Palin responds to Steve Schmidt: Just wait for the book, chump
posted at 6:47 pm on October 2, 2009 by Allahpundit
Dude, it’s going to be epic. Epic.
A spokeswoman for the former Alaska governor said Palin is holding her fire until her new book is released next month.
“The governor will write about all of this in her book,” Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said in an e-mail, referring to the internal fighting that marred the final weeks of McCain’s president bid. “There will be plenty of time to talk about it then.”
I’m downright giddy at the prospect of high traffic and abundant content from November 17 until … forever. Maybe we’ll set up a little Hot Air book club, where I’ll periodically express my treasonous RINOish doubts about some of the things she says in there so that you guys can enjoy catharsis by telling me what a horrifying candy-ass I am. Two million hits a day or bust, baby. Meanwhile, Todd Palin’s finally upped and quit his job as a production operator for an oil company, which could be due either to (a) boredom and/or a desire to earn more in another profession, or (b) the fact that his family bank account will likely hit eight digits before Christmas. Enjoy retirement, Mr. P!

I shorthanded it with the / — but you know the spin that direction can’t be far behind this decision, because they fight, Todd sleeps on the couch, and I know it’s true because Levi Johnston said so, he did.

It’s just a hunch, but I don’t think you’ll have anything to worry about, Carter. I’d imagine that like most books on Amazon.com, you’ll probably be able to get a look at a snippet on the website to judge for yourself after its official release.

Steve Schmidt is another RINO’s RINO. He was one of those trashing Palin in the wake of the election, releasing false stories (anonymously, of course) about how she didn’t know Africa was a continent, not a country, called them Wasilla hillbillies, all sorts of sordid gossipy trash … all to accentuate the Quaylization of Sarah Palin.
They had already cast their lots with the Mittster for 2012 and wanted to destroy a potential opponent. But in reality they were no different than the libtards who smeared her and the McCain people stood by and let it happen.

Say what you will about Sarah Palin, she sure knows how to pick an excellent collaborator . . .

Why do I keep reading CNN’s comments sections? Why? I know I’m going to find a bunch of people who think Barack Obama is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and who also think Sarah Palin hasn’t the brains to successfully pick her own nose.
Seriously, people that blind to reality are not worth my, or anyone else’s, time.
And neither is Steve Schmidt. But that’s a given.

the problem I have with the term RINO is that it implies that there is something wrong with not being Republican. People should stop being beholden by party affiliations and focus on what really matters. For me, that primarily means fiscal conservatism. Government needs to stop wasting our money. Until the GOP gets on board with that message (in actions, not just in words) they do not have my support.

That’s why he’s trying to prevent Gov. Palin from getting the nod at the nominee, because if she does run for President, and wins, he won’t be able to do another Presidential Campaign until 2020 at minimum.

McCain had the worst campaign I have ever experienced in my lifetime and they are mocking Sarah, the person that brought votes to the ticket? Wow, they have a LOT to learn. If Sarah runs, she will womp her competition. Don’t forget, the Dems are split too and Sarah’s got some Dem support.

She starts selling her book, of which the 1st printing is 1.5 million (epic does not describe this), and goads this Schmidt schmuck to run his mouth about her and then…(oh this is so good)…then she sticks her devastatingly awesome rebuttal to his crap in her book, thus preempting his preemptive trashing of her and her book. Go Cuda!

Just a hunch, but I suspect AP’s taking a stealth second look at Palin, albeit a very tentative one at this point. But if Sarah is who I think she is, and emerges back on the scene as strong as I think she will, AP will be in her camp by the time next she runs.
AP, now your turn to call it wishful thinking.

Regardless of what revelations about the campaign come out in Palin’s book, I’m just looking foward to seeing PDS affected left wing types having hissy fits as the book becomes a run away success for Palin. Especially when you consider the fact that those bastards on the left and in the media tried to bankrupt the Palin’s and tear apart their family.

Every forum and blog needs a stirrer of the pot to keep the traffic, readership and commenting up. Trouble is, most depend on trolls to do that. Here we have AP. He performs that function and does it intelligently, reasonably and with moderation. Because of AP, we can minimize the presence and disruption of trolls, yet enjoy the controversy and keep the traffic high. I suspect MM had this in mind when she hired him. I for one say thanks, AP… and remember, as long as we have you, we don’t need too many stinkin’ trolls.

When a blogger starts swinging the troll-hammer a little too gleefully . . . well, that way lies madness. I have no idea what is in the book but after watching Sarah Palin over the last year I think I know what it will deal with and the tone it will take:
1)In any autobiography you learn of the childhood of the subject; in Sarah’s case you will learn that but I also believe she will tie that to her current political philosophy and why she is a conservative
2)She will not trash the McCain family but may explain the pressures that Senator McCain was under during the campaign and what he was told by his advisors during the financial meltdown
3)I think she will explain why she got into politics and give us some insight into her competitive spirit
4)It will be a happy, positive book for the most part; even her political criticisms against Obama and the Far Left IMHO will be laced with humor
5)She will present her vision for America and once and for all prove she is not a political lightweight
6)Yes, she will give side to the Gibson and Couric interviews and comment on McCain’s handlers. She may be critical but if she it will be strictly on a professional, political basis. I don’t believe she will take any gratuitous potshots against Schmidt or Wallace but just lay out the facts and leave it for the reader to make his/her own assessment of the various situations that occurred during the campaign. But one thing I think you will conclude is that Schmidt and Wallace and others on McCain’s campaign are RINO’s.
7)She will obviously discuss why she resigned in July; it probably will be a rehash of her 2 speeches on July 3 and on the day of her resignation but again it will be insightful to compare how she felt in July and how she sees life now.
8)She will discuss her convention speech and tell us if her teleprompter actually did malfunction during her speech
9)For political junkies I think she will provide some juicy tidbits on what goes on behind the scenes on a presidential campaign and how grueling the schedule can be
10)And finally I know Sarah will talk about God, the pro-life issue (Trig), the natural rights of man and the Constitution and why she believes her vision is the right vision for America
And for those looking for the book to be frivolous or scandalous I do not expect it to be. Sarah is as serious about the issues as Thomas Sowell, Victor Davis Hanson, and Rush Limbaugh are. The book will clearly show how intelligent and competent Sarah is.
