Perhaps the biggest looser in this debacle was Oprah. She is now firmly associated with the Obama administration. Therefore, anything the administration does will have have and impact on Oprah. The public will start having fun asking what does Oprah know and when did she know it, or what does the fine print say on those terms of accepting her gracious hand outs?

These are just the tip of the iceberg that is melting faster than the Global Warming crowd could ever imagine, and guess what, the sea level is not raising appreciably because the ice is simply displacing the water that already exists. Remember, your glass does not overflow when all the ice cubes melt does it?

Actually, what surprised me was how large the # was, given that it was the low score. With 95 votes and a low score of 18, the highest total in the first round could’ve only been 39 votes (95 – 18 – 19 – 19 = 39).

And that’s if the other two did almost as poorly as Chicago. I don’t know the actual vote spread, but if one got 23 or 24 and the other one got 27 or 28, the winning bid could have been… 27. Wait a minute, that scenario doesn’t even work. The scores had to be even tighter than that.

I just looked up the definition of rhetoric and according to the Collins Essential English Dictionary, the definition that most fits BHO’s entire ouvre is “2. artificial or exaggerated language: ‘there’s been no shortage of soaring rhetoric at this summit…’” Kudos to the BBC for getting it almost 100 percent correct.

I couldn’t watch the video, I can’t bear to hear his cadences.

If I’m gloating, it’s 1) over Chicago and the corruptocrats getting the shaft, and I’m very pleased for the taxpayers of Chicago – especially the ones who were so vocally against it. They must have peed themselves with amazement and delight over being bumped in the first round. 18 votes they got, wasn’t it? Out of 95? I wonder which countries voted for Chicago.

Oh, and 2) yeah, Barry, suck it up. It’s called defeat, and it’s one of those lessons that come in life. Welcome to the club of most Americans who have experienced it and learned from it.

What this proves more than anything is that Obama is a political neophyte. A savvy president never would have put himself in a position to be humiliated like this, especially over something as relatively unimportant as the Olympics.

Obama obviously continues to believe his own hype about his ability to sway people with his soaring rhetoric, even though it’s becoming obvious that this belief isn’t surviving contact with the real world.
