The latest New York Times/CBS poll has some bad news for Barack Obama, although the two media outlets did their best to avoid it in their sampling.  He has lost ground on Afghanistan, almost certainly from his liberal base…

Given that, plus the fact that Democrats have heavy majorities in both houses and the support of the President….

Why haven’t they passed it already? Can’t be that they are taking their time to get it right, in July they were screaming “we must do this before the August recess.” Now it’s almost October.

Hehehe funny story… the local paper was being offered “free” in a grocery store a few weeks back. I told the lady offering me one that her fishwrap could not die quickly enough for my tastes, and that I would enjoy seeing her in the unemployment line with the rest of the human garbage journalists that have helped destroy this nation – and then I added that I felt she was the representative of jack-boot wearing statists draped in a red flag.

She just sat there stunned – looked like sombody punched her in the face. I on ther other hand, could not have been happier.

Made my day really.

I always smile when I do that. Partly because of the genuine pleasure of making the world a little bit better place. And partly because doing that makes the moonbats even crazier.

Important to keep in mind: These ROEs should not be seen in a vaccuum. They are merely symptoms of the “hearts and minds” disease that is debilitating our military and civilian establishment. They are also the tactics of choice in what Gen. McChrystal styles as “the struggle to gain the support of the [Afghan] people” (fireable offense No. 4 in today’s column). It isn’t our ROEs alone that are killing our men; it is the bankrupt premise behind them: winning hearts and minds as military strategy. Not to paraphrase George Bush or anything, but the fact is, They are already either with you or against you.

Isn’t that how he won the election, the little acorns were active in the other 7 states. wink wink! Honestly, does anyone believe that obama won fairly?

I often wonder if the only stooges not reading the details are deliberatly careless congressmen that are so desperate to pretend their clearly unpopular policies are what the people want, that they will latch onto any made up story that supports their unsupportable positions.

And to your claim that the NYTimes is purposely skewing the political leanings of the poll one way or another, they posted how they conducted the poll on the site:

It’s done more or less at random.

But, this poll shows the same result that every other poll out there has shown… there is public support for a public option. It’s not a radical left-wing position, but a moderate position with support of the majority of Americans.

Actually I saw an al-AP “poll” a few months back-it sampled twice as many Democrats as Republicans.

The other thing is that the public option as described by Obama and Co. in 2009, versus what the public option is meant to accomplish, i.e. drive private insurers out of business over time, decreases the reliability of any poll that doesn’t include a clause about the fact that the public option, in all likelihood, will eventually drive private insurers out of business. I doubt that would poll well as a description of the public option, but it would be the most accurate description, and the Left knows it.

Consistent from January 2009. Hmmmmm, what’s the significance of that?

It’s pretty common for Congress to poll low. Most people dislike Congress but USUALLY like their own Congressman (ie: they dislike everyone else’s).

However, when people connect their OWN Congressman with something they really dislike, such as Obamacare or Cap and Tax, as voting for it and going against their will, then polls like this take on an extra significance.

“Fifteen percent (15%) say most members of Congress are genuinely interested in helping people, but 74% say they are more interested in furthering their own political careers. These results have remained fairly consistent since January 2009.”

Consistent from January 2009. Hmmmmm, what’s the significance of that?

It’s dishonest to the extreme.

In other words, “business as usual” for the Left Stream Media.

Would that make the legislation better, worse, or have no impact?
