These cnn people and their interviewees have one thing correct: I listen and support Rush Limbaugh because he answers the traitors and 5th column scum with the same thoughts and words I would use.

Limbaugh acts like my senator or congressman should: speak for me.

This is the kind of analysis you get when you filter the data through a bovine sphincter. Then again, most of what you hear on the old mainstream media is filtered through a bovine sphincter as well. Add that to the fact that the old MSM and most likely liberal talk radio won't report on anything unless they can make something out of it for their agenda. When they run short on that stuff, they'll make it up as they go, like the bogus quotes that supposedly came from Rush....

This is a great piece because it effectively illustrates the bias that is inherent in CNN reporting. A couple of easy examples demonstrate that this report is nothing more than advocacy. I am all in favor of advocacy but NOT when it is presented as objective as in this piece (this word chosen purposely).

Those who repeatedly state that FOX News is biased should spend five minutes thinking about this report so they know how to recognize actual bias rather than the conspiracies born of a fevered mind.

#1 This reporter expects viewers to believe that there is a mystery behind why people listen to conservative hosts. The reporter presents her "investigation" (scare quotes can be used by us as well). Using a psychiatrist to explain why it happens is the journalistic equivalent of the question "Do you still beat your wife?" The psychiatrist (no doubt fresh from her photo-op at the white house) is happy to oblige and paints conservative hosts as bullies and listeners as dupes and toadies. It appears that this psychiatrist did her residency at the DNC.

#2 The reporter accepts the explanation given by Rhodes that the only reason more people listen to conservative voices is due to access. Ignore the fact that she has serious credibility baggage AND that Rhodes just might have an axe to grind and let's get to her business acumen. Her understanding of the talk radio business plan seems to consist of pin the tail on the donkey. My five year old might buy her explanation but the only people who think that business of talk radio is arbitrary are probably fashioning a thicker foil hat for the upcoming winter months. Companies don't simply fill the airways with conservative voices by happenstance. The voices that succeed do so because of popularity and profit. Pretending that the deck is stacked against liberals is demonstrably false and there are enough failed business models involving Al Franken to make it clear.

Those who like to pretend that CNN and FOX are just two sides of the same coin are either ill informed or willfully mislead. FOX commentators are biased - that is their job. But from my experience they don't do this kind of underhanded reporting. It is also unnecessary for the channel to try to balance the number of viewpoints to meet some arbitrary standard of liberal representation.

If Ailes and the powers that be figure a way to change the line-up in a way that adds more liberal voices it will be because they have a model showing that it will make more money.

The interview could have extracted the same quality of response from a Chimpanzee, Dolphin a Chihuahua, a skunk, a toad, or a cow bird.

In other words, the statement made by that "psychiatrist" is meaningless and not scientific or objective. It is strictly her opinion, and a clearly biased opinion.

She is not "Speaking as a psychiatrist" but as an opinionated person with a bias against Rush Limbaugh and against people who enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh and any other conservative radio talk show hosts who are enjoyable, smart, well informed, and entertaining.

Where did that "psychiatrist" get her degree and her license"? Toys 'R Us, or was it the vending machine from the boardwalk at Atlantic City New Jersey, or Coney Island?

Did anyone else catch how the CNN commentator refers to Randi Rhodes as a talk show host whom some people find to be liberal"?

The CNN reporter couldn't even bring herself to call a strident uber-liberal a liberal.

Then they examine the psycho-pathology of conservatives.

And they wonder why so few viewers watch their liberal echo chamber of a network as it circles the drain?

People choose to listen to conservative talk radio in numbers which dwarf the audiences of liberal talk radio in even greater proportions than Fox News clobbers the viewership of CNN (which, having been surpassed by MSNBC, is down to close friends and family).

Ground work? Really? I’m not sure you’ve noticed, but they’re telling you what kind of light bulb you’re allowed to use. Anyone who doesn’t already think we’re a totalitarian nation hasn’t been watching.

This is a movement laying the ground work for a totalitarian power grab.

There are more conservative talk radio shows than liberal shows because there is a bigger market for conservative talk radio shows. More people want to listen to conservative talk radio than to liberal talk radio.

Why? – no one really knows.

So it’s the free market that is determining the relative amounts of conservative and liberal radio talk shows. It’s not some vast right wing conspiracy restricting “access” to liberal shows. It’s just supply and demand. Bigger demand for conservative shows produces a bigger supply.

Oops! The why? question hit a tender spot.

I'm just one conservative that finds all talk radio kind of boring.

But I'll say again - there are more conservative talk radio shows because that's what the free market is producing. That is the way things are supposed to work. Randi Rhodes can't understand that.

Can’t get a job, huh?

In jobs not involving deep fryers, trusted employees are often afforded a high degree of autonomy, trusted to provide product on time without babysitting from a supervisor.

Maybe when you finally get your degree from DeVry, you'll land a job where you get that level of independence. Dare to dream, knucklehead. Dare to dream.
