[...] Even mainstream media stunned, skeptical over Nobel Peace prize. Hot Air. What diplomatic efforts “so far”? He gave a speech in Cairo and … and … and … gave a few in Europe, too. That was the point of those questions from reporters; Obama has done little so far. He has mostly followed the Bush policies in two wars that the Nobel committee appeared to detest over the last few years.
I smell a set up. Check the bank accounts of the people on the committee. Ironically, a retired friend from special ops made a comment (about a month ago) about how these prizes had been bought and sold in the past. Don't ask if that can be documented or why he made that comment!

I can't wait until the acceptance speech. Envision scenarios where the "Nobel Committee" allows the ceremony to be televised. And, the entire entranced earth tunes in as our epic hero takes center stage.

His teleprompter will announce sharing the prize with the Palestinian people for the heroic struggle in throwing off the shackles of their Israeli slave masters.

Or, with Ahmadinejad by his side, he could announce sharing the prize with Iran in exchange for cessation of their nuclear program and legitimacy in the world community --- forget Neda et aliae!

We'll just have to wait and see. No matter I smell something rotten in Denmark --- er Norway. It smells of rotten money to me.

We have to nominate Jerry Seinfeld for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. He had a TV show for 10 years about nothing, at least he had a record to show for it.

What diplomatic efforts “so far”? He gave a speech in Cairo and … and … and … gave a few in Europe, too.

Included in those speeches in Europe was a certain masterpiece of a speech in Copenhagen, touting "The City on the Hill" as the ultimate venue for the Olympics.

That speech must have left a lasting impression on the Nobel committee.

However, Carter had a legitimate shot at it in 1978 for his work on brokering a peace agreement between Israel and Egypt only a few years after their last war — and didn’t get a share in the Nobel awarded to Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat for those efforts.

Actually, no.

...

Carter has long enjoyed a reputation as a Middle East sage, owing, of course, to his role in the original Camp David accords. That reputation, however, rests on shaky grounds. Truth is, Sadat and Begin had their deal worked out before ever approaching Washington. And the facilitators they used were far from saintly Southern Baptists: They used the dreadful King of Morocco and the even more dreadful Ceausescu of Romania! When they had their plan essentially worked out, however, they called the White House (whose occupant just happened to be J.C.) (initials not accidental, he and his most fervent admirers have seemed to think for years).

Why did they contact the White House? Prof. Bernard Lewis put it succinctly to Charlie Rose recently: “Well, obviously, they needed someone to pay the bill, and who but the United States could fulfill that function?”

Didn’t the opposition to Zelaya suspend the Constitution a couple weeks ago.

"Suspend the Constitution"? Did you seriously ask that? LOL. No, they didn't suspend the Constitution. He signed an emergency order, since Zelaya, who attempted to take over the government in a Chavez-like, and Chvez-backed coup, had snuck back in and was causing problems from inside the Brazilian embassy. There was nothing illegal about it and the parliament had input to it. Meanwhile, one of Zelaya's supporters (Arias) admitted that the Honduran Constituion was followed and called to change it, because he said he thought it was the worst Constitution on Earth. Even HE admitted that the Honduran government acted legally with respect to their Constitutional strictures.

Obama really chose the wrong side huh? LOL.

They are not fooling me, those explosions on the moon are not to look for water, they’re using those rockets to carve his face. So, we concluded he’s going to be the man in the moon. You think we see too much of him on tv now, wait until you have to look up at his mug on the moon every night. Better stock up on wolf-bane for those full moons.

Actually in Europe, democratic “socialism” has been responsible for states with extremely high quality of life, high life expectancies, sustained economic growth and high levels of wealth spread out amongst a wide range of the populace. In many ways socialism is responsible for the most happiness, prosperity and economic security over the last half century or so.

Somebody said above that they go to law school.

By golly, now I am so deeply impressed. Law school. Wow.

I always thought law school attracts people who can't get into veterinarian school and who have failed in the real world.

Gosh oh rooty, law school. I thought a JD meant justly demented.
