Prior to his election to President, Reagan presented a series of short (1-2 min) radio spots that were widely distributed, extremely well-written, concise and to the point, highlighting key conservative principles. (I believe these were a part of Reagan:In His Own Hand.) They educated and built a foundation that led to his overwhelming victories in 1980 and 1984. The Contract With America served a similar function in 1984. The GOP knows how to win elections (off-year as well as presidential years) if they focus on conservative education and running candidates who are committed to those principles. They need to highlight and repeat the basic conservative truths/principles that will turn this country around. The GOP must take the lead from Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Coulter, Beck, and countless others (NOT Gingrich unfortunately, he missed his chance with NY-23 and Hoffman.)

We all know what this bureacratic brown-noser meant by “most powerful”. It does raise an interesting question though. Who is/was the best writer among rulers/leaders past or present? Churchill, Marcus Aurelius, Disraeli come instantly to mind. Any other candidates? (Putatively, they must have done their own writing.)
