It is interesting that one of our moderates notice that the Democrats usually keep theirs in check.
Oh, what was Obama saying the other day about how Republicans do what they are told?
One wonders how long a right wing congressional foil to Obama, like McCain was to Bush, would last in the Democrat party.
Heck, Lieberman just didn’t flip flop to become a dove and they kicked him out.

MeatHeadinCA on October 25, 2009 at 9:09 PM
I don’t understand why the Dems didn’t just pass this along time ago instead of wringing their hands about peeling off one or two Rinos so that they could act like it was a bipartisan trainwreck. It’s not like they media won’t let them get away with somehow blaming the eventual debacle on Bush and the repubs even if they don’t come away with a solitary GOP vote.
Kataklysmic on October 25, 2009 at 9:09 PM
They kicked him out, chew him up. Spit him up. Then told him to caucus with them.

We need to start rounding up candidates who will vote for an “Omnibus Repeal of Foolishness Act” in 2010. This act would cover all of the bills enacted only by Democrats and/or which were passed without being read, and it would immediatly cancel all regulations and all contracts let as a result of the bills being repealed. It would also forbid any new expenditures on these bills, and return all outstanding funding to the Treasury.

Anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, in the Senate or House that is up for re-election in 2010 or 2012 is doomed. We will see to it. Beyond that we only have our sights set on throwing out Goober Graham, Max Baucus and the idiots from Maine.

The devils in the details, no-one wants government healthcare except deadbeats and these fools implement the taxes and cuts four years before the program kicks in.
Biggets deficit in history, dollar plunging, unemployment rising, states cutting jobs and budgets across the board and these bozos are gonna tax and spend before any programs take place?
I say its smoke and mirrors, huff and puff, I know there’s some like my Senator Harkin who believe it, but others know its their jobs, the blue dogs are gone. Congressmen and Senators in Bush won districts are gone.

High Noon actually had a pretty happy ending. Went through a lot to get there, but it was happy.
I think it’s becoming all but inevitable. Main question is will it be bloody or not. I really don’t think it has to be bloody. The trick will be to use the Left’s own arrogance against it to convince them they’ll be better off without us.

“I think the Democrats have the votes, and in the House, Blue Dogs bark but never bite,” Mr. McCain said on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” using the nickname for conservative Democrats . “So I don’t think they have a problem over in the House side. In the Senate I think the Democrats are very aware that they don’t want a repeat of the Clinton failure in 1994. So I think it’s very likely they will get something through. But it’s not clear to me what it is.”

dhunter on October 25, 2009 at 10:22 PM
States that opt out will be punished by having federal money withheld.
The crime of it is that the fed uses the tax dollars of a state’s citizens to bribe the state. If the world weren’t upside down your state taxes would be higher than your federal taxes.
This is going to take more than a BS smokescreen of ‘opting out’. Only fools will believe that is a viable option. And in any case, it won’t prevent the citizens of opt out states from paying the taxes and fees so all they opt out of is the public option.
It’s all BS and the only answer may ultimately be secession. Provided we can elect some governors and state legislators with real stones.
Let the Lefties establish a Marxist prison state since they want to reject liberty. They’ll have to build a wall to keep their citizens in like East Germany. Any that managed to escape would be forbidden from voting until they’re cleared of the infection of Liberalism.

And are you seriously suggesting he step aside or something? I don’t understand that. If the voters of Arizona want to elect someone else, they could.
For the rest of ya McCain-deranged fellow conservatives…I’ll never understand ya’s.
JetBoy on October 25, 2009 at 10:29 PM
They’re halfway there, already. They do love to brag about how they don’t want us around. But, they won’t want to let the tax receipts go and they’re going to be scared of the country that would be built, though they might be able to be convinced that they’d be able to draft off of it, as Canada has benefitted so much from being our northern neighbor.
The debt and monetary situations would be the most combustible issues, which is why I think that it will more likely be the coming monetary disaster that’s going to do it.
progressoverpeace on October 25, 2009 at 10:29 PM

How many states have an underage drinking law of 21 years now? Weren’t states withheld funding then until they complied too?
disillusioned on October 25, 2009 at 10:34 PM
See here is the thing – the Lefties are indeed intent on building a prison state, but they won’t have to do much to keep people in it. Originally they were going to build one state that covered the whole world, but that idea seems to be fading.
The new idea on the Left is to create a series of smaller police states that are exactly the same in all important characteristics. So Eurasia might call itself socialist, Oceania might call itself capitalist, and Eastasia communist, but they will all be corporate states in nature.
