Exciting conclusion to Politico hit piece: Palin not going to Iowa after all; Update: Slate smears Palin

posted at 5:31 pm on October 30, 2009 by Allahpundit

Thus ends the saga of how she shocked Iowa’s conservative establishment by cruelly and greedily demanding a massive speaking fee to attend a pro-life event. Except … she never demanded a fee and never told anyone she was willing or able to attend, facts which you would have stumbled across in Politico’s piece had you read down, oh, 30 paragraphs or so.

Bottom line: No speaking engagement, no fee, no story.

Iowa Family Policy Center ACTION received word this morning that Governor Sarah Palin is unable to accept our speaking invitation due to her book tour contractual commitments, which cannot be changed.

We extended our invitation knowing she would be in the middle of her book tour and the chances of her being able to accept any invitations were extremely slim.

She has asked if she could speak at a future mutually agreeable date. She will not accept any fees for her appearance.

To complete your reading about this sorry episode, click here and stick with it. Exit quotation: “Between Kochel and Albrecht, this sounds suspiciously like yet another case of former Romney staffers ‘going rogue’ and badmouthing their meal ticket’s perceived competition.”

Update: That didn’t take long. Scroll down about halfway to see how the principled liberals at Slate have already assimilated Politico’s smear.

Which is really stupid on their part. If Palin does not run, Romney, Huckster, or any of them would be on their hands and knees begging for her endorsement. This is why the GOP is dead to me, they have no idea how they are destroying themselves by all of this back biting. Idiots.

That’s where the “I can see Russia from my front porch” type quotes originate and then are spoon-fed to the Kos Krowd for multi-year consumption. Palin would easily defeat Obama in 2012 if few people knew about her right now. Unfortunately, her first impression in the spotlight turned off too many voters, and furthermore aligning herself with the McCain wing of the GOP hurts her standing among actual Conservatives.

They’re wasting their time. Mitt is done. He can’t even edge out the Rev/Gov. He’s done. The 2012 Repub candidate hasn’t got a chance in hell anyway against a corrupt Dem Administration. There’ll be more voter fraud than actual legitimate votes. Obama will win by 750 Million votes and the media won’t even raise an eyebrow. [yes, I know there's only 320Mil+or- Americans. Obama will still win by 750 Million votes and 720 Million of them will be absentee votes coming directly from Acorn headquarters.]

I feel the same way. I liked her at CPAC but kept a wait and see stance. Over the last few months, the attacks (from left and right) have made me look at her more carefully and I like what I see.

The left’s hated of Bush made me warmer toward him that I might have been otherwise. Funny how that can work. But one has to be likable and have some integrity to begin with so that won’t work with Obama.

After Hewitt wrote the book A Mormon in the White House?: 10 Things Every American Should Know about Mitt Romney , Robert Stacy McCain of The Washington Times wrote that “Hewitt finds himself under suspicion of being a cheerleader for the Romney campaign.”[10] Hewitt donated $2,300 to the Mitt Romney Presidential campaign in 2008, as well as many other Republican candidates over the years, including U.S. Senator Norm Coleman and President George W. Bush. In the leadup to the Feb. 5, 2008, Republican primaries, Hewitt became known for the slogan “A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain.”"

In much more recent times, the former MSM were ALWAYS claiming, no matter what they wrote/broadcast about G. Bush: “It’s not about the truth of the story….it’s the seriousness of the charges.”

Unfortunately, millions of totally mindless Americans bought into this crap.

With many clearly corrupt stories floating around Politico, it seems most likely they would be the ones to push false stories to embarass anyone they do not like. A story that slams Palin and blames Romney for it would be right up their alley.

I see someone inferring guilt, but I don’t see proof of guilt. Find that and get back to me. Other than that it is as disgusting to smear Romney as it is to smear Palin. Only disgusting people play along

One day Mike Allen walked to the back of the room where Jonny was, and Jonny had his hand down his pants.

Allen asked, “Jonny, what are you doing?”

Then, Jonny said, “It hurts down there.”

“Well then, you need to go to the nurse and see if you can go home”, said Allen.

A little while later, Jonny came back to his desk and sat back down.

Then Allen came to the back of the room again, and Jonny had his dick haging out of his pants.

Allen said, “Jonny, what’s that doing hanging out of your pants?!”

Jonny said, “My mommy said if I can stick it out until noon, she’ll come and pick me up.”

Jonny is sitting at work, and Mike Allen says that an interesting phenomenon of nature is that only humans stutter, no other animal in the world does this.

Jonny screams “Not correct, Mike!”

“Please explain, Jonny,” replies Mike.

“Well, Mike, the other day I was playing with my cat on the verandah. The neighbours’ Great Dane came around the corner, and my cat went “ffffffffff! ffffffffffff! ffffffffff!”, and before he could say “F*CK OFF!”, the dog ate him!”
