Video: Beck sets up special hotline for White House to whine about Fox News

posted at 7:44 pm on October 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

An easy joke but a good one, and richly, richly deserved.

I’m told that our favorite liberal went off on the crybabies in Anita Dunn’s office for a good half-hour in the “Strategy Room” this afternoon, but alas, there’s no video on FNC’s site. If anyone happened to capture the web feed, let me know.

I think it would be more appropriate to have yellow phone for the hotline to the White House.

GLENN BECK FTW!!!

I actually thought it might ring at the end.

He ought to do it every day, like Olbermoron and his ‘mission accomplished’ timeline that he so very cares about so very deeply

If Obama calls, Glenn may be able to complete his On Air break down. I’d love to hear that exchange.

Anita Dunn was quoted saying this…

Glenn Beck would be the Man that I would sit down and Have a Root Beer with…..a down right American statesman.
God Bless our Armed Forces who are in the belly of the beast. fighting the enemy to defeat.

Seconded!

You need a thread on the interview between Steve Wynn and Cavato at 6pm today. He stated at the end that it is a better business environment in China vs USA right now.

YIKES!! :-)

ny59giants on October 13, 2009 at 7:53 PM

I predict a team of “plumbers” consisting of Rahm Emmanual,David Axelrod, & Joe Biden to break into Glenn Becks studios and plant bugs in the phones/steal files.

They’ll get caught because Joe Biden will take off his glove and play with the red phone thus leaving finger prints.

Rahm:“Dammit Joe, I told you to leave your gloves on!”
Biden:“I can’t push the buttons with the gloves on..”
Axelrod:“I told you we should have left Joe in the Prius.”

Nothing like a good mocking of the White House. They bring it upon themselves.

ICBM on October 13, 2009 at 7:59 PM

I hope FOX News uses this brouhaha as advertising fodder. For that matter, if we had a functioning Republican Party, they would already be running with it (can you imagine Lee Atwater responding to Anita Dunn’s whine?).

Here’s a shot at suggested ad copy:

Hi, I’m Glenn Beck. As you probably are aware, I am hated by the current Administration more than the Taliban, al-queda, and even Osama bin Laden. So much so, in fact, that the Obama Administration has declared “war” on me and my network.

Want to know why? Come see for yourself…

(and liberal heads explode all over the Interwebs)

His interview with Vince Flynn on radio was excellent.

This red phone hotline is really funny.

I’ve never really liked Beck’s schtick but this is genius. He trapped them: he can say that the WH has refused to deny [theme of the day].

casel21 on October 13, 2009 at 8:15 PM

Very funny but that phone will never, ever ring.

The White House has shot itself in the foot by going after Fox News. They really would have been better off ignoring them completely.

But they are too thin-skinned.

The most amusing thing about libs is they take themselves so seriously they think their whining will score points.

Beck’s sense of humor here is outstanding in its subtlety and nuance. He did more in 60 seconds of mentioning this than the WH woman did on Sunday in nine minutes of simpering.

the_nile on October 13, 2009 at 8:45 PM

The typical story began with a villain (often one of a short list of recurring super-criminals) committing a crime, such as stealing a fabulous gem or taking over Gotham City. This was followed by a scene inside Police Commissioner Gordon’s office where he and Chief O’Hara would deduce exactly which villain they were dealing with. Gordon would press a button on the Batphone, a bright red telephone located on a pedestal in his office. The scene then cut to stately Wayne Manor where Alfred the butler would answer the Batphone, which sat like a normal everyday telephone on the desk in Bruce Wayne’s study. Frequently, Wayne and his ward, Dick Grayson, would be found talking with Dick’s Aunt Harriet. Alfred would interrupt so they could excuse themselves and go to the Batphone. Upon learning which criminal he would face this time, Bruce would push a button concealed within a bust of Shakespeare that stood on his desk causing a bookcase to slide back and revealing two poles. “To the Batpoles!” Wayne would exclaim, at which he and Grayson would slide down to the Batcave,

I thought this was awesome too, it was definitely good TV. I was actually anticipating (however unrealistic it may be) the phone ringing, followed by a total throwdown.

Slightly OT, but did anyone see Glenn talking to Sheriff Joe on Friday? If so, did anyone besides me find his interview obnoxious and condescending? I’m a bigtime Beck fan, but found this confusing and annoying!

Thread winner!!

I saw Beck on Fox & Friends early this morning and he was saying they were going to put the phone in.

This is such pure genius. Obama keeps whining like a baby, and Beck consistently tells them to refute him if he’s wrong, and they can’t.

Crybaby Obama still whines so Beck gives them a private line to call in to correct him on the air if he says something wrong.

Beck is a hell of a lot smarter than a lot of folks give him credit for.

BTW, if you don’t have his book, Arguing With Idiots, GET IT! It should be used as a text book in school. It’s that good.

I saw that, but it wasn’t Beck that was off.
In typical Beck fashion, he asked for Joe to clarify a statement that he made about being able to pull people over for..well..basically not looking right.
Sheriff Joe didn’t articulate an explanation very well.
At least thats the way it seemed to me.

Beck is in a position where he must do this, or the MSM will spin his failure to ask for clarifications as an endorsement to any statement made by anyone…after they spin it into whatever they want, with the most predictable one being racism.
