Pathetic: Jarrett backtracks from Fox News bias claim when asked about MSNBC

posted at 6:26 pm on October 27, 2009 by Allahpundit

Credit CNN here. Not only did Campbell Brown follow up with a question about MSNBC after this sorry hack went into Fox-bashing mode but CNN.com actually posted a write-up noting her lame retreat when confronted. Say, did you know that the White House is “calling everybody out,” not just Fox News? Keep watching those Sunday morning chat shows; I’m sure Axelrod and Emanuel will be on again soon to lay out their arguments against CNN and MSNBC.

The money line? “We’re going to speak truth to power.” The ultimate expression of self-righteous victimhood, offered here by … a senior advisor to the most powerful man on earth.

She really likes to say “distortions” a lot. I guess the Obama administration is the only place that the public can get the crystal clear version of health care reform.

The “truth to power” comment had me ROTFL. I hate to break it to you Valerie, but you ARE the power now.

CNN Drops to Last Place Among Cable News Networks…

CNN, which invented the cable news network more than two decades ago, will hit a new competitive low with its prime-time programs in October, finishing fourth – and last – among the cable news networks with the audience that all the networks rely on for their advertising.

Pull the Plug.

It would have been better if Brown had asked Jarrett for an example of the lies and distortions she attributes to Fox. Is showing a town hall meeting or a tea party a distortion?

Totally embarrassed that she is a fellow alumnus/alumna/alumnices – whatever.

These people just ain’t really that bright or honest, are they?

Like Pelosi and the name game for “public option”. No wonder her book failed.

Jarrett, Hussein and Michelle are all products of a closed system of patronage and deal fixing. Never done any real work in their lives, very insular and narrow, whatever “education” they claim to have.

Reminds me of going to a pretty good B-school and meeting people I wouldn’t hire to clean toilets…they would never get it right. They could kid the profs along and burble up what was in the books, but dumber than dirt and proud of it, functionally. I was older than most so my perspective was different. Children in adult bodies.

Campbell could have taken Val’s head off. That she didn’t proves how much she values her “in” as a lapdog media person. A small step, dear, but not enough yet to earn points.

She got one thing right: “There’s so much at stake right now.”

Frankly, I would not have expected her to be so candid about that. Of course, she’s hoping for the opposite result from the one I want, but at least she’s honest about the magnitude of the battle.

Jarrett is not just a power, she is the power in the White House, because she’s Michelle’s mentor, connection, and power broker. Obaminable does what Michelle says more quickly than he obeys Soros. Jarrett is like most Chi-town community organizer, demoncrat power brokers, and like most nasty insects–she operates in the shadows where she can’t be seen and she can do her dirty work with relative impunity. Now the spotlight’s found her and it ain’t gonna be pretty.

Okay. CNN gets credit for not going into Charlie Gibson mode after this hack launched a nine-minute tirade against FNC and the filthy lying coward in the White House has spent the last two weeks deliberately attacking one network to include attempting to shut them out of pool interviews. Good on ya CNN for finally noticing that something is going on.

Does she know that she is the power? How odd to use the truth to power cliche in that way. Almost Freudian.

Is she really saying Fox is speaking truth to power? In a twisted way I think she is.

Of course it is twisted like her politics.

This is the woman who is a real threat to democracy.

jintrabar on October 27, 2009 at 7:39 PM

I am sure someone has probably said this already but I bet some jaws dropped around the news rooms finding out they are all being called out. I am pretty sure that is not the talk Maddow, Olberman, and the rest were given at the Whitehouse two weeks ago. What I really like is that she dropped the curtain for them and basically let them know that eventually they will be coming for all!

bluemarlin on October 27, 2009 at 7:40 PM

Keywords like “distortion” are mentioned multiple times throughout, yet not one concrete issue is ever actually offered as evidence. Give us a specific “lie” that you dispute. The obamabots simply can’t do it because they’d lose on every one! It’s absolutely Orwellian the way these people are acting.

Translation:

“We need to push this crapsack through and can’t afford any criticism or scrutiny of our policies.”

I’m somewhat heartened that there are other news sources willing to step up to the plate here, at least a little bit.

Even if you’re a journalist that votes Democrat 100% of the time, if you allow the White House to shout down Fox as being somehow “biased,” and marginalize them in the way that they’re attempting… you’re starting on a very, very dangerous road for your profession.

Having a press that is only permitted to exist if they agree with the administration is as bad as having no press at all.

These clowns continue to say that critics of ObamaoCare in all of its permutations lie and distort. Yet they never offer evidence of the charge, while the critics can cite chapter and verse of the objectionable parts.

Every citizen, every taxpayer should rise up and put a stop to this unConstitutional, fascistic seizure of an economic sector that will bankrupt the nation and lead to poorer health care and rationing.

It’s ironic that part of the comfort and arrogance of the Obamas, Jarretts, Axelrods, Emanuels, et al, resides in a (subliminal level only) belief that America is fair and just- and that their machinations will not result in a Mussolini style ending for them.

If they succeed in their plans for causing grave harm to this country, their final ménage might not be as pleasant as they would imagine.

justltl on October 27, 2009 at 9:50 PM

While a French style reign of terror might be viscerally satisfying to eventually unleash on these vermin, I hope that it doesn’t come to that.

Rather, I would prefer to see them ultimately brought to justice via the American justice system.

If my estimation of the Obama administration’s ultimate ends comes to fruition, however, the American justice system may cease to exist- in which case I hope that America is reborn in Texas or elsewhere.

Were that apocalyptic vision to happen, I admit that I would enjoy watching from a distance the reign of terror eventually unleashed on the Obamas and company by their current supporters who would suffer under their rule.
