Video: NRSC’s “Paranormal Taxivity”

posted at 2:20 pm on October 29, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

The NRSC has a spooky ad just in time for this week’s big event. Halloween? That’s nowhere near as frightening as an ObamaCare bill running 1900 pages with a Congress that doesn’t want to take the time to read it. Thrill to the sound of legislators making excuses for not doing their jobs! Gasp at the rapidly-growing blob of legalese that threatens to choke off your choices on medical care! Shriek if you know what your legislators did this summer (and autumn)!

They’re gonna spread something … but it sure isn’t happiness.

Perhaps they should run it in NY-23… against the candidate who supports the Obama economic plan… that would be the GOP’s candidate.

PS: I get the difference between the House and the Senate, but the principle is the same.

mankai on October 29, 2009 at 2:23 PM

1900 is just to many pages for our congresscritters to read. Nancy made sure there is no public option, no higher taxes, and no mandates to buy insurance. So there’s nothing to worry about.

I like the video. It works for me.

Brat4life on October 29, 2009 at 2:25 PM

And perhaps the NRSC should dump support for Charlie Crist after his connection to what is potentially a violation of federal law.

thirteen28 on October 29, 2009 at 2:25 PM

Until the NRSC & NRCC demonstrate a pattern of support for basic conservative principles, they’re getting exactly jack squat from my wallet. They can run all the cute little ads they want; it won’t make a difference.

P*** off, RINOs.

OhioCoastie on October 29, 2009 at 2:28 PM

Thrill to the sound of legislators administrators making excuses for not doing their jobs!

With the above correction Ed, you have perfectly described my ‘enthusiasm’ for my school administrators at work.

Badger40 on October 29, 2009 at 2:28 PM

I prefer to not having my skin in their game.

fourdeucer on October 29, 2009 at 2:30 PM

I like the use of the kids singing Obama songs at the end.

WashJeff on October 29, 2009 at 2:31 PM

The little girl singing at the end was a particularly inspired (and by “inspired”, I mean “totally creepy”) touch.

Hesiodos on October 29, 2009 at 2:31 PM

Well done.

Christien on October 29, 2009 at 2:32 PM

OMG I about pooped when the kid broke in with the creepy “obama song”.

jeffthevoter on October 29, 2009 at 2:33 PM

wow, the cult kids are the end were a nice touch. They should every ad from now on with the ode to obama.

joeindc44 on October 29, 2009 at 2:34 PM

Pelosi, and company….if you all like spreading manure so much, I know some good ranchers around here, with lots of cows. I’m sure they’d appreciate your spreading abilities. ;)

The Horror… the horror..

Juno77 on October 29, 2009 at 2:45 PM

So perfect!

Abby Adams on October 29, 2009 at 2:48 PM

They misspelled “vistiing” on the donate page at the very end.

Tax and spell.

Shy Guy on October 29, 2009 at 2:57 PM

Good ad… BUT I STILL WILL NOT DONATE!
My money IS going to individual candidates.

Sorry Rep.elites. YOU MUST EARN MY TRUST BACK!

katy on October 29, 2009 at 3:00 PM

Good ad. Not donating.

ctmom on October 29, 2009 at 3:02 PM

OMG, that was great! The song at the end was the scariest part!!!!

Stephanie on October 29, 2009 at 3:09 PM

It’s nice to show the fools for what they are but the rinos are right behind them.

tim c on October 29, 2009 at 3:20 PM

I wish some of these ads would make TV

gophergirl on October 29, 2009 at 3:25 PM

Remember, the NRSC is the group that backed Specter and Chaffey over conservative opponents. The NRSC backs Crist over Rubio.

Clark1 on October 29, 2009 at 3:29 PM

love it!!!

ginaswo on October 29, 2009 at 4:00 PM

Boxer: yep, buying votes and selling the country is hard work… not any normal traitor can do that, it takes a special type of person…Senator.

rgranger on October 29, 2009 at 4:01 PM

How appropriate that the sponsor of this thread is GE — you know, the guys who are selling this scary junk through their NBC, MSNBC affiliates in order to profit from cap & tax. They are disgusting. And then they pretend they are on our side!

Christian Conservative on October 29, 2009 at 4:34 PM

I figured this would more over-produced mush, but it wasn’t half bad. Must have been an accident.

No donations from me.

rrpjr on October 29, 2009 at 4:49 PM

Parannoying Activity is funnier… and the girl is better looking.

ScottMcC on October 29, 2009 at 4:55 PM

snicker

Mad Mad Monica on October 29, 2009 at 5:14 PM

It’s a pity about the spelling mistake on the last card – “vistiing”… It spoils the whole thing.

The NRSC would do well to stick to making these kinds of ads and let us pick the candidates.

This is a good ad. Unfortunately, it will only run on YouTube – and no where else – so it’s little more than masturbation. But … it’s something I guess.

The scariest part for me was the little girl singing to “Dear Leader” at the end. Chill up my spine.

HondaV65 on October 29, 2009 at 5:34 PM

HondaV65 Yep, I’ms still shivering! Unfortunately, for America, Halloween continues….

lovingmyUSA on October 29, 2009 at 6:21 PM

I like the use of the kids singing Obama songs at the end.

WashJeff on October 29, 2009 at 2:31 PM

WashJeff and others above:

Me too – a horror film trope put to good use.

Concerned Women for America used this same clip in one of their recent ads and it’s fun to think about the overexcited creator of that song getting upset about how it’s being used.

Certainly fits much better here as chill-producer than played straight.

inviolet on October 29, 2009 at 7:55 PM

BTW

the overexcited creator of that song

gives me almost as much creeps as the kids (SKIP TO 2:44 – 2:50)

inviolet on October 29, 2009 at 7:57 PM
