Democrats’ 2010 midterm strategy: Attack relentlessly and win ugly

posted at 10:22 pm on October 12, 2009 by Allahpundit

That’s what the “experts” are telling them, anyway. I don’t know, though. It’s so … unlike them.

Do Nancy “Un-American” Pelosi and Harry “Evil-mongers” Reid really have it in them to go bareknuckle?

“Very often the instinct for an incumbent party is to defend and justify,” said Geoff Garin, a pollster for Democratic candidates. “But in this kind of environment, the best defense is a good offense. This needs to be a cycle where Republican vulnerabilities are a central part of the debate.”

Charlie Cook, the nonpartisan political handicapper, framed the Democrats’ challenge for 2010 more bluntly. It does not track the genial, new-politics identity that President Obama has cultivated.

“They’re going to have to play really rough,” said Mr. Cook, who pegs Democrats’ chances for holding the House next year at only slightly better than even…

Democrats will “have to make the opponent the issue,” said Neil Newhouse, a Republican pollster. “No. 1, try to tie them to George W. Bush — and then make it personal after that.”

In other words, expect a lot more fat jokes from our enlightened progressive brethren when they’re not busy comparing themselves to Bob Dylan for claiming that Republicans want sick people to die. Meanwhile, the GOP’s own strategy evidently will focus on linking vulnerable House Democrats to Pelosi, since Bambi’s willingness to run up trillion-dollar deficits year after year after year into the future still isn’t enough to soil his good name with most of the public. Are we sure he’s not the Messiah? His ability to achieve jack squat while maintaining the love of the public borders on the supernatural.

Exit question: If next year’s GOP gains are underwhelming, how much of a consolation will it be to see Reid upset in Nevada? Because, dude, it’s happening.

Just like the egregious brand of racism, specious attack and assault mode is a liberal forte. It matters not whether the claim is unfounded and patently untrue. In their minds, once they spew some vitriolic propaganda, the lie becomes true. Liberals have really gotten sadism down pat, and nothing will stop them from using it. They’ve perfected the art of deleterious stun, hit, and run. It’s certainly worked for them in the past, I just hope it doesn’t in the future.

Democrats will keep winning ugly until Republicans have the gonads to roll back all the election rigging laws their opponents have implemented. Motor voter laws are fraudulent by design. Early voting laws are fraudulent by design. Ohio now has an election month — an entire MONTH — not an election day.

The people who pushed these changes know how to take advantage of them and they will continue to do so because the “fair play” crowd are too timid and stupid to stop them.

Attack relentlessly by democrats is what’s dividing America. And, they will win ‘ugly, if the complainers still sit in front of their TV’s & not vote in 2010.

Nancy Pelosi — three years ago she told Far Left anti-win-the-Iraq-War protesters in San Francisco, “I’m a fan of disruptors.” Now she calls them ‘un-Americans’ typical democrat.

There is a new, underground book just out that parallels modern day times to the American Revolution times. It’s about real people in a small, American town that stands up to federal tyranny & starts the 2nd American Revolution. It’s great, cause those issues, back in colonial days, are present today (high taxes, govt. tyranny, etc.). I bought it for a friend & recommend it to all. Find out what’s next & what each of us need to do to prepare for dangerous days coming.

For the first time I am investing in conservative candidates(Marco Rubio(FL), Pat Toomey(PA), Bob McDonnell(VA), Chuck Devore(CA), Michael Williams(TX)). And I am not done yet. Every conservative is going to get something from me.

And then RINO’s need to be shunned. For instance I won’t be wasting money on McCain, Grahmnesty, Crist etc… If we have a conservative opponent(no blue dogs… only R’s) to these maverick’s I am willing to consider them.

Harry Reid won’t be missed. Goodbye.

I suspect Dems don’t want POTUS anywhere near their campaigns in 2010. Particularly after the Nobel made him a laughingstock. Also I think Afghanistan is going to get bloody and the constant indecision by POTUS is going to cost POTUS(that is an unpleasant thought in itself. I hope he gets this one right.) Sure, those taxes take away from the economy thus hurting it even more but if enough fools get a “free” handout to make them feel better if only for a little while then they’ll continue to vote Democrat. That’s the key you see. Give them enough to make it look like you care and are helping but not enough to lift them up and enable them to take care of themselves.

And right after he became precedent, obama(pbuh) announced that the executive branch was taking over the census and I barely heard a peep from anyone over the outrageous action and still don’t. I can’t understand why this ain’t challenged tooth and nail by anyone??? It just seems to accepted by everyone as if McCain is running things on the opposition. Nothing to see here, move along.

Just like the electorate doesn’t need to hear that he brought up his daughters under the tutelage of a raving racist pastor…..no, no, no, that wouldn’t be nice or classy to point out.

It seems that the radicals from the ’60s really think that this is their last-best shot at bringing down the American system and creating a magical government where high taxes and pixie dust creates peace on Earth and free medical care for all.

Sigh!

Grays on would be lucky to capture 10% of her districts vote. Now while Fiorina may pass only a few of your litmus tests, she stands a fighting chance of unseating San Fran Nan.

Get your knickers out of a bunch and keep your priorities straight, oust the wench and get the seat/vote in the House! What are you freakin delusional?

Archimedes on October 13, 2009 at 12:28 AM

Methinks this is how we got “Benedict Arlen” Spector and Olympia Snowe job. No thanks, i’ll stick to my principles and damn the cost.

alohapundit on October 13, 2009 at 2:11 AM

One key defense against massive voter fraud is to get more Republicans elected as Secretary of State. Can you imagine what would have happend in Florida in 2000 if the Secretary of State there had been an ACORN elected Dem? Shudders.

“Charlie Cook, the nonpartisan political handicapper”

Sure he is. Sure he is….

these people both DEMS and GOP insiders are soo clueless.

the GOp needs to be for something: smaller government, lower taxes, finacial security, liberty, freedom. Most the the voting people have no idea who Pelosi is. they could care less about inside baseball like the speaker of the house. They want to know what their reps are going to do for them to help protect their children and to ensure the American dream.

the dems need to start working with the GOp. As long as they keep the GOP out of the loop They will never be able to paint the GOp as holding up anything. all the GOP has to do is say we do not run anything. going mean and tough is a turn off to the voters. they do not want to hear how evil the out of power gop is. they want to know if the dems will continue to destroy the American dream. They want checks and balances.

Neither side appears to know anything about what the voters want. Just how to get and keep power. power that has seen in the last 9 months becomes worhtless to a degree because the majority of the American people are not behind them

As far as Obama’s poll numbers I think the racism charge is inflating his “approval” numbers just like during the election. People are afraid to say they do not approve of him for fear of being called a racist…yet they have no problem saying they can not stand his policies….

So how is this a ‘new strategy’ for the Democrats usual ‘lie cheat and steal’ the elections? I don’t see any change.

His ability to achieve jack squat while maintaining the love of the public borders on the supernatural.

Maybe he sold his soul to the devil. That would explain a lot of things about him, and how he got to where he is; with a lot of help from others with mortaged souls as well.

Vote early and vote often…I think we’re going to see the largest vote fraud in US history by far and the MSM will ignore it. If the republicans don’t win everything by a landslide, you can safely conclude that the great ole USA is over.

cjk on October 12, 2009 at 10:49 PM

The MSM won’t just ignore it, they’ll assist. Back in 2000 they ‘forgot’ the Florida panhandle (mostly Republican) was in a different time zone from the rest of the state (mostly Democrat) and reported the polls being closed and Gore winning the state when in fact they were still open for another hour. That attempt to suppress the Republican turnout went a long way to causing the problems in Florida during the election and I’m positive similar ‘problems’ will occur in 2010.

AaronGuzman on October 13, 2009 at 4:44 AM

You can’t keep blaming Bush if that’s their strategy. I think the ACORN style corruption will sink them, there’s no justification for that. It sounds like Andy B. has more film to show the corruption and if they don’t find a way to silence Beck, they’re gonna take a pounding.
