Quotes of the day
posted at 10:30 pm on October 21, 2009 by Allahpundit
“Recently, President Obama’s advisors have decided that it’s easier to blame the Bush Administration than support our troops. This weekend they leveled a charge that cannot go unanswered. The President’s chief of staff claimed that the Bush Administration hadn’t asked any tough questions about Afghanistan, and he complained that the Obama Administration had to start from scratch to put together a strategy.
“In the fall of 2008, fully aware of the need to meet new challenges being posed by the Taliban, we dug into every aspect of Afghanistan policy, assembling a team that repeatedly went into the country, reviewing options and recommendations, and briefing President-elect Obama’s team. They asked us not to announce our findings publicly, and we agreed, giving them the benefit of our work and the benefit of the doubt. The new strategy they embraced in March, with a focus on counterinsurgency and an increase in the numbers of troops, bears a striking resemblance to the strategy we passed to them. They made a decision – a good one, I think – and sent a commander into the field to implement it.
“Now they seem to be pulling back and blaming others for their failure to implement the strategy they embraced. It’s time for President Obama to do what it takes to win a war he has repeatedly and rightly called a war of necessity.”

I give Dick Cheney credit, not only for being Dick Cheney, but for defending the Bush Administration in ways that Bush, (a former president with class) cannot, and for putting the truth out there. Bet Bambi never figured on that, but he doesn’t figure on much correctly.

Obama(nation) is an embarrassment to the CiC position. He has no balls and is in so far over his head, it’s not funny. He’s surrounded himself with Clinton’s cabinet, thinking THAT would give him the people on a platter. Guess what, douche…..AAAAAANNNNNNNKKKKK!!!! Wrong answer. You have to LEAD when your President of the best country in the universe. The team you have around you is making you look the fool and laughing all the way to the bank. They’re drunk with power and don’t care about this country or the people in it. You ARE who you surround yourself with. You built your campaign on lies and are continuing to lie every time you take the stage. Please, save yourself and your family more embarrassment and call it quits before this country becomes 3rd world.

Bush has said that he promised the Obama(nation)’s that he would not say anything to make them look bad, so he’s not saying anything. It’s great, however, that Cheney didn’t make that promise.
I’m intrigued to compare their books when they come out.

Could this be why their numbers have fallen so drastically? I mean if you make everyone your enemy, or even make enemies with people who have friends and will tell other friends… I mean, how many people have they thrown under the bus in that one statement, and you haven’t even mentioned policemen, Wall Street people, Americans…

I am so buying both their books. But I’m guessing Cheney’s will have more revelations. Can’t wait :-)

Does anyone remember less than a year ago, when we all went to sleep, we knew President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney were on the job, doing everything in their power to protect this country, as well as making sure the troops in the field had everything they needed to achieve victory………..?
Now, FOX News is more of a threat than the Taliban and our Troops are left to twist in the wind…

victor82 on October 21, 2009 at 10:47 PM
1. Obama has already decided, months ago, to not send in any more troops. RE: Jim Jones and the WTF moment; “don’t even think about asking for more troops”
2. You can not shame a leftist. They have no conscience, they have no shame.
3. Even if public opinion forces Obama to send troops, (see #1 and #2), the administration can still tie everything up in red tape, reports, studies, slow walking paperwork, restrictive ROE.
The bottom line is this group of democrats will abandon the troops, and the people of Afghanistan.
Skandia Recluse on October 21, 2009 at 10:47 PM
No doubt Cheney chooses each word that he uses carefully. If you get to read the transcript, note how he uses the word “waffle.”
DrStock on October 21, 2009 at 10:47 PM
The question the media NEEDS to be asking…
Is how Obama could have made sooo many speeches blasting Bush for his “failures” on the wars… without studying up and having a plan of his own…
And also why it took almost SIX months for him to start making this descision on Afganistan… should he not have been involved in this the whole time?? Especialy as one of the Presidents main jobs is to be Commander in Chief?

*Crrraaack!*
Now that’s leadership. If the POTUS won’t stand up for troops in the field, then someone has to–the former VPOTUS.
I maintain that the Bill Ayers book authorship issue is keeping Obama from making a decision on this. Ayers, the original antiwar protestor, is holding the White House by the short curlies essentially blackmailing him on increasing troop levels (something Ayers planted bombs about back in the Vietnam era). I could be wrong, but what else could explain the holdup–he’s obviously considering it, but what keeps him from doing so?
ted c on October 21, 2009 at 10:48 PM
O/T Fox News doesn’t keep Bambi up at night. Not much. This man can’t speak an honest word if his life depended on it.
Fox News and Dick Cheney.. . . .Bambi’s nightmares.
Willie on October 21, 2009 at 10:49 PM
This White House continues to want to pick a fight with the Bush Administration.
And every time Cheney hands them back their head. Among other parts.
Of course, the press coverage will be that “Cheney attacks Obama” instead of “Cheney Responds to White House Attacks.”
Amazing isn’t it? Carter attacked the Bush White House for eight years and the press uncritically reported his attacks. Cheney responds to White House attacks and he’s the antagonist in this matter.

Winer (adj): Loser liberal troll that tries to be witty and sarcastic, but cannot create a coherent message because they are so nervous about being on a conservative blog that they misspell half of the words.
Ex: We can tell by reading Grow Fins unoriginal comment that they are an obvious winer.

How can President Obama have any idea how to tackle
any theatre of war, when, his idea of combat,is in the
streets of America as a Community Organizer!
How can any American President really understand the
nature and threat of the enemy, and have any connection
to the US Military when they have never served in any
branch of service,or for that matter, even Cub Scouts,
Eagle Scouts,or in the case of Mom Jeans,Girl Guides!!
Without, any early experiernce of discipline, respect and
honour,or commanding your own squad and even marching
around the parade floor,as an example in front of your
CO,early in life, all those little experiences slowly over
time build up,and become helpful!!
George Bush SR was Torpedo Bomber in WW2,George Bush was
in the National Guard,Clinton was a world scholar,Obama is
a Community Organizer!!
And,Barack Obama is an Anti-War Protester to top it off!!!

Cheney is just pure class. He eviscerated The Precedent. He only held back in one respect, giving the imbecile the benefit of the doubt in his indecisiveness. But, the dithering IS the strategy. This is all quite intentional. He will continue to stall as long as he can, bleeding the US in the process and looking for Afghanistan to deteriorate.

No one should be surprised, these are inherent Obama tactics. He takes no responsibilty, he has no credibility, he seems unable to make a sensible ego or politics free decision. So far, apart from his endless rhetoric, he has shown no talent at all except for complaining, manipulation, subterfuge and passing the buck. He hasn’t even got enough character to acknowledge that some of his ideas are adapted from those of his predecessor. How on earth could it possibly demean him to simply tell the truth now and then. What kind of man are we dealing with? Scares hell out of me!!
