MSNBC moron: Republicans not supporting the Olympics is like Jane Fonda supporting the Vietcong

posted at 8:27 pm on October 2, 2009 by Allahpundit

An almost poignant moment here as one of the many leftists who spent the past six years wrestling with his schadenfreude over setbacks in Iraq finally gets an outlet to project his guilt onto conservatives. Truly, celebrating the fact that the Daley machine will have to find another trough of taxpayer money from which to feed is precisely the same as Hanoi Jane sitting on a VC cannon and mimicking shooting down American aircraft. Thanks for confirming every last horrible conservative stereotype about MSNBC, Ed. If they ever move the modern-day Murrow out of the anchor spot, you’re a shoo in.

Stick with the clip to the bitter end or else you’ll miss Jan “Trojan Horse” Schakowsky blaming the entire debacle on Bush. Click the image to watch.

I’m not watching, but I have to ask…

How does this blow-hard have a show on a cable news channel?

Yes, that’s rhetorical for MSNBC.

Enoxo on October 2, 2009 at 8:29 PM

no surprise that it took less than twelve hours for the Libs to start blaming Bush.

Red State State of Mind on October 2, 2009 at 8:29 PM

There are some ugly u-tubes out there showing people cheering when the news came in that we lost.

It didn’t reflect well on conservatives. I frankly don’t understand it.

But this kind of backlash is what you get when you make a big story out of a small one.

AnninCA on October 2, 2009 at 8:32 PM

hmmmmm…. Chicago didn’t want the “O” games.. and yet it is the conservatives fault.

alrighty then, the alinsky rules aren’t working this time.

Mr. Ed, the talking jackass.

ICBM on October 2, 2009 at 8:32 PM

The James Warren (ex Chicago Tribune managing editor) clip on “Ed Show” was instructive also.

Basically he said “Chicago was a LONG SHOT all along” and also “IOC was overwhelmingly old, mostly Euro, white, male, etc”.

They don’t even know who to blame…they’re just like a unmanned firehose spraying haphazardly all over the place.

aquaviva on October 2, 2009 at 8:33 PM

So, he’s a lib and he’s saying he doesn’t like Jane Fonder? The Vietcong were actually evil?? I’m confused.

I’m waiting for the spin that blames Sarah Palin.

Something like, “Sure we [the World] love Obama, but you Americans are so schizoid, for all we know you’ll elect Sarah Palin in 2012, and she’d be in charge in 2016,and she’ll be like having everyone read the Bible at the opening of the Olympics, and ban Muslims and gays and atheists and stuff. At least with Rio, we can be sure that Lula will still be safely ensconced for decades to come.”

notropis on October 2, 2009 at 8:34 PM

So, is he saying he’s OK with it, then?

Russ on October 2, 2009 at 8:34 PM

Truly, celebrating the fact that the Daley machine will have to find another trough of taxpayer money from which to feed is precisely the same as Hanoi Jane sitting on a VC cannon to mimic shooting down American aircraft.

Wait…I’m confused…I thought lefties are all about Hanoi Jane expressing her ‘patriotic’ political dissent. So…our laughter at Ogabe blowing his foot off to help Hizzoner Mayor Daly slosh some more pork around town is actually the same as that sweet, sweet Jane Fonda anti-American support of a blood-thirsty communist regime? So that’s good right?…wheels within wheels, my friends…wheels within wheels.

That is, of course, unless the horse’s ass is the infamous Mister Ed.

He’s always on an unsteady course.
Talk to Mister Ed.

And Mr. Ed will always speak even if he has nothing to say

GopherCon on October 2, 2009 at 8:38 PM

MSNBC moron

That’s redundant.

I’m just curious though. How is not supporting Chicago’s bid to get the Olympics the same thing as not supporting the Olympics?

We watched eight years of liberals and Democrats working against the best interests of the troops in harm’s way. We saw Durbin call the troops no better than the Pol Pot regime. We saw John Kerry call our troops stupid. We saw Jay Rockefeller agonize when to leak stuff from the Intelligence Committee to the NYT in order to help the Kerry Campaign. We saw Dan Rather fake memos in an attempt to bring down a President by false propaganda. The bottom line is that Democrats and liberals including the filthy lying coward in the White House spent eight years trying to tear down this nation (a legacy the filthy liar is continuing from the Oval Office).

For this reason, I can’t get too upset with those happy that the filthy liar fell flat on his face and his cronies in Chicago will not be able to use the Olympiad as an excuse to bilk billions from the Federal Government.

“ugly u-tubes out there showing people cheering when the news came in that we lost.”

No, AnninCA, that’s not an ugly youtube. Ugly is when planes fly into the Twin Towers and people on the streets of Palestine cheer. Ugly is when a liberal college professor, on the verge of the war in Iraq, wishes for “a million Mogadishus.”

Cheering that Valerie Jarrett and the whole crowd of Daley crooks and thugs can’t find an excuse to skim yet more billions from public and corporate sources does not make for an especially ugly youtube moment.

BadgerHawk on October 2, 2009 at 8:42 PM

Chicago, rot in your own vile, putrid stew pot. This is a victory on several fronts but to name only two: The beat-down of Obama and the Chicago mob and a denial of my money to fund the Chicago bail-out. I am so relieved. It’s an encouraging start to our take-back.

PaCadle on October 2, 2009 at 8:42 PM

No, AnninCA, that’s not an ugly youtube.

Sorry, to me it was ugly. They cheered. It was a conservative group meeting, and it really was tacky.

That type of junk leaves this Independent cold. It’s just ridiculous to so dislike the other side that even something like the Olympics becomes a moment for cheering that Chicago lost.

Debate it, fine. Have a few chuckles about Obama’s ego, fine.

But watching people cheer? Sort of undid a lot of the arguments I’ve been making, anyway, that people are NOT unnecessarily ugly about this presidency.

Again, I’m Independent and far more in the center than most here. But it wasn’t anything attractive to watch.

Knucklehead on October 2, 2009 at 8:45 PM

I’m in Madison. The fact that we would have gotten the biking events was being used as a major talking point in the County’s push for a rail system (even though we don’t have anything even remotely close to the population density required to make it profitable). That was reason enough for me not to want Chicago to win.

The fact that President Obama just pushed all in with a 2-7 off suit is just icing on the cake.

BadgerHawk on October 2, 2009 at 8:49 PM

Many of us cheered today when Chicago lost in the first round because it means that Obama’s cronies will have to devise another way to steal taxpayer dollars to enrich themselves. Ahem, let me be clear, Obama and Bride of Obama made the trip to Copenhagen to sell Chicago not to help the general population of Chicago, but to line the pockets of those to whom they are indebted.
What sacrifices they had to make to fly to Copenhagen on luxury jets, stay in luxury hotels and eat gourmet food. The taxpayer cost for their trips alone would provide health care to 100 families for a year.
Bride of Obama has obviously been coached by the best on how to appear open and warm. Apparently, even the best that money can buy can’t make her palatable. My guess is that Chicago lost the bid because of her pathetic poor-me speech.

Former Massachusetts governor and head of the 2002 Olympic Organizing Committee Mitt Romney says President Obama is doing exactly what needs to be done by flying to Denmark to lobby for the Olympics to come to Chicago in 2016.

Romney tells ABC News that having a sitting president make a personal pitch can make an enormous difference to the 106 members of the International Olympic Committee.

“I think the people in the IOC want to understand the level of the commitment of the host country,” Romney said. “Does the host country really care? Is this going to be a high priority? And nothing says that like having the presence of the leader of that country and, particularly, the case of Barack Obama.”

Romney says London won the games after Tony Blair made a personal pitch and Obama should do the same.

“The real embarrassment would be for [Obama] not to go to Copenhagen and for the games to be awarded to another nation,” Romney said.

First off, what is with the eye pops and head be-bops,
a person can get sea=sick just watching him,or Nancy,
or Obama for that matter with their side to side head
sweeps!!

So,Republicans are no different than Jane Fonda
spread-eagle,and poised on a NVN Anti-Aircraft Gun
that was busy shooting at F-4′s,Buff’s(B-52′s)and
other US Airforce aircraft!!

And,WTF,the Liberal Party are running the show, and
bipartisanship was dead on arrival after Obama’s
second swear in,piff,blame the RIGHT,-IDIOTS!!

This is actually a great spin, its beyond assine,
but hey, your watching a Liberal in action, and in
their world, up is down, and everything else is *ss
backwards!!

There are some ugly u-tubes out there showing people cheering when the news came in that we lost.

AnninCA on October 2, 2009 at 8:32 PM

Yes there were…

… they were from Rio.

Seven Percent Solution on October 2, 2009 at 8:57 PM

Were they all wearing shirts which said “Conservative” on them or are you guessing on affiliation? Get a grip.

Bishop on October 2, 2009 at 8:54 PM

Alas, the group’s name was on a big ole sign, with the word Conservative in the title of the group.

*arrgghhh*

They looked like a roomful of mean suits clapping for the failure of America. It’s on the Huffington Post blog if you want to go look.

And boy, the comments are ugly.

I know businesses here on MI lakeshore were looking forward to possible tourist $$, but the majority of us here did not want it to be on the backs of taxpayers.

ZeeMI on October 2, 2009 at 8:58 PM

Come on folks, we can do better than Ed ‘moron’ Shuster (is that his name?)

How about “Left’s support for the Chicago Olympics is like Bernie Madoff’s investing of grandma’s life savings.”

Trust me, no one would turn to you for help forming a coherent argument.

The fact that President Obama just pushed all in with a 2-7 off suit is just icing on the cake.

The filthy lying coward didn’t completely lose. The big story tonight and through the weekend news cycle is going to be what an idiot he was for jetting off to Copenhagen. It pushes the fact that one in 10 Americans is unemployed below the fold.

What we need to be doing is to connect the two facts. The filthy liar jetted off to Denmark despite of all the pressing problems he should have been dealing with. He was hanging out with Oprah and the international athletic set instead of caring about the economy, the GWOT, or any of the other problems he was hired to deal with. It is a gross dereliction of his oath of office. Elections have consequences, so too should treason.

highhopes on October 2, 2009 at 8:59 PM

this is going to be the first of several very negative stories about the “hate-filled” conservatives.

Nowhere near the first. And there will be far more than “several very negative stories” to come.

It’s been going on for years, with or without provocation, with or without ugly youtubes. It’s something conservatives have gotten used to a long time ago; and there’s nothing conservatives could ever possibly do to make the negative stories about “hate-filled” conservatives stop. Nothing.

I cheered this decision by the Olympic committee, but not because it was a slap at America as the lefties would like to suggest. As they well know, today’s decision was a solid, unequivocal repudiation of Barack (and Michele) Obama’s unchecked narcissism. It isn’t un-American to be pleased that your vain, preening, self-absorbed president and his let-them-eat-cake wife have been denied the spoils of their inglorious self-promotion. It would, in fact, be un-American not to applaud the repudiation of such tragic flaws in one’s political leaders.

Know what’s great about Hot Air? There will be more people leaving comments in this one section than watch this revolting pig’s show!! Gotta Love It!!!

Bishop: I bet those were orange t-shirts!!:)

I wonder if these are planted, seeded
Liberals posing as the RIGHT,because
so far, the Left has been caught doing
this!:)

Truly, celebrating the fact that the Daley machine will have to find another trough of taxpayer money from which to feed is precisely the same as Hanoi Jane sitting on a VC cannon and mimicking shooting down American aircraft.

What a waste it is to lose one’s mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is.
