owens. I thought, 'Good. Halloween is over, and the masks drops.'

I'm just glad Newt can't go on FOX or any other channel now and tell Sarah Palin she needs to "bone up" or presume to speak for Republicans. The party has a new standard bearer. American Thinker has been all over this race, but here's their latest. C4P has it on their site.

New York's 23rd Congressional District has become the site of a showdown between RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and conservatives. The conservatives are winning -- but the RINOs are not being gracious in defeat. Now the RINOs are showing how much party unity means to them. They have no loyalty to conservatives; why should conservatives have any loyalty to them?

The latest showdown came when ultra-liberal State Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava became the Republican candidate in that district. The ACORN racketeering arm, the Working Families Party, backed her. Yet the Republican old guard backed this useful idiot. Newt Gingrich backed this tool. The name "Republican" was all that mattered to them. Not principle.

But Sarah Palin, a true conservative, instead endorsed Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman. And so did other conservatives. The Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, said: "Electing Doug Hoffman will send a clear message that cannot be denied: conservatives must stand on principle." Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Mary Fallin said that Hoffman had "reminded Americans everywhere that principles come before party affiliation." Kansas senatorial candidate Todd Tiahrt explained the choice: "The Republican Party is either going to return to the party of fiscal responsibility and consistent conservative principles as it was under Ronald Reagan or it will continue down the path of ‘sporadic moderation.'"

And Saturday, the Arctic Fox had the last laugh: Scozzafava dropped out of the race, saying: "In recent days, polls have indicated that my chances of winning this election are not as strong as we would like them to be." Palin responded generously, writing: "I want to personally thank Republican Dede Scozzafava for acting so selflessly today in the NY District 23 race. Now it's time to cross the finish line with Doug Hoffman so that he can get to work for District 23 and the rest of America."

[...]

But now it's time to clean house. Newt and his ilk will be relegated to the dustbin of history, and deservedly so. Enough with the old, in with the true!

Nothing happens for decades, and then decades happen in a day. So it was with 911, and so it is with Barack Obama in the White House. This terrible compromise between the RINOs and the conservatism is over. In any compromise between individual rights and collectivism, collectivism profits. It's all on the back of the individual. Basta!

The new Republican partiers - Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Allen West - these people are our future. The RINOs belong to the past. It is over for them. It's over for the Newts, for Romneys, the Steeles, the David Keenes, the Norquists, the Lindsey Grahams. Scozzafava's failure was just the beginning. You ain't seen nuthin yet. It is time to kick the RINOs to da curb.

Newt is probably the greatest politician in America when it comes to articulating a position (without the aid of a government paid TOTUS) but he totally lacks the integrity and principles of a simple Joe the Plumber.

Who needs a Brutus walking behind you? I nominate him for the John McCain, "My Friends Across the Isle" award.

I’m concerned with how Newt is acting. I liked “Contract with America” which the Dems turned into “Contract on America”.

The TRUTH is Gingrich has been fibbing about the Contract with America for 15 years...he didn't write it
Larry Turner, Dick Armey, Bill Paxon and bob Walker wrote the Contract with America and Gingrich has been claiming HE DID.

I'm concerned with how Newt is acting. I liked "Contract with America" which the Dems turned into "Contract on America".
Looks like his strategical thinking is coming up short.
I think appeasing to the progressives is stupid, we must educate them, not agree with them.
I like many of Newts ideas, but his strategy stinks.
It seems to me if we have 60% Conservative, or Libertarian leaning, we need to define the Republican party as such.
We really need to start dismantling all the laws restricting Liberty and Freedom, both for the Individual, and for the Economy. Many ex-communist central planning country's have now embraced the idea of a Free Markets.
CATO Institute is doing a great job of showing us the way forward to Freedom. NOTE- "USA is not the most free country in the world any more" We have given up our freedoms, and prostituted the Constitution . If they get Cap and Trade, Public Option Health Care, and BHO gets a second term, the USA will be on the bottom of list of free nations. You see, our home grown communist in the USA , had a free ride, benefiting from our capitalistic society, if they grew up in a communist country, then they would know the truth. Obama had a free ride also, his Communist Mother and Father supporting and educating him. Now they can destroy the country if we don't stop them.

Obama had a free ride also, his Communist Mother and Father supporting and educating him. Now they can destroy the country if we don’t stop them.

Another area that worries me about Newt. I think he is a little naive. On page 32 of the 2009 edition of Real Change he comments how Andy Stern of SEIU understands world markets, and the need for union members to be competitive.
.
Newt what are you smoking?

Gee I bet that attitude goes a long way to getting the communist out of the Whitehouse. Good luck with that gracious attitude. Ever hear of good sportsmanship?

If you sound like this when you win…

A gracious attitude? What part of "fight for the lifeblood of this country" approach don't you understand? Pussyfooting around with the likes of Rinos is not how we ensure our success. Throwing the rat bastards out is how we'll win.

And, we fully intend on winning - regardless of what others think of our attitudes.

Can we please scrape this old barnacle off our hull now? Newt personally broke every plank of the Contract with America
.
Beginning in 1996, he started kneecapping every real conservative from the Congressional Class of 1994. Newt had to resign from Congress in disgrace. He started what George Bush finished - the destruction of the Republican Party.
Newt is like an old tinker who shows up every spring with a cart full of lead pots painted silver. Why are we still buying them? How 'bout we wise up already before our country goes down the tubes.

You guys will dump on him as a johnny-come-lately, but (a) his support for Scozzafava was always strategic, driven more by stopping the Democrats next year than stopping Hoffman and (b) as her most prominent Republican supporter, this is the most important endorsement Hoffman could have right now aside from Scozzafava’s (or maybe Snowe’s or Collins’s).

And what was that strategy? That Scozzafava was a reliable vote against the Democrats. That has blown up in your face, as you were told it would.

Does having a Master Plan justify deceit? Why can't we have open elections for sincere candidates? Why MUST Republican politics be about telling the right lies at the right time to the right blocs?

I'm really upset with Newt over this one. He and Hannity beat the conservative drum weekly over stuff like this--Reagan principles, lower taxes, American taxpayers, "back in 1994" and yada yada yada--but now, when there is a true opportunity to back a conservative, he falls short--WTFO?

I’m a right winger and I wish you would STFU. You may be the most principled conservative on the planet but at some point you’re going to want to win.

Mike, I was wondering what do we vote for? Voting against Democrats is one thing, can't I accomplish that voting for the American Communist Party candidate? Can't I accomplish the goal of voting against Pelosi by voting for an independant that has no chance of winning? Why should I vote for the Republican, who has the same policies as the Democrat? Strategic think you all claim is the important goal. PFUI. We've seen what happens when we vote Republican just because. Newt and the boys were not bad when they had a Democrat to oppose in the White House.

When they had another "Republican" in the White House, it was spend like there's no tommorrow, trample civil liberties, and tell the Conservatives to shut up or the Democrats will win. What's the difference? Could the Democrats have violated the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendment in the PATRIOT ACT too? Sure they could, and did. I can't think of one thing that the Republicans acheived that the Democrats didn't want too as well.

Amnesty for illegals? Who led the charge? Bush and McCain. Waiting until they had lost the majority to bring up drilling in the US? Why the Republicans obviously would rather use production of domestic energy sources as a political ploy instead of the National Strategic issue it is.

So Mike, you'll excuse me if I don't jump on your bandwagon. It's a little crowded with all the Republican First Lemmings who claim party should trump principals. I'll wait until you Republican First guys figure out what you are in favor of, you know, what your for, before I consider following you. So far, I can't see much to support in your party either. Perhaps I'll vote against the Democrats by voting for Mickey Mouse.

Now, it is time for all you left-of-center Republicans in NY-23 to STFU, put your principles aside and vote for Hoffman. Can’t do it? Now you know how I felt when you bastard foisted McCain on me and then told me I had to STFU and be unquestioning and uncritical of a rat bastard political traitor.

Exactly. Frum et al keep whining about the big tent while demonstrating their intolerance for the right base. It's latent guilt for having sucked up to Obama and foisted McCain on us, but do they get it now?!? Hmm??? Bueller???

Newt can begin to redeem himself not just by endorsing Hoffman, but by admitting that he was dead wrong in withholding that endorsement from the beginning. As should now be blatantly apparent since Scozzafava has endorsed the D.
