Quotes of the day

“’I have chosen not to endorse the Republican in the 23,’ Romney, R-Mass., said while campaigning for GOP gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell.”
***
“‘Certainly his views represent more closely to mine,’ said Huckabee. ‘I’m not taking a role in that with my PAC, simply because I feel like it would be inappropriate with me at this point — mainly because I’m already speaking to the Conservative Party next week. But it is not an endorsement speech, it is an awards speech, and I don’t want to get the two confused.’”
***
“[A]s the Tea Party movement has made clear, a passionate grassroots movement now exists, ready to embrace a leader.
“If the Alaska governor locks down that niche voting bloc ahead of the presidential primary season, she could face a smoother course to the nomination. On the flip side, if she’s seen as too closely aligned with the Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck crowd, her viability as a national candidate could virtually become nonexistent.
“By any measure, it’s a high-risk, high-reward strategy.”

Every one of Sarah Palin’s skeletons are ALREADY known — much of America believes outright lies about her (rape kits! harry potter burning! africa country! shopping spree!) — the media trashed her family — she resigned from governor to avoid the $1000 a day legal challenge (by a current Obama staffer no less!) — she bombed a cbs interview (written by almost-obama vp sam nunn) — she is a cartoon caricature on SNL — most americans think she isn’t qualified to be president……
..and she’s only down 12 points in a hypothetical matchup with the first messiah black nobel winning president.
She TERRIFIES Obama.
She made his approval drop by 10 pts and his pet health bill approval drop by 15 points in 1 week with 2 words from a FACEBOOK page.
She’s like Ashley Judd in Double Jeopardy: you threw all that at her, but she’s still kicking!
There’s nothing else to attack her on.
Everyone that COULD hate Sarah Palin ALREADY DOES hate Sarah Palin. She can ONLY go up.
Sarah Palin will be the next president, if she chooses.

Sarah Palin has principles. Romney and Huckabee can’t understand that.

(BTW, GREAT quotes – i was typing for another palin thread, but put my above comment here.)
I think that shows the difference right:
MITT - waits until everyone else has done it, and does the formal, no-hard-feelings approach (“i will not endorse the R”)
HUCK – squishes his way of ‘one the one hand, on the other hand’, allowing you to draw your own conclusion on his deep-down-inside thought
SARAH - taking the risk, steps in the deep end, lives with the results

ONE MORE POINT ON PALIN—
the modified ‘ohio plan’ for the 2012 primary schedule is VEEERRRYYYY advantageous to sarah.
after the early 4: iowa, nh, sc, and nevada, there are like 10 states in a cluster. 8? of them are western states, including alaska
you could see a snowball of ‘palin the frontrunner’ before february 1st.
im telling you, she’s ashley judd in the movie double jeopardy: she’s STILL HERE, after ALL THAT, and they cant throw a THING at her!
all she needs is a killer comeback to “you quit”
maybe “i quit because YOUR staffer, mr president, kept suing me — and you saw that as a reason to hire them!”
or, “maybe so, mr obama, but you quit on the american economy 4 years ago”
something liek that
oh, and nominate marco rubio/michael williams as VP.
400electoral votes baby!@
battleoflepanto1571 on October 28, 2009 at 11:06 PM
You got your ass where your brain should be. Sarah Palin can seek to be president but America chooses who the next president will be, just ask Hillary Clinton.
How about Sarah Palin, the quitter? You didn’t add that to your description of her.
Norman Blizter on October 28, 2009 at 11:06 PM
Without looking at who the Palin quote came from, I’m just gonna make a guess: Someone who is high out of their mind, or completely crazy.
She will never in a billion years become VP or President. She has literally no chance on earth.
Of course she takes more risks on some things, SHE’S NEVER done anything to merit the attention she’s getting. She couldn’t handle ONE single term as governor of Alaska, and she’s what now? A facebook intellectual? Give me a break! The insanity that takes over with Palin lovers is just a vision of the doom to come with the GOP and conservative candidates in general…If people don’t drop Palin and do it quickly, Obama is going to have smooth sailing come 2012.
TheBlueSite on October 28, 2009 at 11:07 PM
Absolutely right. Honesty is also a highly desirable trait for which you never have to make excuses. Whatever the consequences Palin will be honest and fortright and if that isn’t enough to sway the voters, she and here erstwhile supporters should not lament.
docdave on October 28, 2009 at 11:07 PM
By the way, I have to ask the people who are saying Palin will become president if she wants it…You guys don’t truly believe any of that nonsense, do you?
If you do, please explain ANYTHING she has done to make her qualified to lead the free world. One half term as governor of Alaska before she tucked tail and fled doesn’t count.

The nomination is Palin’s if she wants it. Since she hasn’t said what her future plans are, I think it is interesting the amount of time the Liberal media devotes to attacking her every front.
Rule 1: Be wary of any politician the Media adores.
Rule 2: You know who the Media is afraid of by who they attack the most.
Reagan was considered the lightweight moron by the media.
portlandon on October 28, 2009 at 11:11 PM
On the flip side, if she’s seen as too closely aligned with the Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck crowd, her viability as a national candidate could virtually become nonexistent.
Why would a strong, personable, transforming political figure like Sarah Palin want to align herself with a Rush Limbaugh who is “milking the cash cow?” She doesn’t need him, and it will become highly apparent when she goes on Oprah on 11/16.
Now Glenn Beck, OTOH….

LibTired on October 28, 2009 at 11:12 PM
Please Sarah, do that so at least you can get some real experience.
Norman Blizter on October 28, 2009 at 11:13 PM
K, I’ll bite.
She’s been a governor (and before that, oil & gas commissioner; and before that, mayor). She’s one of a VERY SMALL POOL of people in america that have had EXECUTIVE GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE at a high up level. Go ahead an poo-poo her term in alaska (while remembering obama served something like 100 days in the senate before declaring his presidential candidacy), but even without OGcommission or mayor, she’s in an elite group. So is Huckabee, Linda Lingle, Howard Dean, Pataki, even Blago. All of them have done more or less the closest job to the president on the closet possible scale. Senator is way different.
As for her governorship, she got things done ($60b canada pipeline/trade stuff) and had high approval (’sarahdise’). yeah, she quit. she was spending $1000 a day on lawyer fees to stop the ethics complaints from a now-Obama administration official (add it to the WHAT IF BUSH DID IT x a million). oh, and her legislature wouldnt pass anything…..because she stopped hand delivering them BAGELS.
yeah, im serious.
so why do i like her more than say, hawaii’s linda lingle? because she took on BOTH parties to get there. she beat a corrupt gop establishment, AND a corrupt dem challenger. watch this debate from 06: is this woman an idiot???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnFkyWz13BQ
so basically, she’s in an elite “executive governance” group. and its even smaller if we limit it to the gop. so its down to the likes of huck (ripped arkansas gop as “shiite republicans”, nanny stater banned soda), mitt (had multiple moral conversions in his 50s AFTER electeed governor of a liberal state), jindal, palin, perry, huntsman, lingle, crist, jeb bush, arnold, daniels, etc…
from that list, she’s the most exciting one, because she (and jindal, perry to name a few) are ACTUAL CONSERVATIVES
i find it amazing the hatred palin attracts. people have this image of her as a thumb sucking idiot.
and they don’t remember she ran a freaking STATE people.
oh, and gave the best convention speech in 30 years with 4 days of prep — and a teleprompter outage.
so she screwed up the katie couric interview, right? well im SURE you fact-checked to realize that OBAMAS ALMOST VP, SAM NUNN, WROTE the katie ecouric interview FOR katie, and emailed her/called her with the questions. yeah, that stupid palin for failing obama’s test.
the real question is, how come this ‘idiot’ was able to drop obamas approval by 10 points, and increase the DISapproval of obamacare by 15 points, in ONE WEEK after TWO WORDS from her facebook page????
Your move.

See? This is what I always get. You have to tow the Palin-bot line or your points are ignored. The “drivel” is old? I’m still awaiting a single person to tell me how Palin is more qualified than Obama. No one can answer the question. Don’t listen to the drivel, and say hello to 4 more years of hope and change.
It’s all about decisions. I’d rather not link myself to a half term governor of Alaska who we all know McCain picked for her looks and the fact that she’s a female (to try to attract Hilary voters), but instead a viable candidate that moderates don’t despise and could actually win against ANYONE. Not to mention, I prefer my candidates who have some clue about the major topics. Palin was so unprepared for any real questions during the campaign, it was embarrassing.

A lot of HA commenters have talked in the past and present about how crucial it is to “not let the media pick our candidate.” What if the media wants Sarah Palin to be the GOP nominee in ’12? And what could the reason possibly be for that?
The answers may surprise a lot of today’s conservatives, and they may not be able to handle the end result, as it would change a lot of the way politics is done.

3. if she’s so dumb, how come canada agreed to do to $60 billion natural gas pipeline with HER and never before? how come she succeeded?
4. why did cnbc interview her (in the famous “i wont be vp” clip from early 2008) about energy if she is so stupid
5. why doesn’t it bother you that palins’ couric interview was WRITTEN BY obamas almost vp sam nunn? he emailed the questions to katie and called her and discussed the ‘trap’ answers like ‘what do you read’ (if she says/doesnt say NYT shes screwed either way)

How about Sarah love America and BHO loves himself?
