Obamateurism of the Day

posted at 8:05 am on October 29, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

How hard is it for a Democratic President to fill a hall in Massachusetts when campaigning for a Democratic governor?  According to the Boston Herald and Jules Crittenden, one does not need to look to Virginia to see a big enthusiasm gap for a Democrat in the first year of Hopeandchange.  Barack Obama and Deval Patrick put together couldn’t fill more than half of the Westin Copley.  In, as I mentioned earlier, Massachusetts, one of the bluest of the blue states:

Geez. I’m sure Deval is glad to have the $600,000 grand, but maybe Barry should have done him a favor and stayed in D.C. To avoid the Bush-like embarrassment of low turnout and protestors. And we aren’t even a year into the first term yet.

Obama appeared to sense the big mistake made in appearing at the political equivalent of a Mary Richards dinner party, telling the crowd audience:

“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race … ”

That ought to fire them up!  Maybe Obama should remind his staff of that … and perhaps ask why a Democrat would have a “tough race” in Massachusetts with Obama in the White House.  He could take a peek next door in Virginia and ask himself the same question.

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

Seriously, The Washington Examiner has a headline this morning where they refer to those who still believe the hype of last January. They call these people bitter-enders. It fits anybody who still is offering uncritical loyalty to the filthy lying coward in the White House.

Bush had protestors. But “low turnout”? He usually could turn out the GOP contributors.

Due, you really need to spend some time in your office. You know the Oval one. The place you got hired to work at. I mean seriously, he must only spend what and hour or two at work every single day?

Johnnyreb on October 29, 2009 at 8:17 AM

Mass isn’t all that enamored with its own mini-hopenchange, Deval Patrick. He basically ran the same campaign as Obama only on a smaller scale, some have even said that his campaign was a dress rehersal. He ran on nothing but vague promises of “Together we can” (sound familiar?), and villifying Mitt Romney. Once he got into office he spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on new curtains for his office, gave his wife an assistant with a rediculously high salary, and even used taxpayer money to buy a new Cadillac for himself (apparently the Ford Crown Vick that Romney and others used had horrors! 80,000 miles and a broken heater! So what’s a purveyor of hopenchange to do? Not repair the heater and change the oil but buy a brand new Caddy with taxpayer money!!)

So Mass isn’t all that thrilled with Barry’s mini-me. Of course the state is so corrupted by unions that it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Devalue won a second term.

One of the Mass commenters can fill in more details, but that’s it in a nutshell.

I beg to differ. I found the Obama appearance as reported there to be entirely ghoulish: here we have this one guy who has devoted his lifetime to working, demanding, insisting upon the entirely opposite ideals, goals and ideas that encourage most in our military, certainly as to the U.S. Defense, and he has this outright, pointed GOAL to go hover over the bodies of deceased military, who lost their lives in service to this country, on deployed missions (as did the DEA agents who were among the military).

Obama is reported to have gone intentionally on this “mission” to go loiter over their dead bodies inside the plane that carried them home, before they were taken off the plane, alone (with only one military attendant present), to more or less “spend time” in their, dwelling.

I find this entirely disgusting. As I also wonder who taught Obama to salute like he’s pictured doing so on FOX this morning, surely that’s yet another pose by the guy who just can’t seem to decide whether to support our military with what they need and when while he runs around playing with balls and eating fancy meals on the taxpayers in the White House.

I’m disgusted by Barack Obama’s theatrical showing and ghoulish loitering over the bodies of the deceased military. Just disgusted by him and his behavior. Disgusted. Disgusted by him.

In a word, YES, PLEASE. Get the filthy lying rat bastard [that's a technically correct term when applied to L'il Barry Dunham] out of my White House! I’m with HH here. I’m not picky I don’t care if he packs, or slinks away in the night, gone is gone.

Blacksmith8 on October 29, 2009 at 9:43 AM

Another OT, but I love this line by Flake:

“He who spends time passing trivial legislation may find himself out of time to read healthcare bill,” said Flake.

Statement about refusing to vote for Confucius’ birthday recognition.

Many Americans notice this awful display for what it is…

So, as highhopes would say, the filty lying coward in the whitehouse also has no shame.

fourdeucer on October 29, 2009 at 9:44 AM

On the positive side, Ted Kennedy is celebrating 62 days of sobriety today… ;)

I could here the laughter echoing down the hall. Dorian FTW!!!

Blacksmith8 on October 29, 2009 at 9:46 AM

“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race … ”

It would have been more inspiring to say; “Sure Deval Patrick sucks, but he IS a Democrat!”

Lourdes on October 29, 2009 at 8:49 AM

I had the same reaction as you did.

It’s the same way I feel when I see the recently first-time -proud Michelle doing the “Support the Troops” PSA that’s been running lately. Kinda like the Pope doing commercials for Planned Parenthood.

Aw, c’mon, Jeff, we’re getting it slowly but surely. Doyle going, Lawton dropping out, it’s a trend I tell ya.

Now if Feingold and Kohl would just take their cue from those other two….

VelvetElvis on October 29, 2009 at 9:56 AM

Maybe Obama should remind his staff of that … and perhaps ask why a Democrat would have a “tough race” in Massachusetts with Obama in the White House. He could take a peek next door in Virginia and ask himself the same question.

Virginia is coming back to its roots. But why is the Democrat having trouble in Joyzy?

If Walker wins and becomes Governor, I’ll start to feel a bit better. Let Tommy take on Feingold.

My feelings exactly. Sorry, but I can’t give him credit for “feeling”, not after the high time he has been acting as a traveling suitcase, or a goof golf ball. These soldiers could possibly have died because of the military policies, or lack thereof, of Oditherer.
Try as he might, he doesn’t make up for the lack of respect he has for our service-people, and for the lack of respect these same people feel toward him. Highest mortality count in the whole war was in the last two months…funny coincidence that this was the same period in which a plan of strategy sat waiting on his desk.

lovingmyUSA on October 29, 2009 at 10:22 AM

impeachment would be the preferred result rather than his being a one termer…

doriangrey on October 29, 2009 at 8:11 AM

We saw with Clinton that impeachment is slow and doesn’t net the desired results, my hopes are rooted in something much quicker…..like Michelle catching him him and that creepy Reggie Love blasting some yayho and re-enacting the Gimp scene from Pulp Fiction.

ncc770 on October 29, 2009 at 8:33 AM

Biden may be stupid, but he’s no Marxist wannabe dictator…

doriangrey on October 29, 2009 at 8:43 AM

Not only that, but even Biden isn’t stupid enough to miss the writing on the wall if his boss got canned. He would have to tack hard to the right to keep his own approval ratings above single digits.

Maryland, Massachusetts what’s the difference, same @#!$, different shovel.

Alden Pyle on October 29, 2009 at 10:28 AM

True. Impeachment does not mean removal from office. They are 2 different things.

And, President Kobe Beef isn’t going to resign on his own like Nixon did, no matter how bad things get.

UltimateBob on October 29, 2009 at 10:48 AM

Or just dig up Ted’s stinking, rotting corpse and lean him against the podium.

Hear! Hear!

Is there anyway your words could reach Mr. Obama’s two big ears and really register?

Sir Napsalot on October 29, 2009 at 11:02 AM

Obama appeared to sense the big mistake made in appearing at the political equivalent of a Mary Richards dinner party, telling the crowd audience:
“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race …

Need a moment?

Obama: the one half-termer.

Lourdes on October 29, 2009 at 8:07 AM

That sounds a lot better.

mrt721 on October 29, 2009 at 11:04 AM

Psssssttt … balloon boy heads to earth.

tarpon on October 29, 2009 at 8:26 AM

Someone needs to photoshop the Obama Logo seal on the balloon boy’s silver bubble as the symbol of this folly.

profitsbeard on October 29, 2009 at 11:18 AM

Dude, you really need to spend some time in your office. You know the Oval one. The place you got hired to work at. I mean seriously, he must only spend what and hour or two at work every single day?

Johnnyreb on October 29, 2009 at 8:17 AM

No need, Nancy, Harry and Rahm have it covered. Obama just tells them what he wants the end result to be and they figure out how best to screw the Country.
