Obamateurism of the Day
posted at 8:05 am on October 26, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
When we used to write essays for school, we’d often try to fool our English professors by leaving wide margins. It didn’t work in college for most of us, but perhaps Barack Obama just got used to wide margins. When talking to an MIT audience about global warming, the President said that skeptics had been pushed further and further into the margins:
US President Barack Obama on Friday hit out at naysayers he blamed for peddling “cynical” claims that global warming is a myth to derail a landmark climate change bill in Congress.
Obama warned that the closer the Senate came to passing legislation which has already cleared the House of Representatives, the more opponents would resort to underhand tactics.
“The naysayers, the folks who would pretend that this is not an issue, they are being marginalized,” Obama warned in a speech at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The same day, Pew Research released its findings on just how wide the margins are:
There has been a sharp decline over the past year in the percentage of Americans who say there is solid evidence that global temperatures are rising. And fewer also see global warming as a very serious problem – 35% say that today, down from 44% in April 2008.
The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 4 among 1,500 adults reached on cell phones and landlines, finds that 57% think there is solid evidence that the average temperature on earth has been getting warmer over the past few decades. In April 2008, 71% said there was solid evidence of rising global temperatures.
Over the same period, there has been a comparable decline in the proportion of Americans who say global temperatures are rising as a result of human activity, such as burning fossil fuels. Just 36% say that currently, down from 47% last year.
And those margins got wider for Republicans, Independents … and Democrats:

Those margins are closing in on each other, aren’t they?

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

The real problem is not global warming but the audacity to think that driving crappy cars and transferring wealth to the third world is the solution. It takes a big ego to think that mankind can effect the kind of change put forth by the junk science of Al Gore and his band of happy thugs.

If logic, reality and facts were actually applied to liberals and their agenda, over 90% of their platform would be out the window.
But just keep saying the same things over and over and over and enough of the sheep will get in line.
Because I am sure that Cap and Trade and the green jobs myth will be as successful as Obama’s other economic policies(Tarp was not passed when Obama was President but he voted for it and continues to take credit for it as his policy to help stop the economic meltdown):

More of the “Hope and Change” administrations idea of transparency and accountability.
Now we get to look forward to Obama paying off GE and his other friends who helped get him elected under the disguise of “green jobs” and “green energy” that is nothing but a huge tax on the American people, will gut industry even further and raise the unemployment rate even higher.

57% of people can “think” that there is solid evidence that the earth has been warming over the last few decades despite the fact that average temperatures have dropped over the last decade just like X % of people can think the moon is made of green cheese despite definitive contradictory proof. Neither make it so and both show the unfathomable ignorance of the American people in general and the MSM and educators who push this nonsense more specifically.

The RINO’s are as bad as the democrats when it comes to adopting ANY position for the sake of retaining or gaining power. Newt is no different. The RINO’s claim every anti-conservative issue they hold is simply for political expediency and that once they are in power, they will act like conservatives. We all know if republicans behaved as conservatives, this country would get on the right track. The problem is men desire power. It’s intoxicating and it clouds ones ability to keep service to Americas founding principles in perspective.

Oklahoma is having the coldest October on record through the 25th. Hasn’t been so cold since record keeping began (for those of you in Rio Linda). And from the forecasts, that is not supposed to change anytime soon.
Obama must think we are all blind followers to hear him say that we have to ignore the weather and marginalize those who don’t believe in this global-governance-inspired hoax. God is doing His part to reduce the global warmers to flat earthers (like they call the rest of us). It’s obvious now who the flat-earthers are!
If this keeps up, they will soon be saying that CO2 causes global cooling and beware the next ice age.

For a group that lives and rules by the political winds, these guys are not looking at that poll. This creates a consensus of elected representatives that want to control the populace by taxing everything that can prevent the weather from being, well, the weather. Lets see how far the Rooskies go with preventing snow in Moscow this winter by seeding the clouds or something.

But how will the Congressman explain away the cold weather? now that will be fun to watch.

Regardless of the credibility of the H1N1 situation (the virus and its vaccine), focus on the Obama factor.
This president is to blame for the so-called national emergency that he has declared, having failed to curb the liability factor for vaccine manufacturers who in turn refuse to produce the goods.
Mexico decides to fill in the vaccine production gap that Obama requires for the population. Great, really great reassurance of quality control, and good luck fighting a Mexican corp. for liability problems from the US when the problems arise.
“The vaccine’s immune factor is kicking in faster than expected.”–CBS News this morning. Translation: Suckers. If your body was able to combat the H1N1 virus already, the immune factor is “working”. Otherwise, if you’re one of those unfortunates whose immune system is attacked with severe health consequences, shut up. So far as this administration is concerned, it’s your own fault for not innately having what it took to deal with the vaccine. You don’t fit into the brave new eugenics world of Obama. If you’re a problem, you’re just the hidden statistic for the grand experiment.
H1N1 is this administration’s convenient teaching moment given to convince Americans to accept ObamaCare, to accept the ruin of our medical system, to accept Obama’s perpetual state of emergency. Ultimately, that enables the government to dictate your body’s chemistry which in turn permeates your brain, determined mind control.

I was bow hunting in Wisconsin’s north woods this weekend.
On talking to many fellow hunters, they said they’d like to invite the President to the up north woods for the up coming deer gun season.Said something about a rack hat, whatever that meant. We were discussing that as well as global warming as we stood in the October snow. You can’t believe how much President Obama’s name comes up.

Interesting that BO chose to deliver this at MIT, the Academic Home of Prof. Richard Lindzen. Prof. Lindzen is the Sloan Professor of meteorology at MIT and one of the “naysayers” BO referred to.
Another case of BO listening to all sides while telling the other side to shut up.

Underhand tactics? Hummmmm, is that like removing a News Network from interviews cause the Prez is having a hissy fit?
