Glenn Beck explodes at his media critics: Don’t you have more important things to do?

Why, er, no. No, they don’t.
Two clips for you on this slow news night, one from this afternoon’s GB and the other from this morning’s surprisingly charming interview with Imus. The common thread, if you’re looking for one, is what Beck feels his obligations are as a parent. And as a child, I guess: As hard as it is to believe, sniffing around his mother’s decades-old suicide has been something of a hobby for left-wing media lately. Let’s hope there’s room in their civility scrapbook for that one.

The whole Sandeep thing was really enlightening.
He said they’re moving from protest-based politics (which is what ACORN did up until now) to governing. He also made it clear that they’re manufacturing crises to pass their agenda.
You have to think about this – Obama not only has to be incompetent, he has to be the UNLUCKIEST man alive. Because none of his “mistakes” happen to do the right thing. He’s wrong on virtually everything — what kind of “luck” do you have to have to be that consistent?
OR – he’s doing it on purpose.

First of all, digging around for information regarding his mother’s suicide isn’t “criticism”. It’s intended to hurt him personally.
Second, we don’t need to be lectured on how to take criticism from a group of people who have marked every criticism of Obama up to racism so often that even some leftists now mock it.

Beck should know, as I think he does, that by complaining about it he’s simply feeding that beast. Maybe that’s what he wants ultimately, because it equals ratings, success, and money.
If he wants the left to back away, what he should do is keep doing his expose’ type work and not back down, but not spotlight the scumbag left when they spotlight him with charges, investigation, innuendo, and scumbag reporting on things like his mother.
He shouldn’t let that be the driver of his bus. Instead, he should hop back behind the wheel and drive right up their scumbag asses and burn some rubber when he penetrates their massive self important douchebag personas.

Glen said weeks ago that he knew they are coming for him and he was not happy about it, but he knew it and was ready for it. Anyone who has had a suicide in their family, as I have, understands the incomprehensible hurt it leaves and to have them pick at that scab is probably more than he can bear quietly.
The scumbags won’t rise to his challenge, PROVE HIM WRONG!, no, they will try to shut him up using his family and painful past as a muzzle.
I am so grateful for him and to him.

..the untold story here is that Fox put Imus on and — while he may be old news — he is very funny when he is on your side and he can (to a lesser degree than Beck) skewer the goofs and phonies real good. He used to just dump all over Kerry. Also, his sidekick Bernard McGuirk is an absolute stone hater of libs.
The conversation between these two former drunks is precious (and heartwarming). I am glad they are around to ring our bells once in a while.

A few posters have mentioned Beck’s “Moms” segments.
About 3 years ago, I attended an academic lecture on the enormous potential for a return to traditional family and American values, if and when, mothers, and women in general, decided that’s what was going to happen. The well-known speaker/writer, whose name escapes me just now, is fairly liberal. He was certain, though, that if women stood up and demanded a return to civility and honor, it would have a sweeping impact politically and socially. He wasn’t so certain whether this groundswell would arise from liberals or conservatives, –but com’on, I knew.

I don’t think anyone takes kindly to criticism really. The difference is in your response and the level of the criticism often drives the level of your response at your personal level. Basically, that response will vary from person to person based on how much it offends or irritates.
The level of ‘offense’ is determined by several things too, like subject matter of the offending comment/criticism. When it’s an off limits below the belt (aka typical liberal scumbag kind of brain fart) the response tends to be heated. Just how heated then depends on the person at the receiving end.
Now, if a liberal were to make fun and criticize my son’s disability and they were within arms reach, I’d end up in jail. I think Beck ultimately is a little more controlled. Imagine that…lol!
Still, I think feeding the sharks only brings a frenzy, but I guess as some pointed out, that’s his way of calling them out. They can’t criticize further without answering his response, and they won’t, so they look 10 times as stupid. Good strategery all in all I guess.
