Hmmmm.

"Cavuto asked Mike why he didn’t endorse him. Mike Huckabee said he couldn’t because it was a conflict of interest. He was asked months ago to speak at the Conservative Awards Program on Monday, Oct 26. Because Hoffman is running on the Conservative ticket, if Mike endorsed him and then got paid for his speaking engagement, it would look like Hoffman paid him to endorse him."

Complete and utter bullshit from Huckabee. I don't believe this "explanation" for one moment.

Let's face it Huckabee has been trying to reform his image since the election and get in good with the Establishment Republicans. This idea that an endorsement from him would be a "conflict of interest" is completely idiotic.

Now if Sarah could get Daggett to drop out and throw his support to Christie..

I don't think so...she's got a reputation to uphold. I wouldn't even put a Christie sign in front of my house, and for very good reasons.

Remember I told all of you that Huckabee supporters were really happy that Sarah Palin won the VP nomination...well,over at Huck's Army they have a post and everybody is excited that Sarah endorsed Hoffman just like all of you are.

For those on here that wonder why Huckabee didn't endorse Hoffman..today on Neil Cavuto's show on Fox News, Mike Huckabee was the guest. Neil asked him how he felt about Hoffman, and he said he likes him a lot. He said Hoffman was a real Conservative and was pro-life, pro-guns and a good nominee to win. Cavuto asked Mike why he didn't endorse him. Mike Huckabee said he couldn't because it was a conflict of interest. He was asked months ago to speak at the Conservative Awards Program on Monday, Oct 26. Because Hoffman is running on the Conservative ticket, if Mike endorsed him and then got paid for his speaking engagement, it would look like Hoffman paid him to endorse him.

Mike very much supports Hoffman, but couldn't endorse him because of this previous engagement. He agrees that it is much better to support somebody who believes in what he does rather than just because they have a "R" behind their name. That's the way he chooses who his Huc Pac will support...by what the candidate is really like. He made that decision a long time ago.

For better or worse, some of her clout’s on the line here too, especially now that The One’s thrown in for the Democrat. Good luck, Palinistas.

She already won this round. Her endorsement skyrocketed the amount of money raised today.

credit also to some other conservatives who exposed the republican candidate as nothing more as a turncoat Spector-like candidate who is republican only in name

The best thing for the GOP to do now is to actually endorse Doug since it will send the message that GOP endorses conservatives. Not someone who just happened to manage to be on their candidate list and got through the vetting process

And I cannot wait for Beck to endorse Doug as well..

I hope that if she feels strongly that he is a good candidate that means he is a good candidate. Conservatives have got to go out and support each other if they are in the same frame of mind. If Palin AND Beck support him that means I would be all over him. They aren't going to back someone of that doesn't hold their values.
Thanks Sarah and thanks to the poster that pointed out Beck was supporting him too.
You see BHO isn't the only person that can put his support behind someone and get noticed.

I agree that a third party is political suicide. What needs to happen is for conservatives retake control of the Republican party from the RINO’s and the inside-the-beltway republican elite.

Darksean on October 23, 2009 at 12:39 PM

And the way to do that is with competition. If the base starts supporting real conservative, independent(if necessary) candidates, the GOP will be forced to move right or become increasingly irrelevant.

I get the feeling the GOP elites are simply waiting for some easy, unearned wins in '10 off of Obama backlash. Then nothing will really change within the party. It'll be the same ol' establishment.

My apologies for the pasting here of someone elses' quote but it was sooooo goood.

Palin is Aragorn.........we are the soldiers.

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of Liberty comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! For All you hold Dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!”

Mary Katherine Ham

No third party has ever become a "second" party by elbowing out one of the estalished parties. Whigs and Republicans and Democrats became what they were with the disintegration of the opposition party and the absorbtion of the constitutent parts. There has been no precedent for a third party eclipsing one of the main 2.

Excellent move by Palin also to neutralize Newt (who endorsed Dede) and Pawlenty (who claimed he wasn’t following the race) and of course Romney and Huckabee who did not want to get their hands dirty.

Of course if Hoffman does pull it out, Sarah’s street cred goes out of sight.

But you're technically a THIRD PARTY now with respect to GOP (read elite Republicans).

But you forget something: FUSION THEORY OF THE COMMUNISTS WHO SUCCESSFULLY TOOK OVER THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN THE LAST 15 YEARS.

Palin really belongs to the NY Conservative Party ... a third party. Our goal? TAKE OVER THE GOP through Fusion Theory using the strategy of BIG TENT with libertarians and fiscally conservative democrats (aka Reagan Democrats) ... just like what Reagan did in the 80s.

THIRD PARTY! THIRD PARTY! THIRD PARTY! Yes, we can.

Remember: We cannot bring real and long-lasting change if we are TOO AFRAID in turning the Political World UPSIDE DOWN. PALIN IS EXACTLY DOING THAT.

MONEY AND VOTE FOR HOFFMAN!!!!

LET US PRESERVE NY-23 BE AS THE LAST CONSERVATIVE FRONTIER IN THE DYING LIBERAL STATE OF NEW YORK.

Hopefully Palin sees that Rubio is not the man to foreward her anti-corruption image.

Doug is feeling like King Theoden at Helm’s Deep when Gandalf and Eomer arrive just in time with the entire East Emnet.

Yes, with the sun at their backs!

This whole situation reminds me of another movie - Braveheart. When William Wallace is trying to explain leadership to Robert the Bruce and how desperate the people are for a principled and strong leader. But Bruce Sr.(Gingrich, Frum......AP) dismissed all that for a contorted, subservient, political approach. This is why Palin inspires so many, so strongly. She has rock-solid conservative ideals, sticks to her guns, and clearly believes the movement is bigger than herself, illustrated by her resignation.

Anyway, the dialog between Bruce Jr and Sr is extremely relevant for the times now.
