Michelle Obama: I know people say it was a sacrifice for me and Oprah to go to Copenhagen

posted at 8:23 pm on September 30, 2009 by Allahpundit

I’m … pretty sure no one’s saying that.

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her “dear friend” and “chit-chat buddy” Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow’s visit by President Obama, is a “sacrifice” on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”

What, just because you’re forced to accommodate Oprah’s giant ego and listen to The One deliver another droning speech and make kissyface with corrupt Olympic officials and field endless moronic questions about how you get your arms so toned and, um…

Actually, dude? That sounds horrible. I salute the First Lady for her noble sacrifice on our behalf.

Meanwhile, back in Chitown, a nascent “give the damned Olympics to Rio already” movement is brewing, replete with its very own website. Exit question: Who’s responsible in the White House’s eyes for stirring up this subversive anti-American sentiment? There can be only one answer.

Sarcastic or not about her level of “sacrifice”, she reflects Barry’s preoccupation with self.

Who in the HELL cares about your sacrifice, real or imagined? You have a staff of 24, a security detail, blah, blah, blah. You have risen way past your level of competence. And you want me to imagine for a minute this faux negotiation is an imposition on you? With all the press and fawning?

How stupid do you think I am? You might be able to buy and sell people like me, buttercup, but that doesn’t make me stupid.

My SAT scores were 710 math and 676 verbal, boobie. Want to match that?

You are an ignorant, insular, narrow-minded, unsophistcated fakir of a FLOTUS. I could drag a 20 through a trailer park and find, at least half the time, someone who could understand how dumb they are and work like hell to learn the job better than you will ever do it.

Class shows. Always and eventually. You aren’t good enough to hide what you are all the time.

I’m sure that was their opening bullet point. “Not only are we a big city with all the conveniences of the Western world, we also have that small nation feel that will make the Olympians from the third world feel like they’ve never left home. :-0

Seriously though, if there is any human being that I loathe more than the filthy liar in the White House it is his rabid racist spouse.

Michelle is an indicator of narcissism run amok. I just wish she was bit more aware of herself, a bit more grateful, a bit more graceful and kind. If not, I just wish she would keep her opinions to herself.

Consider the case of Michelle Obama. She was raised in a two-parent, middle-class family. She applied to one of America’s top universities, Princeton, and was admitted. Of this experience, Michelle says on the stump, “All my life I have confronted people who had a certain expectation of me. Every step of the way, there has been people telling me what I couldn’t do. When I applied to Princeton, they said: you can’t go there, your test scores aren’t high enough.”

Which is all very moving, except that her test scores weren’t high enough. Michelle Obama is part of the affirmative action generation of above-average but far-from-stellar performers who were granted preferential admission to America’s most elite institutions.

Michelle notes that she graduated with honors in her major. Again, the problem is that her undergraduate thesis is on the web. You might expect that she wrote about Shakespeare’s sonnets or the political evolution of W.E.B. Du Bois. Well, no. Essentially Michelle Obama wrote about the problems of being a black woman at an Ivy League university.

Here is a typical passage: “By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desparation of their situation and feel more hopeless about a resolution as opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight.”

Alas, the grammar is all wrong here. More than once, the tenses are garbled. People are ignorant “of” the plight of the lower class, not ignorant “to” their plight. And “desparation” should be spelled “desperation.” To wreak so much havoc on the English language in one sentence, without conveying anything of substance, is perhaps deserving of a prize. Is this what her professors were thinking when they granted her honors? Whatever the Obamorons say, let’s remember that that these are not mere typos; they reflect an estranged relationship to the English language. Moreover they appear not in an off-the-cuff transcript but in a thesis that is supposed to reflect the culmination of one’s college career.

I used to actually like Oprah. I remember in college scheduling all my classes around her show so I didn’t miss it. However, I have really soured on her the last few years. Two incidents specifically did it for me:

1) This incident was when I first started to really notice that Oprah tries to normalize deviant behavior. She had some people on her show that were shoplifters and a doctor there to say that these people couldn’t help it because they had a “disease”. Really? What disease is that? I Can’t Help Stealing Shit Syndrome. She never challenged the doctor (who said they have “an impulse they can’t control”)…she was like..”oh, ok now I understand why people steal.

2) The James Frey disaster. When she called into Larry King (when Frey was being interviewed) and said it didn’t matter if his story was true or not, it was the message behind the story (or some BS like that). Then when the backlash against her came (for basically saying integrity didn’t matter)she had James back on her show so she could rip him a new one…to save her own face. She acted all disgusted with him for lying…when just weeks before she was saying it didn’t matter that he lied.

That was the final straw for me. Haven’t really watched her since. Besides…she has really become full of herself and really insufferable.

I think the children of Chicago are sacrificing and it has nothing to do with the Olympics.

Economy class, round trip tickets to Copenhagen via United Airlines, long security lines, cramped seat, smelly lav, insolent flight attendants, cheese and crackers, and $5/per wine would be a sacrifice.

The ever thrift conscious Obamas, each taking their own version of Air Force One…Not. So. Much.

I think it’s all wrapped up. Too bad, Rio is a better choice.

oh, yes, ma’am. I was just saying that. While working to strip a doctor who commits an inordinate amount of healthcare fraud, thus saving people close to a million dollars, I was saying to one of my coworkers, “My God, what a sacrifice Michelle Obama made to fly to Europe. Such a Mother Teresa she is. She’s the real hero in this world. Not the military, not doctors, not nurses, not teachers. No, no, no. Michelle Obama and Oprah.”

Then I got on my flying skittle-crapping unicorn and came home to my palatial 832940783 square foot home and ate bonbons whilst watching my 14 big screen TV’s and burning tires with gasoline in my front yard.

Okay, other than the health care fraud work stuff, I’m pretty sure the rest of that never happened.

What a narcissistic, self-indulgent, over-privileged, out-of-touch fool this woman is. And what a perfect match she is for Barry.

Don’t know about you, but I’m somewhat surprised that Kanye West and Lady Ga Ga wasn’t with FLOTUS and The Oprah on this historic mission.

Drywall has his own site, ‘Me and my moose.’

It has to be one of these. I suspect the third one.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of carbon credits cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
