Video: Michelle on Harry Reid’s nutty ObamaCare bill

posted at 10:32 pm on October 28, 2009 by Allahpundit

Via Right Scoop, here’s the boss wondering whether Dingy Harry has cocked things up so badly in the Senate that he has no choice now but to try to ram through the public option via reconciliation. Two reasons to think that he won’t: (1) After having been rolled by Joe Liebs, there’s good cause to think he simply isn’t smart enough to pull off a gambit as complicated as reconciliation, and (2) if the GOP cleans up in next week’s state races, the Democrats are going to freak out about trying something as partisan and unilateral as that. Evan Bayh’s already suggesting that he’s prepared to filibuster a vote that would merely bring Reid’s bill to the floor for a debate, which is a step further than even Lieberman went. If you’re eager to foster that fear, humiliate Reid, and send Obama back to the drawing board, send Chris Christie a check tonight. It’s the surest way to get the left to wet its pants.

What about Pelosi’s house bill they’re unveiling tomorrow? So long as the house gets a public option, they’ll just wait until negotiations to put it in, Senate or not.

You mean wee-wee’d up?

UltimateBob on October 28, 2009 at 10:37 PM

Pelosi has to get past Stupak, I think, who has 40 votes against if they do not bring up a vote on abortion. That will be on heck of a divider witht the Dems.

Round Two tomorrow,on the craptastic HealthScare Bill

The Declaration of Independence calls that ‘pretended legislation’

“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation”

Hal-9000 on October 28, 2009 at 10:40 PM

The GOP needs to make the argument that government run health care is unconstitutional daily, publicly, and loudly. They need to run ads with Pelois, Hoyer, and any Dem who scoffs at the question about Obamacare’s Constitutionality.

We also need to support the 2+ year old Enumerated Powers Act that simply states as its purpose “To require Congress to specify the source of authority under the United States Constitution for the enactment of laws, and for other purposes.”

Not very likely. Remember, we’d need two days and two lawyers in order to understand it, so – in the opinion of Your Government – there’s no point.

As long as the Democrats own this Harry,Kennedy,Pelosi
HealthCare Bill, lock, stock, and barrel, and with the theme
of Halloween so close,

i hope,it haunts the Liberal Party for over a hundred years as in a curse,as this bill will no doubt double, and triple
itself over the years in cost overruns scaring the hell out
of any Lefty voters!!

From what I have been able to gather, it looks like the plan will call for negotiated rates for the public option, instead of Medicare +5% that the libs wanted. Spent some time earlier on Open Left looking at comments. They are not too happy.

Seeing The Boss always makes me feel proud to be a conservative.

pedestrian on October 28, 2009 at 11:01 PM

I don’t understand how the Democrats can let a minority lead them by the nose to their own political destruction… MM another conservatve blazing the way. God bless her!

CCRWM on October 28, 2009 at 11:05 PM

If the Dems are smart they will drop this unconstitutional sackful of shizzle. Self-preservation should cause them to vote this bill into the dustbin of bad ideas, thereby throwing Obama under the bus where he will meet many former admirers whom he has tossed there so casually.

I’m sure (typical white) Grandma, Reverend Wright, and so many others will welcome him with open arms.

hillbillyjim on October 28, 2009 at 11:08 PM

You rock MM. pithy and on target. Kudos

Michelle is the best! She can speak on any topic and nail it! (Out of all the tea parties I’ve attended or watched, she has been the best speaker of all.) Wish we had more of her clips here on Hot Air. She’s only the boss after all.

No awkward or weird photos of the Boss, like a moment of winking, so I guess you don’t want to make her look bad or anything.
But other ladies wearing the conservative jersey aren’t so lucky.

Absolutely, he and Pelosi simply don’t know how to run things.

rob verdi on October 29, 2009 at 5:46 AM

Good to see Michelle on Hot Air again. Her take on the issues are generally right on. But let’s remember, these miserable democrats are deceitful and, to them, rules are meant to be broken. I’ll wait and see what happens when the votes are taken. Pray that Liberty prevails.

DerKrieger on October 28, 2009 at 10:53 PM

Yup, this is genuinely a case of use it or loose it. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barrack Obama are “Those that (Heart) Mao“.

They have no respect for the US Constitution, to them it is a dusty old irrelevant document written by misguided racist white men which time has past and should be discarded.

doriangrey on October 29, 2009 at 7:43 AM

Kill this Bill and turn Barry into a lame duck, then a one-term failure, with none of his agenda remaining.

It will be like Barack Obama never existed.

It’s all there for our taking.

There’s no need for anyone to fret. They have announced today that the recession is officially over. Mission Accomplished with honesty and transparency. HopeNchange everyone can believe in.

This presidentcy is a joke as well as is the congress of the USA. We need change now more than we never needed it!

bluegrass on October 29, 2009 at 9:27 AM

Hey Michelle, Has anyone bothered to check with Zell Miller and see how he feels about this charade? I would love to know.

bluegrass on October 29, 2009 at 9:30 AM

Gretchen Carlson on Fox and Friends made a good point this morning about Reid’s plan, while interviewing Claire McCaskill. McCAskill was going on and on about how support for Reid’s plan was not stronger because Congress had not done a good job explaining all the “goodies” in the plan to the public, and once the public understood how they would benefit, the support would grow. Gretchen snarked, well, maybe Reid will let us read the plan sometime soon so we will all understand what’s in it, since so far, he hasn’t let anyone know the details of the plan.

mbs on October 29, 2009 at 9:39 AM

The way these Democrats are sneaking things through to Obama, look for the Health Care bill will be tacked onto the Defense Appropriations bill for Obambi to sign.

Cybergeezer on October 29, 2009 at 10:02 AM

If the Dems attach this bill to ANYTHING, the Reublicans MUST fillibuster… NO MATTER WHAT…

Khun Joe on October 29, 2009 at 10:18 AM

This is a beautiful lose/lose situation for the dems and Obama. No matter which way it goes they lose and lose big. Naturally I prefer they lose early – my nerves and all – but either way the voters are going to get their say on HarryCare.

***
A number of years ago in Church an old soldier became disoriented and started staggering around due to some new “meds” the V.A. prescribed him.
***
Before I could get to him to steady him and sit him down a young lady was at his side helping him out. I thought at the time that she was really a great looking girl. Later I saw her with others of her age. She looked about the same as they did. Then I realized that my image of her was formed because of her friendly, outgoing personality and decency.
***
Ditto for Michelle Malkin–it isn’t the hair style that makes her stand out–it is her personality, good judgement, and honesty. Beauty is skin deep–quality is through and through the person.
***
Good job on Fox, Michelle. Keep leading the charges.
