We need NATO to rejoin America in Afghanastan.

Simple stuff.

So we’ll see if they do. If they don’t, and I’m not expecting that, the the award is merely ‘issing in the wind.’

Flaws in this argument:

1. The IDF is a check on Hezbollah.
2. Hezbollah tried to establish allies in Iraq and failed, the Taliban will immediately have members in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
3. Hezbollah is a threat to the United States.
4. They can’t be trusted.

By the way, if the White House has any sense they would use an Iraq analogy, how the 1920 Brigades was an insurgent group that became an ally of the United States.

One thing here no one even considers is how many Americans and others NOT of the Islamic would step up to help Hezbollah in its attacks here in the US.

There are large groups of University and Liberal folks like Ward Churchill, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright to name a few who’d actively help them to cause terror and mayhem (along with no few currently working in the White House).

There are the folks like Pelosi, Franks, Reid, Ellison, and the rest of the Congressional gang who’d hamstring anyone’s efforts to “violate their civil rights” while trying to stop the attacks.

We’d also have the media playing up the mayhem and hammering anyone who took “unlawful” revenge back against those killing our people.

Last but not least, how many folks do you think Fidel, Chavez, Correa and maybe the Chinese and Russia have got here that might give aid and comfort?

There might be a good reason you felt that way initially, but subsequently, not wanting to be prejudicial or an Islamaphobe, wrote it off.

After all, these olived skinned, middle eastern types (oops, did I just profile? MB) all have peculiar traits and customs, so why should I play judge, jury and executioner? Live and let live.

The President tries to enlist the Taliban .. meanwhile the DNC uses the pejorative “Taliban” to describe the Republican reaction to the Nobel.

If the President can’t negotiate with the domestic “Taliban” what makes any one think that after the DNC insults them that they will have any better luck with the “Taliban” in Afghanistan.
