More right-wing rage: Rush runs over Al Gore cutout — twice

posted at 5:55 pm on September 25, 2009 by Allahpundit

And Leno’s audience goes wild. I’m afraid to check Technorati for what I might find in the way of deep nutroots thinkin’ about the “climate of violence” created here, but there’s no avoiding big media, alas. I fear we’re in for a very special Frank Rich column indeed this Sunday, my friends.

First clip is the Goracle hit-and-run, second and third are Limbaugh’s chummy two-part chat with Jay. He’s posted the transcript in case you prefer skimming to watching. Quote:

I’m saying we’ve got enough mistakes the federal government’s run. We don’t need to compound it with more programs. I just believe the market will take care of it. Most of the people in this country are very happy with the health coverage, the health treatment that they get. There’s no reason to turn it all upside down. And all this is being done — Jay, I’ll tell you what really worries me about it. Forget the intricacies of health care. If the government gets control of health care, that’s the single best way that they get to control every aspect of our lives: what we eat, what we drive — because it will all have impact on health care costs, their responsibility via our taxes, and it’s just a mechanism whereby government grows and grows and grows and we lose liberty and freedom to it. And that’s what the problem with nationalized health care is. (applause)

Exit question: Racist or not?

Obviously racist. And I was amazed at how loudly the crowd was cheering, both during the interview and the Goracle SmashFest. They must be racists, too.

rush was great

always good to expose him to a bigger audience

today on his show rush lamented “when he asked about wall street having too much money I WISH I would have said ‘jay how many CARS do you need?’ “

DO they use a laugh track on that show? I watched it and the audience was LOVING Rush! I thought they would just be polite, but they were cheering like crazy when Rush was making some very conservative points. He was great!

Ampersand on September 25, 2009 at 6:02 PM

I love the part where he ran over Al Gore…and then threw it into reverse to run him over again. Classic.

Best Leno Show EVER!
Mega Dittos Rush Limbaugh!!

cubachi on September 25, 2009 at 6:02 PM

This was pretty good, and credit to Leno for at least having him on… But I have to say, compared to the howling liberal crowds we usually see at this show, the amount of cheering for Limbaugh and his ideas was… odd. Nothing wrong with it, but I’ve got to believe the Dittoheads showed up incredibly early to make sure they could stack the audience.

RightWinged on September 25, 2009 at 6:02 PM

Man…does Rush look fit or what?

Good for him.

The Ugly American on September 25, 2009 at 6:03 PM

Leno tries to be decent but he just can’t help himself with the “corporations just make too much” mantra.

Rush should have reminded Leno that he wouldn’t have a show if there weren’t big, successful corporations buying ad time. No show, no paycheck.

cindy, monica, and Mr Scrib,
Begley may be quirky, but its his free choice to live that way, he forces no one and he isn’t a total pantload like Al Gore. On a side note Leno would make a good professor, he offers counterpoints and makes the person he is talking to offer a response, the other set of pantloads who tend to interview politicians and opinion makers should watch that clip for pointers.

And there is the difference between Rush and the rest of us and why he remains so popular after all these years. He knows the limits of acceptability and when to stop. He only ran over Gore 2X. He made his point without going overboard. Whereas I would have done it multiple times, and then gotten out of the car, set the cutout on fire, and then p**sed on the ashes.

yobobbyb on September 25, 2009 at 6:26 PM

Thank god Rush cut off the bad looking ponytail and seems to be losing weight. Every year longer he lives, libtards become more unhinged by him.

Hmmm.

fourdeucer on September 25, 2009 at 6:28 PM

Was that a cardboard cut out ?? Or really him ??

It’s hard to tell really, Al Bore is as exciting as plain wallpaper, the cardboard cut out was more full of life than the real Al Bore.

cableguy615 on September 25, 2009 at 6:30 PM

I watched this live and couldn’t believe that Leno actually had the gonads to bring up the issue of Wall St. pay.

Rush should have asked him if he bargained for LESS pay on the contract for his new show or for more….what an ass!! This coming from a guy who owns over 100 cars worth millions of dollars.

I guess in Leno’s world it’s OK to make as much as he does, but if you make more than that, you’re greedy and the government needs to control what you make.

AZ_Mike on September 25, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Rush is looking good.

An interesting comment after the test drive was “This is an electric car?”

Most people don’t realize how much power electric drive trains are capable of! They’re usually capable of much higher torque and greater acceleration than ICE based drive trains…

…problem is… charging the battery. It takes too long right now.

I met Begley at a banquet for a “green” cause (got a free ticket and the food was good!) a few years ago. Nice, sincere guy. It’s not possible to diss someone who lives according to his beliefs and doesn’t throw them in your face. He tries to lead by example.

BTW — I was amused to see all the “green” celebrities who showed up at that shindig in their Lexus SUVs, Hummers, Maybachs, etc. Lots of Priuses, too, but the license plates indicated that most had been borrowed from Toyota. After seeing them, I didn’t feel as bad about the Land Rover I happened to be driving at the time!

FIVE: Honor Me instead of your father and your mother especially if they don’t believe in Global Warming.
