Quote of the day
posted at 11:13 pm on October 8, 2009 by Allahpundit
“Which gets us to the commander in chief, who directs the secretary of defense, who runs the Pentagon. The president, as almost all have noted—and for once, almost all are correct—has not distinguished himself in this matter. Afghanistan is a necessary war or not, we’ll see. He famously talked to Gen. McChrystal only once in the latter’s first 70 days in Afghanistan. He is meeting with advisers, considering options. Would that he’d begun earlier.
At the moment he seems a sort of anti-Lincoln. President Lincoln was early on damaged by Gen. George McClellan’s leaking to his friends in the press, but Lincoln every day was focused on one thing, the war, and took no offense. He knew what was urgent. For Mr. Obama, many things are urgent. But when many things are urgent, nothing really is urgent.”

Why does Obama need two more weeks to come to a decision? He’s been President since January…and Afghanistan just didn’t happen last week?
Crap or get off the pot…isn’t that about it?
American would be doing itself a great favor if America from this point onward simply disregarded anything and everything Obama says…about time he is put into a lame-duck posture by all Americans who believe in what our nation has stood for for centuries.
Get out there and convince all your friends, neighbors, family members and anyone else you encounter that getting rid of the Dem-controlled Congress next year and getting rid of Obama and the Dems in 2012 is the only thing that will save all of us from this amateur wannabe President the Left and the stupid foisted upon all of us….just so they could say “Well, we got us a Black president. Aren’t we so pleased with ourselves?”

Announcement
The Norwegian Nobel Committee
The Nobel Peace Prize for 2009
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.
Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.
Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.
For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world’s leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama’s appeal that “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”

This will be usd to ram his agenda through Congress. “How can you say no to a Nobel Peace Prize winner?”
And to ram through “peace” in the Middle East. And in Honduras. And to appease Iran and Russia. Adn to disarm the US.
This was also another slam at Bush.

The sheer insanity is that Nobel Prize candidature closes up at 2/1, while Odumbo was inaugurated at 1/20.
Which means he was a Nobel Peace candidate with less than two weeks of presidency. What a total joke.

Perhaps this will shed a light on just how ridiculous this “prize” has become. Looking back on who’s won this award in the past it is pretty much a bunch of liberals and progressives but to have awarded this to Obama, at this time, is an incredible absurdity.

He should be given a Nobel prize in economics for his fuzzy math about spending and taxation revenue

An award for what he MAY do versus what he HAS done. Incredible. Solidifies why the Nobel Peace Prize has become a total farce…just look at past winners. He’ll get a little milege out of this but it won’t last long, especially after the dollar totally tanks, we lose the wars, the economy doesn’t recover, healthcare reform passes and invades our lives/personal well being, cap and trade taxes us to oblivion, etc. etc. etc.
Think he’ll be under tougher scrutiny now?

From the Nobel website:
“The Norwegian Nobel Committee has received 205 nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009, of which 33 are organisations.
This is the highest number of nominations ever. The last record was in 2005 when the Committee received 199 nominations.
From the statutes of the Nobel Foundation:
Proposals received for the award of a prize, and investigations and opinions concerning the award of a prize, may not be divulged. A prize-awarding body may, however, after due consideration in each individual case, permit access to material which formed the basis for the evaluation and decision concerning a prize, for purposes of research in intellectual history. Such permission may not, however, be granted until at least 50 years have elapsed after the date on which the decision in question was made.”
(So I guess we have to wait 50 years to find out who nominated Obama but my money is on George Soros and friends)

It is silly. He gets the prize because he believes the same thing as the five members of the committee:
= America is bad
= Jews are evil
= Muslims have legitimate reasons for murder and terrorism
=Capitalism is a sin
=The West should give its money to the poor nations (except the rich libs get to keep theirs, because, well, they have good intent)
=American neo-cons are the devil
= Jews are evil (we say this twice because this is what BHO and the committee believe the most)

WWLD?
Pretty clear given the orders he gave to the Union Army:
Lincoln knew this war business pretty well, and the sections before and after deal with those in uniform acting as Partisans deserving all the treatment of POWs and those out of it deserving treatment as spies. There was no ‘gray area’ for Lincoln on that as battlefield summary justice was swift, certain and permanent. But then Bush could have learned a thing or two from Lincoln, too.
