The obligatory “Ed Schultz goes bonkers over health care” post

posted at 4:45 pm on September 24, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Short but, er, extremely sour from MS-NBC’s new leading intellectual light. Honestly, though, this is Ed Schultz. Even on the radio, Schultz gets lunatic.  The difference between that and this is that we get to see his face as he flips his lid, accusing Republicans of enjoying it when people die.  No, seriously:

Hold it right there!  The Republicans lie.  They want to see you dead!  They’d rather make money off your dead corpse!  They kinda like it when that woman has cancer and they don’t have anything for her!

The best thing about an Ed Schultz clip?  We get to use exclamation points.  If you thought Keith Olbermann was the embodiment of Howard Beale, Schultz makes Olbermann look like Charlie Rose or Jim Lehrer in comparison.  Even the late Billy Mays didn’t work this hard at his pitch.

As far as the substance of the clip goes — what little there is — I seem to recall that Republicans wanted to abolish the death tax, and Democrats objected.  Which party wants to make money off of your dead corpse?

Can I assume correctly that his practically non-existent show competes directly in the time slot with a Mr. Glenn Beck? Oh well, anything that involves him staying fully clothed is alright by me. Setting his hair on fire might be a nice gig for Friday’s show.

MM wrote a book about the Left being Unhinged. Looks like we need an updated version. She’ll have no problem finding material with the likes of Ed Schultz.

conservative pilgrim on September 24, 2009 at 6:16 PM

btw-Did you know that Schultz used to do the sports in Fargo, North Dakota about 20+ years ago? He was pretty crappy at that too.

conservative pilgrim on September 24, 2009 at 6:19 PM

Just yesterday (or maybe it was Tuesday) Joe Scarborough was demanding that Republican public officials – specifically Mitt Romney – be asked to denounce publicly the inflammatory language of Glenn Beck.

And, as if on cue, here’s comes Sgt. Schultz.

Well, Joe, the floor is yours.

I love the smell of a good liberal melt down in the afternoon. These lunatics wonder why you can count their audience on one hand. Garafolo, Penn, Belefonte, Moore and Streisand pretty much make up MSNBC’s audience. How on earth do they sell air time there?

True. Dennis Miller is sort of the exception. People couldn’t stand him as a sportscaster. He’s a nice guy though.

I know he had a gig for awhile on MNF a novelty thing ,like when Rush was on for awhile…but he was never actually a sportscaster as far as i know.

Miller was a comedian and did SNL for a couple of seasons. He got the MNF gig on a career detour and didn’t do so well. He still does comedy, some cameos in movies, and now his daily radio show.

And I thought only the Schultz family watched dad on TV. We’ve apparently come full circle from self publishing to self network broadcasting.

Note to the Ed Schulz Jr./camera guy, a little more than 6 inches between the camera and your dad’s head would be appreciated. I about vomited in my beer last night when he leaned forward.

MSNLSD should offer the show in 3D as a mixed genre, political-horror/comedy show.

balkanmom2 on September 25, 2009 at 7:57 AM

Liberal democrats are shrill and loud. You notice when they “discuss” or “debate” with a conservative/republican that they try to talk over, distract from the subject, and resort to name calling and insults in order to not have to answer a question. Or you have fruitcakes like this guy and Olberman who go for the shock factor by making outrageously stupid statements.
