Obama to conservatives: Grab a mop and help me clean up your mess
posted at 3:35 pm on October 16, 2009 by Allahpundit
The good news: The “socialist mop” line made me laugh. The bad news: He’ll be telling us it’s our mess that he’s cleaning up until, oh, 2015 or so at the earliest. How he’s planning to blame the stimulus waste or inevitable cost overruns on health care on the right isn’t yet clear to me, but have faith. He’ll find a way. It’s … what he does.
Question: Given the electoral realities in Congress these days, is it really the right that’s his biggest pain in the ass?
“Can I speak freely about the liberal whiners?” asks a well-connected Democratic strategist. “These are the same people who have never participated in, much less won, a campaign, who have no idea what it takes to maintain a majority and keep a speaker of our party, who want Obama to kowtow to the loony Left, and then they’re going to be the ones who say, ‘What happened?’ in November 2010, when we lose the House and possibly the Senate and maybe a lot of governorships.”…
What to do? “Triangulate, baby, triangulate,” the Democratic strategist says. The netroots fringes are not only the loudest but also the least liked segment of the Democratic Party. If Obama, as well as Reid and Pelosi, are seen as standing up to the extremes on their side, that can’t hurt with moderate and conservative Democrats, as well as with the independents who have been abandoning the president in droves.
“Some disappointment and carping on the Left is good for Obama politically,” the strategist explains. “He needs to manage the Left well enough that he gets a [health care] bill passed, but not well enough that they shut up completely.”
Meanwhile, a good catch here by David Boze’s producer Jake. Weren’t we told just two months ago that when it comes to cleaning up messes, the best thing we can do is to shut up and get out of the way?

We’re not the ones who made the mess. The Republican Party let us know we weren’t wanted and pushed us to the side before Bush was elected.
This mess is entirely the creation of liberal Republicans and Democrats.
We stood aside and let the Ivy league educated elite run things and they’ve run the country into the ground. Now they want to blame us for what they did whiloe condemning us for trying to take our country back and put it into the hands of people with some common sense.

Sweet_Thang on October 16, 2009 at 4:14 PM
OK let’s see how that works.
Mr President! Those people sitting on the sidelines are the loyal opposition. They are there because you ,and your party refuse to meet with them. You refuse to hear their ideas or apparently even consider that they might possibly have ideas. There are millions of Americans being denied their right to representation because you and your party will not allow their elected representatives to participate in the writing of law(s). You and your party won’t even allow these representatives the time to read your bills before voting on them.
Those on “the sidelines” are there because that is the only place they are allowed to be and they are rooting for the failure of your 5 year plans because they do not believe in them. That is what opposition is all about. I guess in your mind acceptable opposition amounts to disagreeing with what color tie to wear or something equally insignificant.
You want help cleaning up the mess that in truth is the blame of both parties? Then get the hell out of the way and let all Americans and their elected Representatives participate.

The Traitor-in-Chief isn’t qualified to work as a janitor. In fact, he is totally unqualified for any kind of productive occupation.
All Osama Obama can do is hide behind his affirmative-action, first-black-President shield and whine about how difficult other people have made it for him to get his own way without expending any effort.
The Chicago Jesus is nothing more than a whiny child. The problem is that when this particular oversized infant throws a tantrum (as he will), America will suffer.

First, I don’t think anyone ever accused Obama of not mopping fast enough. He’s running the high speed buffer in Walmart at midnight.
Second, it’s bad that Obama’s now joking about the socialist mop. It will desensitize people to that fact that he wants to socialize this country.

Funny that you mention Barney, because it was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd that ran the mortgage banking industry into the ground with their “there’s no crisis” talk back in 2003. It was Democrats, y’know, the folks that controlled Fanny and Freddie from 1996 until now, that played the three-card monty with AIG and the mortgage-backed securities as political fodder for their constituents via ACORN and other leftist “community” organizations.
But then, you don’t give a damn. It’s all about control with you and your ilk.
Get bent and go to hell, Bleeder.

I despise him more and more each day. For months he has refused to meet with GOP senators about their proposals for the health care reform bills. Yet he goes out and demonizes them for “not having any ideas.”
I wish one of these Senators would stand up and outline exactly how many times they have made requests to meet with the president since last spring and were denied. Hold a news conference and say that it’s not their fault they are not at the table. Show how duplicitous President F*khead is.

As a community organizer and fellow traveler with ACORN, Obama played a direct role in the sub-prime crisis. He trained activist to shake down businesses and bully banks into lowering their lending standards.
The Clinton administration pushed for less stringent credit and downpayment requirements for working- and middle-class families. Obama rewarded these flunkies by giving them key positions in his new administration. They were omnipresent in his campaign until attention was drawn to their role in the crisis, like Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson; then they were thrown under the bus, but always kept around.
Obama was part of the Democratic Congress in 2006. The same Congress which continues to support a mortgage tax deduction that gives consumers a tax incentive to buy more expensive houses.
Obama’s current Secretary of Treasury worked at the Federal Reserve where he played a key role in the bank bailouts. Obama was updated on meetings by Hank Paulson’s aides. He has doubled down on the bonuses and bailouts.
Recessions happen periodically, but they also pass quickly by nature. Obama actually made the recession worse with his spending which by all accounts has accomplished NOTHING. Just like Obama has done NOTHING but campaign.
Spare me your fatuous arguments.

The GOP is not responsible for our fiscal mess, and really the Democrats aren’t either. It takes an advance degree in economics to royally hose an economy this badly. The politicians listened to people who they assumed knew what they were talking about, because they had Ivy League degrees, and went along with what they said, same as you would a financial adviser who gave you advice about how to invest your IRA.

You don’t want it, great, I agree.
Because frankly, you suck at being president. You have no idea what you’re doing.

Yet that is exactly what this administration is doing. They dropped the interest rate to 0, and got the FHA to start writing those same types of bad mortgages to unqualified applicants that got us here in the first place. Why hasn’t the tighter leverage limits that were taken out of Glass-Steagall been reinstated? It’s a bold face lie, they are doing exactly what was done before, except now the government is writing %90 of the bad mortgages through the FHA.

Your attempt to pour scorn over Obama’s abdication of responsibility is a complete fail, on two separate counts
1) The subprime crisis was caused by using Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac to get banks to make bad loans to people who couldn’t pay them back. One of the prime companies agitating for these loans: Acorn. The legal counsel for Acorn: Obama. Obama’s fingerprints are all over the subprime crisis, even though he wasn’t in the Senate yet. Or did you think his life didn’t begin until he was elected to the Senate? In fact, the primary recipients of money from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac while President Bush was calling for reform and they were resisting were Chris Dodd (head of the Banking committee) and Barack Obama, who was supposedly just a freshman senator.
If your fingerprints are all over a mess, then you should expect to be held responsible.
2) Just like Obama himself, you want to define everything in terms of just Obama. Sorry, but Obama doesn’t exist in a vacuum. The party that is in control of Congress, and has been in control of Congress since 2006, is the Democrats. The entire Democratic party owns the fiasco, regardless of when exactly Obama became president.
So even if Obama could pretend he had nothing to do with the mess, by being the Democratic candidate for president, then president, and now the leader of the Democratic party, it’s his mess to clean up.
And instead he’ll claim it’s not his fault, and you’ll pretend that Obama is the poor victim.
Bad troll!
