when in fact people’s opinion of Huck was pretty solid based on what Huck said and did…not what Rush said.

Yeah, I notice two things myself. First, I point out Limbaugh lied about somebody for his own political reasons. Basically, the NFL did to him, what he did to Mike Huckabee. Instead of saying, “Yeah, that was unfair,” as most reasonable people would, you run another dishonest attack ad against Huckabee.

I mean you want to show a crucifix in your ad, fine do it, but don’t act like we’re paranoiacs for noticing.

Second thing, you attack a “wish-you-well ad” at Christmas time — on Christmas — I mean a floating cross in a Christmas commercial. Oh, the horror!!! To even bring that up. To make it an issue. It reveals how pathetic you are and I don’t think you realize it.

If you’ve never read this contemporaneous defense of Limbaugh’s comments about McNabb by Allen Barra, who truly is one of the better sportswriters in America, do it now.

Barra is one of the best sports writers around, but he missed the mark with the Slate piece. At one point he discounts McNabb’s running ability based on his propensity to be sacked (at least in relation to Brad Johnson). The stack statistic is more a function of the quality of the offensive line. If Johnson has an extra second before protection breaks down then he’ll be more efficient.

Also, in 2003 McNabb had terrible receivers. Compare his QB rating in 2003 with 2004 after the Eagles signed Terrell Owens and Brian Westbrook developed as a passing target.

That must be why we watch so many grown boys (and I mean boys) chase a hunk of pigskin down 100 yds of grass and run headlong into each other, hitting the other guy as hard as they can, and then smearing their opponents’ faces into the turf when the defeated are denied their goal and taunted over it by the winners.

You mean that kind of unity that allows every single team member in the NFL to wear the “not so fervently coveted anymore because everyone gets one” Super Bowl Ring, given only to the most mediocre and average football players lucky enough to have a good agents and not tear an ACL in practice? Personally, I’d rather watch a bunch of tough guys beat the snot out of each other and only the toughest and smartest come away with Victory, but then again, my Heroes all wear the Uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, not some bunch of fairies and racist *ssholes like the NFL players who won’t work as well for a white coach or a white owner as they supposedly would for a black owner in YOUR NFL. So I actually get to see my Heroes do what I like to see. Kill our enemies, protect the innocent, build new democracies and improving economies where only tyranny and poverty existed before.

And tougher on their worst day than any p*ssy who works for the NFL.

LOL. Hate to break it to you but the “Man from Hope!” did just fine at that himself with his stomach turning pandering, embarrassingly obvious manipulations, and generally treating voters like me like we had perception and intelligence of a fencepost. Didn’t need any assistance from Maha Rushie.

Two of my favorite greatest Huckster hits: his commercial lighting the shelf to make it look like an obvious crucifix and his “what who me what where?” act at the press conference (something Mr. Limbaugh unfortunately defended him on by the way) as if we were all paranoid. I mean you want to show a crucifix in your ad, fine do it, but don’t act like we’re paranoiacs for noticing.

And of course who could forget the time he gathered the press together to announce he’d never air an attack ad against Romney ever again, shut off lights and… showed them his new Romney attack ad.

Ain’t that the truth?

That’s why I scoffed when listening to Obama’s March 2008 speech calling for a “national dialogue on race.” Geez, even blacks, like Thomas Sowell, who try to have an honest discussion about race are vilified as Uncle Toms and House You Know Whats. What chance does a cracker ass honkie have in such a discussion? Why bother? This is one thing about our society that will never change.

Now that was a politician making some sense! Refreshing.
