Quotes of the day

posted at 10:57 pm on October 28, 2009 by Allahpundit

“’I have chosen not to endorse the Republican in the 23,’ Romney, R-Mass., said while campaigning for GOP gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell.”

***
“‘Certainly his views represent more closely to mine,’ said Huckabee. ‘I’m not taking a role in that with my PAC, simply because I feel like it would be inappropriate with me at this point — mainly because I’m already speaking to the Conservative Party next week. But it is not an endorsement speech, it is an awards speech, and I don’t want to get the two confused.’”

***
“[A]s the Tea Party movement has made clear, a passionate grassroots movement now exists, ready to embrace a leader.

“If the Alaska governor locks down that niche voting bloc ahead of the presidential primary season, she could face a smoother course to the nomination. On the flip side, if she’s seen as too closely aligned with the Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck crowd, her viability as a national candidate could virtually become nonexistent.

“By any measure, it’s a high-risk, high-reward strategy.”

It would have been arrogant and self-centered of Palin to remain governor in the face of all three. She would have been like Obama in believing she is more important than the fiscal and other damage that is being done to the state and her family.

Norman Blizter on October 29, 2009 at 12:20 AM

….when the cost of attacks against you accrue and will have an impact on the state’s ability to function, will have a negative budgetary impact because money spent on your defense can be better spent on something else, when your family is being deliberately bankrupted as a political strategy. It would have been arrogant and self-centered of Palin to remain governor in the face of all three. She would have been like Obama in believing she is more important than the fiscal and other damage that is being done to the state and her family.

Norman Blizter on October 28, 2009 at 11:31 PM

Uhh, no, he wasn’t.

And Obama spent exactly 143 days as a US Senator before he ABANDONED the job (while stealing his paycheck from the taxpayers)

Obama never run a city, never run a state, never run a lemonade stand!!

You know what that means?

Piper Palin, Sarah’s youngest daughter has more business experience that Obama does, because she HAS run a lemonade stand. And by God, Sarah has the ethics complaint from Chip Thoma to prove it!!!!!

Palin:

Multiple Business Owner 20 plus years

PTA member

City Council Member

Mayor Two Terms, term limited out.

President, Alaska council Of Mayors

Chairman, Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.*

*One of the most powerful jobs in the state. “Quit” in protest over massive corruption that she uncovered, and was prevented by the Republican Governor from cleaning up.

Chairman of Political Action Committee dedicated to preparing conservative women for elected office.

*While serving on PAC, spent time going after corrupt Republicans in the AOGCC. The Alaska GOP party chair, Randy Ruedrich received the largest fine in state history, others still wear orange jumpsuits.

Governor

Commander-In-Chief:
Alaska National Guard, Alaska Defense Force

Chairman, Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission

Chairman, National Governors Association’s Natural Resources Committee.

Now, tell me again who has the most experience of any of the so-called “front runners, including Barry Soetoro?

Sarah Palin’s path, Sarah Palin’s life is quintessential Americana. Every job she has ever had has prepared her to be President. And her record of great achievement at her jobs proves she will make a damned good one!!!

My take on that is ACORN employees at least have to show up for work. Zero doesn’t seem to have mastered that tricky concept. He’s too busy bouncing about making silly fake jet noises while riding about in Scare Force One. Nothing else besides permanent vacation is so tempting to him. Hence ACORN is above Obama’s pay grade.

We had one healthy girl die (she was 14), then a healthy girl in our ISD got incredibly sick (hospital, almost died), my daughter’s best friend was out of school for two weeks and should have been in the hospital, my neighbor’s boy was sick for over a week and he passed it on my other neighbor’s boy, who was out for over a week. Then I got sick (very mild), my dad got sick (very mild) but thankfully my kids are ok. They said the yearly vaccine would not help but I think it is.

Sorry to hear that about your family. My daughter is an ER trauma nurse and she said drink LOTS OF WATER to combat this flu. They refuse to get the vaccine and some of the AZ. firefighters get two mandatory doses.

The point I was making is Obama’s “crisis cannot go to waste” so he invented this “crisis” to push the healthcare takeover.

dthorny on October 29, 2009 at 1:11 AM

Actually, no, I think you and I are exactly the same
I don’t hate Sarah Palin (I admire her so very very much) and I am a firm believer in the 11th commandment. So if you are a disillusioned republican, may I offer some advice? Save your hate for the other side (if you must hate).

Annietxgrl on October 29, 2009 at 1:05 AM

I will ignore your snarky comment earlier, then, which would make the advice-giving a one way street. Here’s my advice to you: Stop bying the Kool-aid line around here, that just because you believe strongly she’s a loser of a candidate — and I do — that you must hate her. That’s lame leftist tactics. You seem more reasonable than that.

Bill Clinton may know. He apparently celebrated it protesting in Moscow when he was a “student” at Oxford of the same legitimacy of Zero at Harvard.

Well what is it, there, Kreskin? Were you being sincere, or were you being ironic? Were you being sincerely ironic? Do you even know?

Well goodnight all, and as Glenn Beck says: goodnight Mrs. Dunn!

That actually sounds plausible to me, which says something about this administration.

Cult of persuasion. C’mon I am being sincere here. I want to know what you think conservatism is and how Sarah Palin’s philosophy is incompatible with that. In addition, why is conservatism unelectable?
