Hillary running in ’12? I doubt it. The people crapping on O from the Left right now definately HATE her.
She’s not who they want. They see her as a centrist.
Incredible, but true. Remember they don’t have brains.

My prediction: Obama gets impeached in ’11; Palin is asked “will you run for president in ’12?!” by Oprah and Palin is put on the spot. She’ll say she hasn’t decided yet. Her attackers will say she’s lying and waffling.

Her rabid fans will DEMAND she run in ’12. She’ll see the results in ’10 and add them to the chorus of “RUN!” and she’ll go for it.

She might face Biden again in ’12. How bout THAT? huh?
At this point I cannot believe that O will be the nominee.
Allah is being duped if he thinks it will take The Perfect Candidate (Romney) to beat O in ’12.

Assuming she runs, if she does somehow face Obama, she’ll turn him into mincemeat. Hell, a 16 year old could turn HIM into mincemeat by ’12.

I have followed politics for a long time; there is no way Rahm wants Obama facing Palin in 2012. Her charisma and superstar status make her a wild card and thus unpredictable. Also Sarah is Obama’s #1 nemesis. No way Obama wants to face her and be sliced and diced on a continual basis by a candidate that does not possess an ounce of white guilt.

With Sarah you get a solid Deep South and a real good shot to pick up the majority of the Rocky Mountain states including Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico and her ability to compete well in the mid-west and the industrial states because of her working class roots.

The only thing you have wrong is who Sarah will be facing in 2012. It ain’t Duh Won.

Don’t peak too early, AP. You can slowly dial it back, from a 10 to 1 negative/positive ratio, then 5 to 1, etc. over the next 3 years soaking up the hits and ad $, then be somewhat supportive just before she sews up the nomination.

That is your strategy, for traffic and to be on the right side of conservative ideology during the election, right?

I’m sure Axe and Rahm are trying to get it canceled or to get Oprah to do their dirty work.

Oprah though will not like that. She won’t like them trying to control her so much.

I think she will give a couple questions that may touch on the tension in the McCain campaign but I don’t think it will be an ambush.

Oprah and Palin are chatting semi-nicely as Oprah is giving her hell about wolf-thinning in Alaska…when suddenly Andrew Sullivan walks onstage with conspiracy fervor in his eyes.

I thought your analysis of the financial meltdown was excellent and unparalleled so it breaks my heart to disagree with you about Rahm wanting Palin’s favorables to go up.

I have followed politics for a long time; there is no way Rahm wants Obama facing Palin in 2012. Her charisma and superstar status make her a wild card and thus unpredictable. Also Sarah is Obama’s #1 nemesis. No way Obama wants to face her and be sliced and diced on a continual basis by a candidate that does not possess an ounce of white guilt.

With Huckabee and Romney what you see is what you get. With Huckabee you are sure to lose the Deep South but a good bet to win everywhere else especially in the SW; and with Romney you have a real good chance to win some states in the south as evangelicals perhaps stay away from the polls or have tepid enthusiasm for Romney in GOTV efforts. Sure you may lose a few Rocky Mountain states but Romney’s aristocratic bearing will prevent him from winning in the industrial, rust-belt states like Ohio.

No rockmom, don’t be fooled. Rahm still wants Palin destroyed. And this narrative about Palin starting a third party is all myth. Palin is following the Reagan “wilderness” playbook to the letter, but updating it to mesh with the 21stc technology of the Internet, Facebook, the blogosphere and blackberries. She will not be starting a third party and Rahm and Obama know that.

As to why Oprah agreed to have Palin on her program. Technopeasant’s number one rule of politics or in this case business is follow the money. And in terms of TV, higher ratings mean more money for Oprah.

Rush said he has not spoken to her. She called from the bus on the campaign trail. We all heard him freak out when the signal was lost (tee hee hee!) and the relief when she could call back.

Sarah, if you are reading this, please do a video clip on Facebook. My daughter is 5 and wants to see you; she is starting to complain about Obama being too much on TV.

COMMENT:

1)According to the Gallup poll last week Palin’s F/UF are now 40/50. As battleoflepanto1570 put it a few days ago, “Is there really anybody in America that is going to hate Palin down the road that doesn’t already hate Palin?

In other words the Palin-haters or those with PDS have already been outed by the 2008 election.

Of the 50% UF there is perhaps 15-20% who lean that way because of the smear campaign, the Couric interview, Tina Fey, her inexperience, the “quitter” meme or because Sarah is a female. The greater majority of these folks do NOT hate Sarah Palin, but simply believe ‘the jury is still out on her’. These folks are skeptics, fence-sitters, or simply not prepared to make a decision on Palin right now.

These are the folks that Palin has to win over, which is one of the primary purposes of the Oprah interview.

2)And to your point she has been irreparably harmed you must not be a student of history; there are many instances in world history that men and women have faltered, failed or been mediocre in performance and have come back to resurrect their careers or been celebrated in other activities. Think of Winston Churchill in the 1930′s who was consigned to the wilderness of the conservative backbenches and became the PM of GB during WWII and later voted the greatest Brit of the 20c, there was Frank Sinatra whose career had hit a low point who resurrected his career by winning an Oscar in For Here to Eternity, and there was Judy Garland who bottomed out in movies and resurrected her career by doing concerts and TV and finally there is Bill Clinton who was impeached and now a highly regarded speaker and elder statesman regardless of what you think of his politics.

There are many second acts in American life contrary to the opinion of F Scott Fitzgerald.

Sarah Palin may resurrect herself or she may not but neither you or I can give a definitive answer at present. A year from now perhaps.
