Video: Hey, who’s up for another clip of kids chanting about Obama?

posted at 7:06 pm on September 28, 2009 by Allahpundit

Did Ed post this one already? I’m honestly starting to lose count of how many of these there are. No “mmm mmm mmm” in this one or creepy substitutions of The One for Jesus, but kudos to the teacher who came up with the “change has come” drone. Reminds me of “one of us, one of us.”

I already said everything I had to say on this subject in this post, so check that out if you missed it the first time. Fun fact: According to the YouTube description, this was taped at a PTA meeting. Presumably the parents were sitting right there. Must be a liberal district.

Call it what you like — Obamsomol or Obama Jugend — this gets more irritating and worrisome by the day.

A man with no track record, no verifiable history of any achievements, a man who has slurped lavishly from the public trough for most of his life, a friend of traitors, race-baiters, terrorists and crooks of all kind and a supreme example of a totalitarian America-hater deserves scorn, not adoration.

As far as I’m concerned, neither his skin color nor his “historic first” election mean a damn thing.

I’d rather the kids sing hymns of praise to Warren G. Harding.

Bill Ayers 2006 speech while visiting Hugo chavez:

I walked out of jail and into my first teaching position—and from that day until this I’ve thought of myself as a teacher, but I’ve also understood teaching as a project intimately connected with social justice. After all, the fundamental message of the teacher is this: you can change your life—whoever you are, wherever you’ve been, whatever you’ve done, another world is possible. As students and teachers begin to see themselves as linked to one another, as tied to history and capable of collective action, the fundamental message of teaching shifts slightly, and becomes broader, more generous: we must change ourselves as we come together to change the world. Teaching invites transformations, it urges revolutions small and large. La educacion es revolucion!

I taught at first in something like a Simoncito—called Head Start—and eventually taught at every level in barrios and prisons and insurgent projects across the United States. I learned then that education is never neutral. It always has a value, a position, a politics. Education either reinforces or challenges the existing social order, and school is always a contested space – what should be taught?

hepcat on September 28, 2009 at 7:19 PM

Urban,

My parents screamed about them, mother worked for Republican Party for 30 yrs, and I survived all the PBS indoctrination 70′s crap, too. It’s way worse now. I am paying for two kids to go to private school, and if I have to eat beans and rice for the rest of my life, the other 3 wont ever go to a public school. My daughter is now saying no school, period, only home school. Fine by me. I think I would sue the school for mental distress or infringement of rights or some other such stuff. Always nice to make precedents for our side. Not that you’d win in anyway, but a small punch back.

Village of the Damned Liberals

FreeThinkerNYC on September 28, 2009 at 7:28 PM

from the pastor who debated Christopher Hitchens last year and has a documentary of it coming out next month.

On Education, the Psuedo Savior:

“The answer give to this dilemma goes back at least to Socrates. If man is basically good, then he must do evil things because of ignorance. Therefore the savior for ignorant man must be education. The antidote to ignorance is teaching. But the contrast of Socratic thinking to the Christian faith is striking. In Christian teaching, man is a sinner and rebel, and he must be saved by Jesus Christ. In the humanistic faith, man does evil because he is untaught, and if he were taught more effectively, or with better-funded programs, or more progressive curricula, then the great savior — education — would straighten out all his internal kinks” (The Case for Classical Christian Education, p. 45).
