More accurately, those are things you would like him to do. However, they are not things that he promised to do in his campaign, so they’re not at all relevant.

I mean, if SNL had done a skit where they pointed out that Bush had failed to offer a single-payer healthcare plan, had failed to prevent waterboarding, had failed to prevent Americans from being wiretapped, etc, what would that prove? That Bush didnt do things that he nobody ever thought he was going to do? What’s noteworthy about that?

If this was done for Bush, the points would have been about privatizing Social Security, achieving “victory” in Iraq, catching Bin Laden, etc. Stuff that people expected him to do, but didnt.

The point of the sketch isnt to say how Obama isnt being liberal enough. It’s to say that he isnt meeting his promises.

There used to be a time when media in general were known as the fourth pillar of government, acting as a ‘checks and balances’ against the Executive, Legislative and the Judiciary branches. Sometimes those old habits come out but of course its a New Dawn with The One. Perhaps as his halo weakens the media will revert back to its true calling.

You are overly optimistic aren’t you? The media in this country has always been left. Literally, they started before the revolutionary war. I haven’t read where they went to sleep with their forehead on the snooze button before, but they’ve always hated conservative views, chiefly views aligned with PERSONAL liberty and freedom.
