Video: Hannity interviews socialists at the G20. What could go wrong?

The perfect way to heal the rift in the Kirk Cameron thread: Surely the theological contempt we feel for each other is dwarfed by the political contempt we feel for these two imbeciles. On this foundation does the conservative coalition rest, my friends.
Actually, they’re probably atheists, aren’t they? Heart-ache.

Something tells me these two idiots don’t have any skills of relevance to the modern economy, but that they’re self-proclaimed experts in “people-run redistribution of wealth”. All that training I got in b-school about how to actually try creating wealth and these two bimbos think I’m going to just create it so they can redistribute it? F that. I’d rather watch them starve to death, then go back to business as usual.

This ignorance is mostly a manifestation of youth. I thought like that too when I was 20. They believe they are thinking clearly, when really they are not thinking at all. Why would anyone need to have more than 44K a year, she asks? Because hun, if that was the limit, there would be no modern society as you know it, and all those “poor ravished by capitalism”, would be dead of malnourishment for we would have the same economic system as the Third World. Financial incentive, be it $4000, $44,000, or 44 billion, is what creates innovation, invention, development, and progress, and by extension, health and freedom for everybody regardless of their own personal wealth. Ironic then, that it is always the “progressives” who never appreciate what it takes to actually progress. They believe they can live in the same prosperous, free and democratic utopia they now enjoy while eliminating the very system that makes it possible.
Only a kid could see the world like that and actually believe it.

The idiot on the left doesn’t realize that despite coming from a working class background, she has been able to reach the PhD program at Pitt. If she gets a clue, she will leave academia and make a nice living as a professional, once she realizes that capitalism isn’t so bad. How often in a socialist or communist country would that story be able to occur?

You know who we needed debating these young ladies?
Does anyone remember that attractive economist that Ed and Allah featured several times about a year ago?
Whatever happened to her? I thought she was a sure bet to wind up on Fox News or Fox Business. Sorry, I can’t remember her name. But I suspect that she could have schooled them.
OT: Greta interviewed a local reporter near the school where that creepy video was played. According to the reporter, the principal is claiming that song lyrics got sent home in advance to parents–and the school got no complaints.
Anyone hear anything else?

Twenty years from now, if her ‘dream’ came true, she’d be bitching she’s unable to advance.

These gals represent the finest in liberal thinking. They believe that through government and social engineering, human nature can be changed towards the good of society. Never has worked, never will. Even these tards, if they had money, wouldn’t give it up unless they were required to by the government. Not many rich liberals pay extra taxes.
Meanwhile, capitalism works because it appeals to human nature. We look out for ourselves first, and then if we choose to, we can look out for others. Capitalism appeals to our natural desire, we don’t need to have our essence altered for the system to work. This is what liberals can’t or won’t accept.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you two shining examples of the public school system.
Oy vey!
csdeven on September 26, 2009 at 1:20 AM
What we are looking at here is a complete failure of the educational system.
I found the rant about capitalism forcing the steel mills out of Pittsburgh, and the US, really showed the lack of understanding she has in matters regulatory and financial. The steel industry was destroyed by two main factors, environmental regulations and labor unions. The combination of these two factors resulted in an uncompetitively priced product. US Steel did not have any desire to be reduced in size at any point in its history.
Clearly, they need a substantial amount of education in the laws of supply and demand.
Another tidbit I found amusing was their lack of understanding between wealth and income. Hannity only asked them about income redistribution leaving the other question of wealth redistribution for another day. I guess he was feeling sorry for them.
Maybe after they leave school they will have a better chance to actually contemplate the basic things in life. ;-)
Freddy on September 26, 2009 at 1:21 AM
Gah, Hannity is little more than a bunch of shopworn slogans at times. He made a couple of good points there but damn, most of us here could have reduced those two socialist dullards into racking sobs within about 2 minutes.
The trouble with Hannity is that he needs to go away a while and do some proper reading. He needs to read some Rand, Mises, Hayek and Hazlitt. He needs to learn a decent repertoire of arguments and absorb the word flow which made those writers so persuasive and successful. Because from where I was sitting he came across as someone whose only saving grace is that he happens to be sitting on the right side of the fence. Let’s see someone who really knows how to debunk socialism, someone who really understands the benefits of the free market and who knows how to articulate them.
He annoyed me during the election campaign for the same reason why he annoyed me during that interview. So many wasted opportunities, so many idiotic points unchallenged by him.
I really think Hannity is under the mistaken impression that jabbing that damn pen at his opponents somehow makes up for the fact that what he’s saying is weak and ineffectual. He needs to put the pen down, keep his hands on the table and concentrate on making better points.

They seemed brighter than some UC Berkley products I saw on tube recently. A higher rated school…
Why did they believe the government was going to pay for private property breakage during the protests? If anyone did, it would be an evil insurance company or the capitalist landlord or business owner.
Why doesn’t anyone ask these types to explain exactly how the government creates wealth? And how governemnt employees work their fingers to the bone? And did they know that the poor woman who raised The One actually worked as a VP of a Bank?
IlikedAUH2O on September 26, 2009 at 1:34 AM

Freddy on September 26, 2009 at 1:38 AM
That was truly embarrassing, but those were likely Berkeley undergrads, anyway … not from “a PhD department” (LOL). It’s a real shame, because Berkeley is the best school in the world, bar none – both in terms of quality of departments and cost (when I was there, Californians were only paying around $700/semester, and they were complaining about the cost).
These two nitwits don’t even understand that there is a difference between public and private. They are really that stupid.
Questions such as these would be wasted on those ditzes.
Heh. They’d probably come up with some story that she was “working from the inside”, or that she was just forced into it by society.

This is kind of like that video a couple of weeks ago of the woman making her environmental statement at the Santa Clara City Council meeting. The visuals were the only mitigating factor that made the audio tolerable, since the woman had far more going for her below the neckline than above it.
So just turn down the sound on this one, and stare at the girl on the right’s chest. That’s the most edifying thing about the entire interview.
jon1979 on September 26, 2009 at 1:58 AM
Take away the motivation to create wealth and the result will be a lot less wealth created and thus less for them to redistribute leading to less money for everyone. It’s so obvious, why can’t so many Americans understand this?

Private property rights are necessary conditions, though not sufficient, for individual liberties to be able to exist. Our Founders were very keen on this, and it is one of the simplest, yet most powerful, truths. The natural economic system of a society with private property rights is capitalistic. Any other system is ‘unnatural’, and does not work well with individualists, who happen to be the most creative and productive people this Earth has ever seen.
Collectivists don’t care about freedom, since they’re all about group actions and thoughts. And collectivist can never handle growth. It always throws them for a loop and everything breaks down, horribly. Static worlds don’t need private property, since they never make any more than already exists.

I have no great love for the wealthy. It’s human nature that if you accrue a great amount of wealth you become an arrogant a-hole if you weren’t one to begin with…guess that’s how one becomes wealthy in the first place.
The way I see it is that the parasitism is a two-way street. They get what they can from us, we get what we can from them. That’s why I believe in unions (even though a lot of them are corrupt and suck). The wealth is out there to be gained. Some take risks and start their own businesses…some buy stock…others get elected to Congress.
Others sit around and enjoy the fruits of our labor courtesy of the Libtard establishment. You can tax a rich man heavily and he’ll still be rich. But these tax/redistribution Ponzi schemes always hurt average, middle class Americans the most.

Subtract a few years and these morons were sitting in a classroom in front of a socialist making snarky reamrks about conservatives, the US economic system and most aspects of this country.
Right now they are finishing 15 or 20 years of government subsidized brainwashing in the intellectual cesspool of a “major” university. Of course, major meaning size, not quality. And Penn State is no better, Pitt fans.
A few years in the future and they will be frustrated since their skills are almost worthless in the real world except for the lucky ones who manage to find a paying position in someplace like one of the two “departments” mentioned above.
This is what The One really means when he speaks of jobs for the 21st Century. Sean Hannity tried to explain about efficiently producing items that people want and reaping the reward for both business and customers but their only idea of producing anything has come from decades of living in a classroom dictatorship.

This is what college does to people. Ugh.
Honestly, I think most people are better off learning a trade and joining the work force right out of high school. With a few exceptions, most degrees are leftist social sceince bs that don’t enable people to do much of anything except hide on campus somewhere and spew the bs they’ve been programmed to believe. They’re all so damn bitter too.
But hey, if I paid 45k for a degree and was still worthless to 99.9% of employers, I’d be bitter too. Must sting to spend all that money and not be able to hang in the real world. Myself, with no degree, make more money in a month than those two fools will in the next 5 years.

I didn’t see it live but saw the re-run overnight.
One of the idiots kept referring to her first amendment rights. So, they believe in THEIR Constitutional rights, but don’t recognize the Constitutional private property rights of others?
Hannity was not on his game if he didn’t catch that and point it out to them. Then again, Hannity tends to just repeat hte same talking points over and over without really thinking of anything new to say. Mark Levin, he’s not.

Where and in what field do you work, may I ask? I’ve all but given up on being able to get any kind of satisfying or well-paying career based on education. What positions the greedy suits haven’t outsourced or automated are in danger of being lost as companies all over nosedive, many due to no real fault of their own.
I’m not afraid to work with my hands for a living but there are almost no trade-based jobs around here that are left…oh yes, and the apprenticeship system has been *totally abandoned* as a cost-saving measure. ‘Training’ is now basically putting a raw recruit out and telling them to learn it on the fly or get fired. I am not joking.

Actually… about 4:30 the green giant had a good point:
Sean: If you want to redistribute wealth, how do you get people to voluntarily give up their wealth.
green giant: You TAX them
hmmmmmmmm… that seems to be Obama’s strategy in a nutshell.
So… green giant, what do you do when people stop voluntarily paying taxes? (Appoint them to a cabinet posiiton?)

The solution is sooo simple. ask shorty if she is really committed to socialism. I bet she gives an unconditional yes.
Socialism requieres that if she is “workin” on a doctorate in engrish, every one else gets an identical doctorate in english. If she whines about it, tough. Every american is entitled to a Doctorate in english whether they can speak english or not. Even all her classmates are “entitled” to an A on every test or paper. she says it’s not fair for those that did the work.
Tough. Socialsim says nothing is fair unless all is equal. People that are sloppy spellers are also entitled to perfect grades. Grades are judgemental and the left callls judgementalism the un pardonable sin.

“Wouldn’t it be great if their kids grew up to be capitalist pigs?” , says the unrepentant capitalist pig.

Have you tried offering to work for a non-profit, doing whatever it is you do, for free? I’ve seen your posts on the difficulties of finding a job and my advice would be to just get something that proves you can do the job you were trained for in college. It’s not optimal, and you might need to pick up a second job doing something menial to get some pocket cash, but at this point in your work life, having projects and accomplishments to put on your resume is more important than anything. Given the outlook for the employment market, it’s not going to pick up any time soon, but non-profits are chronically understaffed in areas that require significant skills and also have “looser” hiring/employment practices than companies, i.e. they will let someone work for free, whereas a corporation will not.
This also assumes you can live at home for free, so you’re not having to make a rent payment every month.

A few places, but quite simply my interests are becoming more mercenary every day I remember my income is $0.00.
*hangs head in shame* Yep.
