So, they don’t ground their children… I’m assuming they don’t spank them… And this dad is trying to build a Jetsons-esque travel vehicle out of a giant Jiffy Pop balloon and enough electricity around it to create a plasma field? Good grief, this guy sounds like a looney; not that I’d expect much else from Ft. Collins (which I love a mere 45 minutes away from, God help me).

I actually flew out of the Denver International Airport yesterday and found out from listening to a few passengers on my flight that they did indeed reroute air traffic for a brief 60-90 minute period in defference to the search for this boy. Ugh. Here’s hoping this family has to foot the bill for that bit of nonsense. That’s a couple hours worth of layovers and schedule hiccups for a thousand plus people, all because some boy decided to hide in an attic and the authorities/family failed to search out every room in their house before sending a giant crew on a county-wide ground search.

This whole story is just hilariously overblown… was from the start, to be honest.

If this is indeed the hoax that it appears to be, the family should not only be fined for the rescue attempt costs, they should also be billed for any and all disruptions to the airline industry.

If this contraption disrupted airline schedules by intruding on the flight lanes, that causes large disruptions, and delays.

Just watching this wackjob family on Larry King Live, with Wolf Blitzer guest hosting. Wolf asks the boy why he was up in the attic for 4 hours….the boy, Falcon, hesitates then says,”Cause my Dad said it was a big show”. Not surprisingly if you saw Celebrity Jeopardy, Wolf totally misses this and goes on to the next question. The dad had a look of shear terror. This happened about ten minutes ago. I give it until noon tomorrow until this whole thing unravels and child services intervenes. Sad.

Wow, the kid said this? You gotta ask yourself how all the kids would be able to keep this ruse going for as long as they did. These kids clearly don’t have any discipline, if they were put up to do this, they’re going to be spilling soon. Sounds like they maybe already are.

The one line from the dad was priceless – “No we don’t ground our kids.” Well, forgive me for intruding on your lives but perhaps it is time to consider making some adjustments to your approach, dad.

I think there are too many holes in this story and the family hedged when Wolf asked about the videotape of the day’s events that the oldest son had shot. The father dodged the question completely. These people are bizarre. Wolf asked about why Falcon said “we did this for the show” and why he was in the attic hiding for 4 hours while this whole affair is going on. The father is now acting defensive toward Wolf for asking the question. Henne said he is “appalled” that Wolf would question how the events unfolded. Wolf said he was trying to debunk the allegations that this was a hoax. Sounds like a hoax to me. The nation was punked by these kids.

The children behave strangely. Two of them are in their own little worlds and the oldest looks a bit withdrawn. Not surprising given the parents. Falcon is pretending to shoot his brother in the head. Nice.

The kid would be probably be more competant than 90 percent of the Czars and would do less damage than 100 percent of them.
