Quotes of the day

“Beyond the debate over the size of government is this less defined question whose answer could influence the outcome of Obama’s presidency: As he sells his administration’s solutions to the country’s problems, is his do-everything, be-everywhere leadership style in tune with the times?…
Obama has been a constant presence in the mass media as he expands the bureaucracy’s reach into the private sector while presiding over national debates on issues that have become the focus of arguments over big government.
In doing so, he has created a quandary. Put aside for a moment the question of whether government is actually intruding into people’s lives more than before. The point is that many people feel like it is — in part because Obama doesn’t stop talking about his goals. If President George W. Bush got slapped around for being inarticulate, is Obama obnoxiously articulate?”

“Terrorists? ‘Now let me be clear: We are indeed at war with al-Qaida and its affiliates.’
Student testing? ‘Let me be clear: Success should be judged by results, and data is a powerful tool to determine results.’
Iran? ‘Let me be clear: Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile activity poses a real threat, not just to the United States, but to Iran’s neighbors and our allies.’
Auto bailouts? ‘Let me be clear: The United States government has no interest in running GM.’
The president takes the phrase everywhere.
In Moscow: ‘Let me be clear: America wants a strong, peaceful, and prosperous Russia.’
In Ghana: ‘Let me be clear: Africa is not the crude caricature of a continent at perpetual war.’
In Italy, bemoaning poor U.S. leadership on climate change: ‘Let me be clear: Those days are over.’
In Trinidad, announcing new aid: ‘Let me be clear: This is not charity.’”

Mornin’, Skippy. Had your Count Chocula yet? A narrow victory does not make a mandate. Try studying how to add up to 100% in school and what the term “diminuishing poll numbers” means today.

:Sigh: Here we go again.
“OMG!!11!!1! Obama is the most wickedest awesomest most brilliantest smartesd mostest genius President EVAH!!11!!!!!!!!!1111!!1!11!!!!1″
I’ve said it before and I can’t say it enough. I’ve worked and still work with people who actually are the smartest people in the room and they don’t act like they are!! They’re quite humble (sometimes you wonder how they get through life without being hit by a train, but they’re good humble people none the less), and not arrogant. Arrogant people generally get fired because they talk a good game without producing any results. Sound familiar?
Obama is not the smartest person in the room. He just isn’t. He is someone who’s been told since he was little how wonderful and brilliant he is and has had everything handed to him because daddy was black. The result is that he is spoiled, mean, and arrogant and thinks he can solve any problem just by saying he will, and if he doesn’t get his way the 2-year-old Barry comes out (just look at the hissy-fit over Fox News). He’s no genius – at best he has average intelligence coupled with leftist indoctrination, so he’s smart enough to spew out leftist plattitudes and feel-good phrases, but not smart enough to actually do the job of President.
If his father was white he’d have, at best, gone to a state university (not that there’s anything wrong with that. I did). He would not have had a Harvard education (not that an Ivy League education is really any better or worse than any other school). So the whole “Obama is such a genius that we can’t understand him so we should just shut up and stop questioning him” thing is getting not only tiresome, but downright dangerious.
Plus, I’m getting really tired of the whole country suffering while he plays out his abscent father issues.

Verizon had layoffs this past Friday. I think 10% is coming sooner than “any month now.” I’m thinking “any day now.”

The MSM repeatedly hammered Nixon for the use of the phrase “I want to make one thing perfectly clear…”
Today all we get is crickets.
