People keep saying “but … But … Perot!!!” as a warning against. I say look at the actual numbers. Interpolate them into the total disgust by nearly everyone outside the Beltway with the current crop of Republicans, compared to the moderate irritation with them in the 90’s, and the disintegration of the Democrats that is coming.

Modern “third-party” movements have been about electing one guy as President. If you look at broad-based movements aimed at replicating a policy agenda in every state and federally, the GOP is just the best example of a number of enduring movements. When you combine the broad appeal and the possibility of cheap, rapid dissemination through “viral media”, then its got real legs.

2006 and 2008 proved that being democrat lite (& in some instances democrat heavy) does not make for electoral victory. But the wizards of smart leading (?) the GOP just can’t accept the results of those tow experiments.

Those who are naysaying a third party fail to see that we are not in the same situation as before. Rush says we have to take the party back, and if we can do that, I’m for it, but if not, it is indeed time for a third party. The leaders of the party have sold out to career politics and are not only of no use to the party but actually a danger to it.

Palin is popular because she is so strong in what she believes. There is no ambiguity with her, and as someone pointed out before, that’s what wins. The entrenched politicians in the party need to go and take their power hungry butts to the democrat party.

If the Republican’s want to hop on the conservative train, they are welcome. But it has left the station, and they have to run to get on the train…it ain’t stopping, it ain’t backing up.
It’s got a destination, and that is to save a nation…get on board….ALL ABOARD!!
We are bound to victory, and all are welcome to take a ride to history.
Stoke the fires of conservatism, and fire up the engines. It starts slow, but gains speed, and if the Republican’s wait, they will be left at the station.
Conductor Rush is there to punch your tickets, Pawlenty is helping the passengers, and Palin is serving you votes…Newt get off the tracks, you can’t derail this train.
The Tea Party have had their tickets for months, and they have left plenty of seats for us…

The Gallup poll showing 40% conservative and 36% moderate ID really points out the fatal flaw in pandering to moderates.
In theory you need to persuade about 1/3rd of moderates of the correctness of a given conservative issue/ candidate.
That is an easier task than pandering on issues to get more moderates and stupidly assuming the 40% conservative will just “take it”. They won’t and don’t.
The GOP is reaping the harvest of selling out core principles of conservatism chasing dithering moderates from election to election.
The men and women standing behind Hoffman impress and by example persuade undecideds that he is the “strong horse”.
You win over moderates by the force of a good case, not a shameful game of bribery.

Well stated and exactly on point. I’ve been donating directly to PAC’s and conservative candidates while sending nasty e-mails to the GOP in their return envelopes asking for donations. At least we have a say as to where our money is going.

The Republican party sees party loyalty as a one way street. The Republican party wants the voters to support a republican candidate in all cases. Once in office the party only supports the position of the in crowd politicians. As for those registered republicans the party says “see you next year when we need your vote again”. The Republican party does not listen to the republican base. Now the voting base is getting wiser and is choosing a candidate because of the views expressed by the candidate.

I wrote my Congressman … Republican Steve Scalise and told him he was welcome to join us in the Conservative movement. He’s a good conservative – but he needs to know that we no longer support his party.

From here on out – the war plan is simple … no more support or money for the GOP. We donate to independent CONSERVATIVE candidates and to the Pacs that support them only. GOP elitist Ayatollahs, the RNC, the NRCC, the NRSC – CUT OFF – from food and water.

To borrow a line from a RINO …

“First we’re gonna cut it off … then we’re gonna kill it”

Ayatollahs – thank you for your service – you’re relieved of duty now. Please see your way out the door and enjoy retirement!
