Limbaugh on Chicago: “Who knew the Olympic Committee was a bunch of racists?”

posted at 3:38 pm on October 2, 2009 by Allahpundit

An easy joke but a good one.

“When you stop to think about it, folks, doesn’t it make sense?” Limbaugh asked. “Our president, Barack Hussein Obama, has been running around the world for nine months telling everybody how much our country sucks…. Why would anybody award the Olympics to such a crappy place?”…

“[Obama] doesn’t realize that the hatred for this country has not abated. There may be some love for him, but their certainly is no respect for him,” Limbaugh said.

“He doesn’t understand how delighted the world is to make him look foolish in order to take a swipe at our country,” Limbaugh said of the president. “We’ve got a two-year-old manchild with a Mars-sized ego, which today crashed and burned.”

The IOC’s rejection of Chicago’s bid was a “bitch-slap,” Limbaugh said. “Upside the head.”

Even Brazil’s president thought The One had it in the bag. Whether Rush is right that this was a message to Obama that anti-Americanism is bigger than him or George Bush or whether the IOC simply balked at the fact that Team Barry’s presentation was, true to form, less about nuts and bolts than about romantic feelgood Hopenchange nonsense, I think Jay Cost’s on target about what it means for the permanent campaign here at home.

I, for one, am exhausted by our new permanent campaign. That might sound strange coming from somebody who runs the Horse Race Blog, but it is true. The ominpresence of the Obama campaign apparatus is, frankly, wearing me down. I can’t get away from him or it, even in my down times. Watching the Office on TBS used to be a real pleasure for me and the missus, but now we must be interrupted by the President of the United States cracking lame jokes at us in the promotion of a second-rate comedian. There is no escape. And so it continues today. What should have been a story about Chicago – or better yet, Rio (good for you, Rio!) – is now a story about…Obama. Of course. Because just about everything in the public sphere must, must become a story about Obama. Because Obama injects himself and his campaign appartus/mindset/worldview into everything.

I was hesitant to place a bet on the outcome of the health care debates, but I’ll place one here. Sooner or later, the American people are going to say, “Enough is enough” with this constant, incessant politicking that is inevitably built around the person of Barack Obama.

It’s the person of Barack Obama that beat Clinton and McCain, though, not anything important having to do with policy. Just compare his personal approval ratings with the approval of his domestic measures. Can you blame them for thinking that the key to solving every problem is a big, bright flash of that thousand-watt smile?

Incidentally, I’m already seeing lefties on Twitter grumbling that The One’s opponents are “enjoying” today’s failure, as though it’s unpatriotic not to be heartbroken that a billion-dollar graft opportunity for Richard Daley and his slimy cronies — which even Chicagoans were evenly split on, mind you — got flushed down the toilet. The fact is, it’s only because the stakes for the country were so low and Obama’s ego so overweening that an “unforced error” this dumb can be laughed at. But keep an eye out for tut-tutting about it from the left, along with the inevitable blaming of Bush and playing of the race card in some form or fashion. The script is always the same.

The Precedent is a political suicide bomber, who is very happy to blow himself to bits, so long as the US suffers in the process. This is the personality we have in the White House. People had better start realizing this soon.

Sums the whole disgusting mess right up!

BTW: I think Chicago might have had trouble even without the Corruptocrat-in-Chief pimping for it. Strikes me as a logistical nightmare to get all the necessary venues, housing, etc. crammed into a reasonable space there, even though Osama Obama’s buddyroos were willing to sacrifice their properties for big, big bucks to make it happen. You’d probably have to move some events to Milwaukee….

In other words, it was un-American for The PRecedent to even think it was the job of the federal government to lobby for the olympics. That is behavior more suited to Indonesia or any other nation, but decidely UNAMERICAN. Take your Indonesian Precedent with you and go find a nation that is more suited to your collectivist mindset, which is every other nation on Earth. You people are not suited for America, which explains why you would foist an ineligible, un-American moron on the rest of us.

Meanwhile our men, and women in uniform are in harms way, waiting for some resolution from the commander in chief. Who is doing what? Licking his wounds over not being able to out speech, others, into getting an over bloated sporting event for their city. Hardly a national issue, in my opinion.

More, and more are without jobs. Struggling to put food on the table, and doing harm to their health, as they struggle daily to work thru the stress at not having a job, or money coming in, or worried if their job will be there tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Americans are scared to death their health care is going to be put in the hands of a corrupt, incapable, irresponsible government, and the price so high, a job won’t be enough to pay for it. Same with this crap, and trade nonsense.

All for what? To stroke the ego of a man, and woman who by all accounts, hate white people, and their own country, because their faces aren’t on the currency? To appease a bunch of former, and wannabe hippies, that smoked some weed, and saw unicorns their euphoria?

Frankly, I’m sick of all of this too, and I’m about at my ropes end with it. I’m sick of the whining from the left, the hate, and vitriol, the accusations of racism too. Look around you. Your country is falling apart, at the hands of the President. Not by accident, but by design, then tell me how much he loves this country? I’m concerned for my country, and am being accused of not loving it, because his ego took a punch today, over some damned olympics.

Well you can get glad in the same clothes you got mad in. I can too. So to answer all of those who accuse those of us, of being concerned at the downfall of our country by the hands of an angry man, who happens to be black, that continues to trash the people, and this country, I have two words for you.

BITE ME!!!

Ummmm… hit me this morning…

The Olympic Committee is a PRIVATE Corporation… the Chicago bid was a PRIVATE bid…

Why was our tax dollars spent to send both Barry, AND Michelle over there? Isn’t that using Tax dollars to promote a PRIVATE enterprise? and thus Misappropriation as I’m sure Congress did not appropriate money for this?

Romeo13 on October 2, 2009 at 4:11 PM

It’s the person of Barack Obama that beat Clinton and McCain, though, not anything important having to do with policy.

Not at all. Not even close. It was Shrillary promoting Spitzer’s licenses for illegals during the primary debate that killed her, and it was the MSM’s lying and covering up for the idiot messiah, the credit crisis and McShame’s moronic mishandling of a winning argument, along with huge white guilt and the thought of electing a Precedent that did it. This isn’t rocket science.

progressoverpeace on October 2, 2009 at 4:11 PM

Michelle Obama seems to be one of the main reasons Chicago lost the Olympics in the first round…her behavior in Europe was typical for her, coming across as spoiled, entitled, pushy, and arrogant.

Her remarks about spending more than $10 million dollars of taxpayer money to fly first class to Europe, stay in fabulous hotels, wear designer gowns, and hold court being “a great sacrifice” on her part really rubbed people the wrong way.

Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey walked around Copenhagen thinking they were gods, if not royals. Oprah pushed and shoved her way through events yesterday in a pumpkin orange dress, spending just a few minutes gracing IOC members with her presence, then whisking away to private events where she could be adored in a more intimate setting.

This and much more entertaining snark at hillbuzz

RushBaby on October 2, 2009 at 4:13 PM

Hell, and I though rooting for your country to not go even more in the red was patriotic.

Obama’s plans for The 2016 “Yes We Can!” Chicago Olympics have BEEN LEAKED. Obama planned on recruiting his best talent:
.
Tax Cheat, Tim Geitner to handle all things financial

Jailed Financier, Tony Rezko to handle all real estate purchases

Slumlord, Valerie Jarette to supervise construction of Olympic Complex

Billionare Puppet-Master, George Soros to buy up all the phony tickets

Ex-Ballerina, Rahm Emmanuel to choreograph the opening ceremonies

A.C.O.R.N. to handle athlete’s eligibility/registration

The New Black Panthers to provide security and assist judging events

V.P. Bumbler-in-Chief, Joe Biden to warn everyone to stay away from all the events

Fashionista, Michelle Obama to design all “Team U.S.A.” apparell

Rev. Jeremiah “G-ddamn-America!” Wright to offer the invocation

Shyster-Lawyer David Axelrod to announce events along with Olbermann, Mathhews, & Dowd

Terrorist, Bill Ayers to blow up the (fake) Olympic Villiage and other structures right after the opening ceremony

Truther, Van Jones to blame the explosion on the Bush administration

Al “Always-Blame-Whitey” Sharpton to organize inevitable win-or-lose fiery burn-Chicago-to-the-ground riots

No-Justice-No-Peace, A.G. Eric Holder to investigate the Bush administration’s role in the “War-On-Chicago”

Former LA Governor, Kathleen “Katrina” Blanco to declare state of emergency

Mayor Ray “Chocolate-City” Nagin to handle evacuation

Homie-Land Security Secretary Janet “Beware-the-White-Extremists” Napalitano to declare Marshall Law

Robert “Bagdad-Bob” Gibbs to declare the whole thing an amazing success

What could go wrong?

NightmareOnKStreet on October 2, 2009 at 4:21 PM

I’m with Jay Cost here. There’s been several times on Obama posts that I wanted to write that I’m worn out. And to tell the truth, with his signature presence plus his signature dissembling, it won’t matter if he turns the lights down a little, like the original Head and Shoulders commericial, I’ll see the dandruff anyway.

Also, as for “what it means”, I see a pattern developing of Obama being a big jinx. Everything he touches is a failure or an impending one. (Not all of it is deserved but a heck of a lot it is and it won’t matter because it never matters. It’s his watch.) He’ll always be called The One but if doesn’t have a success soon that moniker will morph to the the meaning “Pariah”.

Very little mention was made by the media about one Valerie Jarrett being with Lord Mayor Shortshanks Daley and Mama Michelle in Copenhagen; at least the reason why she was there were not mentioned.

Valerie Jarrett is one of Daley’s favorite political cronies and one who just happens to own a slew full of slum buildings in an area of the city that just happened to have been selected as the potential site of the Olympic Village if the city had one the bid to host the games.

Jarrett would have made millions off of having those buildings bulldozered over and the Village built in their places, while forcing the poor residents who presently live in those buildings out into the street and being forced to fend for themselves.

That is why it was truly refreshing today to see the look on her face when it was announced that Chicago was the first city eliminated, especially watching those dollar signs she had flashing in her eyes fade away as her face fell into a mask of complete and total shock.

Yes, other countries have always sent their heads of state to pitch their Olympic bids, but never super powers. Super powers have more weighty, life & death, world shaping considerations than fun & games, entertainment venues.

It is what was part of American exceptionalism, at one time POTUS was more than just another pitch-man selling Sham-wows!

–2012 bid: World leaders included British PM Tony Blair, French President Jacques Chirac and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

–2008 bid: After speeches by Vice Premier Li Lanqing and other representatives of the Beijing Olympic Games Bid Committee…

–It looks like all the other world leaders did attend the bids.

According to Huffington Post readers, the rabid right is to blame for the IOC dissing Chicago. The division in the country (which obviously is all wingnuts’ fault) is why they steered clear.

It has nothing to do with the Celebrity failure. It has nothing to do with the corruption and crime of Chicago.

uknowmorethanme on October 2, 2009 at 4:35 PM

And has nothing to do with gang violence and murder so common place, in the exact ‘hood where the venues were to be built, that make Chicago the #1 murder capital of the world. #1!

Can you imagine the national embarassment caused by the rampant havoc those gangs would have inflicted on Olympic tourists and participants. Dear god, we dodged a bullet (literally) with Rio gettng the games.

You love embarrassing yourself as much as your Precedent. The US has always been different from ALL OTHER COUNTRIES. We are the only individualistic nation on Earth and the US governmental structure has always been different from every other country in the world. We are the only nation for which parties are NOT fundamental political entities (they do not exist in our Constitution) and our structure is unlike any one else. You obviously don’t understand this and think that the US is some moronic party-oriented, virtual government without any reasonable separation of powers – like all of the Euro-style parliamentary systems that the rest of the world has adopted.

YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND AMERICA.

So, stop with your examples of what “every other country” does. We are not every other country. We are unique. We are individualistic. We are a nation that does not comport with your sense of how nations should be structured and follow the lead of others. You belong somewhere else. And please take your moron Precedent with you.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will be in Copenhagen to make the case for Rio. King Juan Carlos of Spain and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will be there, too, boosting Madrid, and new Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama will be on hand for Tokyo.

–So, obviously, every other country had their top honchos in Copenhagen, but we didn’t? And stop the personal insults.

as i posted earlier today,
without acorn and an 8-1 spending advantage obama is crap.

he isn’t over-exposed; obama was overrated from the start.

look at all he actually accomplished in Chicago as a community organizer and all that he accomplished as a state senator in springfield and as a US Senator in dc:

NOTHING.

ab so effin lutely ZIP.

as a leader, obama is a zero.

yes: he is a hardcore leftist.

yes: he is antizionist and isolationist.

but the key to his present job is the fact that he was owned by the machine and soros.

without their help – and the help of their minions – seiu, acorn ACT, CAP et al etc – obama is a zero.

a total loser.

No one wanted to accept that we all just hate the corrupt bastards that run Chicago and we were glad THEY LOST!

–Esthier, there’s a difference between saying Bush (or Obama) is Hilter (or the AntiChrist) and saying that someone commenting here is an idiot, liar, or should leave the country because they’re not a “real” American (or the equivalent). One’s not personal.

I wasn’t drawing a direct correlation but just talking about others who would abandon their own beliefs in morality when given the chance.

Besides, you’ve just done the same thing right back to him, saying you’re more of an American than he is. If that’s what you want to do, then fine, but you can’t then complain about what he wrote to you.

Esthier on October 2, 2009 at 5:07 PM

It’s President, not Precedent.

No. He was elected to be a precedent, and that’s all he is – The Precedent.

And I’m as much of an American as you,

You don’t seem to know jack about America.

and maybe more of one.

Maybe you think so, but you still don’t know jack about this nation, its structure, its traditions, or its character.

How long have you lived in the US, progressoverpiece?

LOL. Born and raised, unlike The Precedent. Why do you ask? Especially when it’s perfectly clear that I have a much deeper knowledge of this nation, and a much better understanding of our founding and guiding principles.

Then we’ll talk about who understands America.

Jimbo3 on October 2, 2009 at 4:58 PM

We’ve been talking about who understands America. You don’t. You worry about “every other country” and what they do. Go move to one of them and then you don’t have to worry about being in a uniue nation, anymore. Of course, your moron Precedent might take care of our “uniqueness problem” by destroying our nation and desecrating our values and traditions. But that is what you want, right? You think that the US is just like Brazil or Spain or China. You really should move. I’m telling you, you would be much more comfortable in a country that is that just like “every other country”. It fits your collectivist, un-American personality much better. And, as I keep requesting, could you take your moronic, ineligible, un-American Precedent with you? Please.

progressoverpeace on October 2, 2009 at 5:08 PM

I bounced around a few of the whiny lefty sites. Same crap: We’re all unpatriotic, blah blah blah. So absurd they’re not even worth linking. And here I thought it was un-American to label people unpatriotic?

Rather than examining why the bid failed, all they know is to lash out at the rest of us who are too busy laughing at the clown in the White House. As I noted on another thread, the media will stop talking about this by Sunday, so damaging it is to Obama’s ego and credibility. But if the rest of them want to keep whining and reminding us of Obama’s colossal failure, by all means have at it.

JammieWearingFool on October 2, 2009 at 5:14 PM

Not yet, but he isn’t even a quarter of the way through his first term. Give the man some time.

Socratease on October 2, 2009 at 4:38 PM

What about his unforced error of dropping the ball on the “necessry war” in Afgahnistan?

Or the coming renewed war due to his spinelessness re: Georgia & Ossetia.

On top of this our feckless Commander in Breifs has no doubt enboldened countless others around the globe, ie; possibly revolution in by pro Ortega/Chavez/Zelaya forces in Honduras, an atomic Iran through it’s proxies, who knows maybe will think this the most opportune time to start bullying Taiwan to rejoin the fold. Or I imagine that the Taliban & al Queda might see an opening to make a push for either Afgahnistan and/or Pakistan.

The ramifications of electing Sir Talks-a-lot are unending and the damage to our standing in various alliances cannot be overstated!

Defending yourself is one thing. Responding in kind is another.

Whether…this was a message to Obama that anti-Americanism is bigger than him or George Bush or whether the IOC simply balked at the fact that Team Barry’s presentation was… less about nuts and bolts than about romantic feelgood Hopenchange nonsense…

I would just like to throw something else into the mix. Contrary to the whining by the CNN anchor that this wasn’t “fair”, it was fair. The US has had the Olympics in Los Angeles (1984) and Atlanta (1996). Trying for them again, so soon after Altanta, is a bit much. South America has never had them and Rio is a world class city. I just think it was time for the Olympics to be in South America…their turn.
