Rasmussen daily tracking poll:

-11 (28-39) strongly approve-strongly disapprove

-4(47-51) approval-disapproval

First day at 47 approval since Sept 17 and has been between 47 and 52 approval every day for 6 weeks.

Per Rasmussen, Obama did not get a Nobel peace prize bounce.

I was going to compare the Obamas to the Jeffersons, but after giving it some thought, I remembered that for all of his inane buffonery, the character George Jefferson worked and paid for everything the family had.

The Obamas are just another black family in public housing, except for their million dollar house in Chicago, which we can't search the title on.

I predict a 15 round heavyweight championship of the world, a bare-knuckle brawl in the center of the ring where Obama will not escape unscathed. Sarah will land many telling blows and open wounds. It will be a fight to the finish. Sarah will never give up.

Obama could still win with a crooked referee in his corner and judges that have been bribed. Sarah will have to knock the Messiah out to win IMHO. Will the referee (the MSM) prevent him from getting knocked out? We'll know in 2012.

technopeasant on October 16, 2009 at 1:57 AM

I guess I'm just more optimistic. I've been "all in" for Palin since I first heard about her several years ago. I was convinced she was going to be in the White House some day.

I hear you about the butterfly though. Frankly I think we are seeing that now. She is such a fast learner that she has grown incredibly in the last couple of years.

She simply blows you away.

But here's what I see, and why I see it. I see Sarah having a tough, but relatively fast past to the nomination. Sarah has things money can't buy, and schools can't teach you. First, she has charisma, REAL charisma out the ying yang. She immediately draws you in. She grabs your attention.

Sarah has a instinct for politics that one rarely sees. She is just a natural at this. She's like a really good chess player who not only sees his move, but what your counter will be, and then his next, and so on. In other words, two or three plays ahead of the competition.

And of course, she has common sense, something totally lacking among the "elites" in our society.

With ObamaCare, I just can't see Romney being able to shake his folly with MittensCare. He can blame the mess on the democrats "ruining his baby," but the fact that he didn't see that coming is all you need to know about him.

And Huckabee ain't gonna get it done. His ego will make him run, but it ain't gonna happen.

I think Pawlenty will actually be more of a challenge, because he will end up being the media's golden boy. He's just so John McCain they won't be able to stop themselves.

In the end, this will give Sarah a chance to debate and debate hard, and that's what we want. If she wins the nomination too easy, which she might, it'll look like she had no competition to challenge her. If she has a good old knock down drag out deal, it'll prove she is who WE know she is. Plus it'll just be fun to watch!

I think you could run a set of toenail clippers in 2012 and beat Obama. But Palin won't just beat him, she will win big, giving her a real mandate to deconstruct decades of Washington's mistakes.

Sarah will not only be the nominee, she will win.

wildcat84

She may win something, but it won't be the White House. Any shot we may have will be killed by her nomination.

It's moot anyway. The economy will be just fine come 2012, not because of Obama but despite him. As a result, brotha man will cruise to re-election. To not re-elect him would be racist, and the media will be sure to let everyone know. And just like 2008, plenty of wet-noodle independents will bend over for the chocolate enema because they're afraid someone will think badly of them.

I think we have a long way to go before Sarah become the GOP nominee in 2012. I have watched enough sports and politics to understand the peaks and valleys of competition and how the presence of setbacks and pitfalls can throw a team for a loop or a campaign off the rails. Upsets or dark horses happen in politics as well as in sports.

Thus I will not commit to Sarah being the GOP nominee in 2012 but I will say that I am 90% sure it will either be Romney, Huckabee or Palin unless one of them does not run. Then that would open the door for a dark horse like Pawlenty or somebody else.

Now why do I think that way. Yes it is 2 years to the primary debates but if one is to be successful in presidential politics in the 21st c one must have started planning for a serious run no later than 2 years out from January 2012 which would put it at January 2010. Look at what happened to Fred Thompson when he tried to short-cut the process. It's like a boxer who thinks he can slack off training for a fight because of his experience and then gets his ass handed to him by a fighter who "paid his dues".

Why I am so impressed with Sarah Palin is because I really believe she gets it, that there are no short cuts to success, the making a serious run at the presidency in the 21st is a long-term commitment that involves first getting your ducks in a row, then building the infrastructure of a campaign gradually one piece at a time in a very methodical, efficient manner, and then using her book as a passport to go on the road to start making her case to the jury (American voters)as she builds up more credibility along the way and yes LEGITIMIZES her claims to be a leader of the GOP and a frontrunner for the nomination.

The latter is still up in the air. It's called performance and execution. "That's why they play the game".

But I will say this if Palin can get to September 2010 relatively unscathed and "ready for bear" I do believe that in the 60 days leading up the 2010 midterms we might before our eyes be witnessing the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly.

Sarah is in good shape and poised to be one of the two finalists for the GOP nomination in 2012, and this far out that is not a bad spot to be.

It’s like a boxer who thinks he can slack off training for a fight because of his experience and then gets his ass handed to him by a fighter who “paid his dues”.

It's scary that 48% of those polled approve of Obama's efforts vis-a-vis the economy. It only goes to show that there are an enormous number of Americans who have absolutely no clue when it comes to economics and policy. Sort of like Obama.

However, if the economy improves enough and soon enough, and there are no catastrophic events that are obviously Obama’s fault, Barry is going to be very tough to beat. He has so many major sectors of the culture working for him, news, entertainment, teaching, unions, and the wine and cheese set.
I totally agree. But we'd have a much better shot if Murdoch ever got NBC.

I hope you’re wrong. I can deal with the other ones losing, but i’ll go crazy when she loses. Even this past election was easier to handle because I didn’t like McCain.

Well ... the goal is to win. ;)

And ... as long as the Tea Party folks take the GOP next year ...

We will win.

These numbers come only 10 months after dude took the helm.

They WILL get worse by November, 2010. A lot worse. If we get attacked by terrorists - they will get even worse. If Israel is attacked by Iran or Iran gets nukes or Israel is forced to attack Iran and Iran throws a hissy ...

It gets worse for Obama.

If anything difficult happens while he's sitting in the office - the numbers get worse because he will botch the handling on any crisis that appears before him no matter how simple and elementary the solution may be to it.

Why? Because we have an idiot in the Oval Office who can be relied upon to do one thing consistently ...

screw up.
