Why are right wing conspiracies always vast?

Can’t they be small, or medium sized?

Yes, I know I’m sorry. I couldn’t hep masef.

katy on September 27, 2009 at 11:33 PM

Vast right-wing conspiracy is a conspiracy first coined in 1993 and still exists today according to Bill Clinton. The phrase was first used by then First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in 1998 in defense of her husband President Bill Clinton and his administration during the Lewinsky scandal, characterizing the Lewinsky charges as the latest in a long, organized, collaborative series of charges by Clinton’s political enemies [1].

Allegations that Bill Clinton had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, and then lied about it under oath, first made national headlines on January 17, 1998, when the story was picked up by the center-right e-mail newsletter The Drudge Report. Despite swift denials from President Clinton, the clamor for answers grew louder. On January 27, 1998, Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, in an interview with Matt Lauer.

Matt Lauer: “You have said, I understand, to some close friends, that this is the last great battle, and that one side or the other is going down here.”

Hillary Clinton: “Well, I don’t know if I’ve been that dramatic. That would sound like a good line from a movie. But I do believe that this is a battle. I mean, look at the very people who are involved in this — they have popped up in other settings. This is — the great story here for anybody willing to find it and write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president.”

That dumb-ass reporter should know this and he should have hammered Clinton about it. Hillary knew the Lewinsky charges were true when she used the VRWC. The press should never let Bill or Hillary get away with using that term.

The thing missing from poor Bill and poor Hussein’s explanation for their abject failure…is that they have no precedent to show they are right.

These wonderful “progressives” keep selling old, failed, useless ideas as if such will work “this time”. With a failure rate of near 100%, why would anyone believe them? I do mean sentient beings, of course.

Maybbe that someone should ask Slick where his socialist ideas have been successful, and if they have, why will he not sign up?

If everything is going to improve on healthcare, how could a leech such as Pelosi not sign up?

Why not?

Why not?

If the libs are even losing Europe, maybe they should get a clue. First the European Parliament and the UK council elections swing right, now Germany’s parliamentary elections, and the Conservative Party is poised to gain control of the UK Parliament this winter.

Liberals are losing ground everywhere. It isn’t just here in the US.

They haven’t taken on the gun lobby yet. It’s just a matter of time. On a side note, I think the bags under his eyes get more and more pronounced every time I see him. Maybe he should consider botox….or full-blown plastic surgery….

Livefreeordie on September 27, 2009 at 11:55 PM

Former President Clinton obviously hasn’t been the same since his heart bypass operation a few years ago. Shortly after the operation there was speculation that he was suffering from “pump head’, a cognitive impairment stemming from the procedure and the effect of machines used as part of the procedure. Is there a cardiac surgeon out there that can comment on the likelihood that he is suffering from this impairment?

Mason on September 28, 2009 at 12:02 AM

Oh, and there’s this from The Times of London:

The polls revealed a predicted implosion of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), which, with 23 per cent, was heading for its worst result since the Second World War.

So the SPD (sort of the German equivalent of our Democrats) did the worst since WWII. I tell ya, the libs are losing Europe. Even Sweden has decided lower taxes to spur business development. The whole continent of Europe is moving right.

Must be a pretty big conspiracy.

Currently in Europe it is “uncool” to be a leftist. What are our Democrats going to do when their positions are laughed at by the Europeans?

crosspatch on September 28, 2009 at 12:03 AM

unclesmrgol on September 28, 2009 at 12:05 AM

The victim card is now in play. And, if a VRWC truly exists, it calls into question liberals’ notions about what’s best for the country. But, too, since the Dems are in charge of the country, the ‘conspiracy’ can’t be all that vast, can it?

Seems the term itself is self-defeating for liberals; they look bad no matter what.

Liam on September 28, 2009 at 12:06 AM

The central belief of every moron is that he is the victim of a mysterious conspiracy against his common rights and true deserts. He ascribes all his failure to get on in the world, all of his congenital incapacity and damfoolishness, to the machinations of werewolves assembled in Wall Street, or some other such den of infamy.

SouthernGent on September 28, 2009 at 12:19 AM

The republicans were in charge of all branches of government for the last 8 years? Really?

Wasn’t it just 4? I mean it was tied in the senate for the first 2 years of Bush’s first term and the dems took over congress in 2006. Plus even during those 4 years they only had small majorities so the dems still wielded alot of power.(Unlike now where they not only control all branches but have large enough majorities that the pubs don’t wield any power.) Oh I’m sorry I forgot. It’s Billy Jeff, no way any journalist is going to do anything like you know, point out it’s not true or question him on it. (I know, the last one to make that mistake got yelled at by him as he lied about stuff.)

Dave_d on September 28, 2009 at 12:19 AM

I seem to be a party of one so far but I think he was zinging Obama more than anything. He is giving all the power to Republicans for bringing down his numbers, when he knows full well it is not really that. I compared this to his Fairy tale speech and I still think he loathes the guy.

He could have spent the time focusing on all the weaknesses of the Republicans but he is almost saying they are diminished and still effectively bringing him down. There was something about his whole demeanor that made me think he was enjoying that.

Dollayo on September 28, 2009 at 12:33 AM

Clinton gave the game away *twice* in this short clip. Conservatives won’t have the same impact today as they did in the early ’90s because “the country is more diverse” and “the demographics have shifted” — Clinton’s own words.

In 1990, the white population of the US was roughly 75%; today it’s 66%. Democrats, along with hapless Republicans, have flooded the country with Hispanic and non-white immigrants, diluting the power of white Americans — the most conservative of the country’s demographic groups.
It isn’t enough for Republicans to oppose attempts at amnesty; they need to roll back the 1965 Immigration Act, or their power will continue to erode. Clinton is astute enough to understand that the immigration laws have been working in his favor.

tommy shanks on September 28, 2009 at 12:39 AM

Same old playbook. First, all problems were Bush’s fault. Then came the notion teapartyers are domestic terrorists, followed by racism motivating the opposition. Now it’s the victim card. Next might be Christians are leading the opposition, and God knows what it might be after that. Maybe they’ll retry the race card later on, prefaced by the accusation of a ‘mean-spirited’ opposition. Big Oil could be used, or maybe Big Macs if they push a fat tax or something.

All the time, Dems keep looking more and more silly, but they won’t go beyond their playbook because they can’t fully defend liberalism to a free people. That’s a sure loser for them, to identify what they really believe and want to impose.

AN A TO Z OF THE CLINTON PRESIDENCY

“You might want to put some ice on that….”

Seven Percent Solution on September 28, 2009 at 12:49 AM

I agree; it’s totally unproven as to just how “vast” this conspiracy is. It’s vastness, while apparently so dramatically vast as to require such a descriptor to reflect its vastitude- has yet to be proven whatsoever to even be “minute”- the direct opposite of what one would think it would be to be “VAST”.

So, again, I agree. It’s not in the “Right Wing Conspiracy” where we find the importance of what’s “really going on”- but rather in this clearly unscientific and entirely conjecture-based use of the word “vast” that is at the very, pulpy, beating heart of this entire issue.

ChipDWood on September 28, 2009 at 12:53 AM

tommy shanks on September 28, 2009 at 12:39 AM

Me thinks,Predator-In-Chief,is all We Weeded Up on sumpin,
and I think he’s a tad confused on the VRWC,its the Vast
Left Wing Conspiracy Cabal is the one to really worry about
that is attempting to transform America that Bill Clinton
will never recognize!!!

And since Bill and Hill are Liberals, who seem to be okay
at the Present direction at which Obama at the helm is
steering America to Socialism, they seems content at still
blameing the Republicans for their opposition to the current
direction, and are willing to stay on the political sidelines
and allow their own Politcal Party to keep sliding down into
the cesspool!!!

Maybe re-create 68,the civil-war battle within the DNC,shou
ld of happened, and at least, then, the outcome between HilRod
and ObamaVoterBot factions could have hammered out which dir
ection America could possible go,from a Liberal policy stand
point!!

At least,American voters would of had a heads up!!

Maybe then,if Clintons won the Primaries,it would of been,
Socialism Light,but then again,according to them,the so-call
ed VRWC was in play!!!!!!!!!!!

Winebabe on September 28, 2009 at 2:13 AM

I find it interesting that not just Bill, but the Left is pushing this line that Conservatives are shrinking because the country is becoming more diverse.

Quite a lot of unsaid insinuations and conotations there. Code words.

He made sure to push it at least twice in his little chit chat.

He also was pushing this overseas.

I find the whole thing fascinating. The deliberate push for mass immigration to disempower the indigenous populations of European and Anglo nations.

That looks like its going to turn out really badly as a strategy in Europe.

Have you no shame, fostering tribalism and resentment and villifying groups of people in this fashion?

How twisted and sick is the Western Left?

At least Bill Clinton can write his own material and recite it without dependency on a reading performance such as Obama’s ongoing limitations.

Just what, exactly, though, has so affected the Leftwing in the U.S. that they are quite so Leftwing as they are today? It’s as if they all had bad acid trips way back when and just never “came down”.

Further proof that the Dems make terrible ex-presidents. Not surprising though. In general, Dems get a good coddling from the MSM, so they think that everything they say is wise and important, when, in fact, it’s usually not well thought out and mostly hyperpartisan ranting.

Clinton is so far gone that his ex-presidency will obliterate whatever good could come of his presidency over the course of time and history.

The reason the “Right Wing” is so vast is because it contains the majority of the population, unlike the vocal left wing that is so much smaller that they must yell louder to be heard and given any sense of credibility.

The vocal left is a small side street on the road of life that everyone must visit, out of curiosity, and then renter the mainstream when their curiosity is fulfilled.

MSGTAS on September 28, 2009 at 10:12 AM

Bill Clinton lost his law license for how many years 5? because of a vast right wing conspiracy or because he committed Perjury? That’s like saying, The Devil Made Me Do It.

I remember who coined “The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” accusation. And she was forced to eat crow, when a non laundered blue cocktail dress surfaced. Does President Obama, really want to be related to or compared to this time period in the Clinton era? (There was proof of Lying)

This is dumb politics. I expect better from Bill Clinton unless he is trying to sabotage his wife’s rival or get even, for him being called a racist, during the Democrat Primaries. He does have a large ego and temper. That is one hot headed Hillbilly :) So either he is getting even or they have run out of ways to spin, and smear. They are going back to an old well, that they should have put the cover over, and piled dirt deep on. Monica Lewinsky, they want to remind people of Monica Lewinsky? The reason Bill Clinton was found guilty of Perjury. Joe Wilson just got done apologizing for calling President Obama a liar. They really want people connecting these kinds of similarities- dots btw Clinton and Obama? Really?

I have not the words to describe this blackguard and popinjay and martinet and scoundrel and cochon! (I got this last word out of a book called Brethren of the Coast–Don`t really know what it means, but I think it applies to Clinton pretty well.)

The Urban Dictionary has two definitions for cochon — one of which is “a cop in quebec, a montreal policeman especially” which would make no sense in this context.

However, the other offered definition is:

cochon 8 up, 8 down

Mexican slang from Chuco town meaning a person who has sex all the damn time.

What’s up girl, they call me el pinche cochon because I like to cochar many many women.

So, there you have it!

Well, that comment was a gift from Bill. What Obama is going through is not remotely close to what the Clintons went through.

Not nearly as crazy as Jimmy Carter yet, but wait until the syphilis kicks in.

Billy Bob had his fifteen minutes of fame long ago… I think it was when he was dragged to the pen to sign welfare reform and then tried to take credit for doing something that was good for all of America.

Before and since he has had way more than his share of shame… So, nothing new in this fallacious oral presentation.
