School-indoctrination video retrieved!

posted at 12:15 pm on September 24, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Yesterday, Allahpundit wrote about this creepy attempt at indoctrination at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington Township, NJ, but Michelle wrote this morning that the June 2009 video had been removed from YouTube.  I kicked myself for not having captured it when I had the chance, but I also figured someone else would have done so.  It turns out that I was right, and I found the video of children singing a song to their dear leader on another YouTube channel:

Oops!  Sorry, wrong Dear Leader, wrong indoctrination song. Here’s the one we want, but I also want to point out more creepiness in the song:

Allahpundit noted the reference to the hymn, “Jesus loves the little children,” which might be more suitable for a Sunday school class in homage to the Lord rather than a public school performance in honor of The One. The trouble is not just the lifting of the lyrics but the fact that the new song heralds Obama as some sort of deity figure:

Barack Hussein Obama
He said Red, Yellow, Black or White
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!

“In his sight”? That sounds rather … Biblical, doesn’t it? It’s language almost exclusively used in religious contexts, especially when it comes to human equality. After all, the point is not whether people are equal in the sight of Gracie Lou Freebush of Hackensack, but in the eyes of an Almighty, whom most people acknowledge as Creator.

Having children chant about Obama as if he were a deity is what leads eventually to the kind of conditions depicted in the first clip. I don’t mean that as an accusation that Obama wants that, but it’s that kind of cult of personality that creates conditions for political disasters like fascism and dictatorships. People who think of themselves as free citizens and politicians as public servants should be embarrassed by this kind of worship — and the parents of these children should be at the school today demanding an accounting for the cult-like indoctrination attempted by these administrators.

Note: Please do not post contact information for the school or the teachers in the comments.  Any such posts will be deleted immediately.  Let the parents handle the situation; as conservatives, we should be supportive of local control.

For anyone in need of a palate cleanser after watching that propaganda, here is a YouTube post of Red Skelton’s Story of our Pledge of Allegiance which has often been shown by Congress AND SHOULD BE SEEN IN EVERY SCHOOL IN AMERICA

NightmareOnKStreet on September 24, 2009 at 4:14 PM

I’m surprised it was the song Jesus loves the little children that upset AP when the Battle Hymn of the Republic is the one that really creeped me out. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord… Granted they changed the words but that song in any way associated with Obama is horrifying. Glory glory Halleluia… SCARY!

pannw on September 24, 2009 at 4:26 PM

Over my dead body would my child participate in anything like that.

If any school had done this with Bush the whole country would have come to a stand still.

Unfrigginbelievable.

Niere on September 24, 2009 at 4:57 PM

I have a question nobody else is asking as far as I can see.

What were they doing in school in July? Do they have year round school there?

Bleed_thelizard on September 24, 2009 at 5:01 PM

They’re not only teaching them to worship the One but they also teaching socialism. Equal work for equal pay. I wonder what that big screen behind them is for – a huge picture of the One to sing in front off… A stretch but hwo the heck knows anymore.

Now gotta go watch Glenn. :)

Annie on September 24, 2009 at 5:02 PM

To me, lifting a melody from a hymn had to be intentional.

DINORight on September 24, 2009 at 3:54 PM

Maybe they were actually repenting their former violent right-wing extremist ways.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school.
We have tortured every teacher, we have broken every rule.
We have crucified the principal as a dirty rotten rat.
Our truth goes marching on!

Glory, glory hallelujah!
Teacher hit me with a ruler.
I popped her on the bean
With a rotten cocoa bean
And she ain’t my teacher no more.

C’mon, I can’t be the only one who sang that in elementary school… granted, not on school time…

malclave on September 24, 2009 at 5:05 PM

C’mon, I can’t be the only one who sang that in elementary school… granted, not on school time

Very similar version was sung around here Minor changes to the lyrics.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school.
We have tortured every teacher, we have broken every rule.
We are marching down the corridor to hang the principal
His truth goes marching on!

Glory, glory hallelujah!
Teacher hit me with a ruler.
I hit her off the bean
With a rotten tangerine
His truth goes marching on!

I remember the song “Jesus Loves The Little Children” from Catholic school-which I attended in the 70′s, but they are still stuck in my head. The lyrics to that song are similar to the one in the video to Dear Leader:

Jesus loves the little children
All Little children of the world
They are yellow, black and white
They are precious In His Sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

This frightens me. Every American needs to see this.

margategop517 on September 24, 2009 at 5:21 PM

Shouldn’t they have used the theme to the Horst Wessel Song?

profitsbeard on September 24, 2009 at 5:21 PM

The version at my elementary school went:
I hit her in the butt
With a rotten coconut
And my teacher don’t teach no more.

The school’s press release states that this was filmed during Black History Month.

(Coincidentally, the shortest Month of the Year- clearly picked on purpose for that by those racists in Congress!)

On top of Old Smokey,
All covered with sand,
I shot my poor teacher
With a red rubber band.

I did it with pleasure,
I did it with pride,
I couldn’t have missed her,
She’s forty feet wide.

Ah, memories… though you’ve gotta understand that we have teachers in every generation of my family, so we collect these timeless ditties. ;-)

Mary in LA on September 24, 2009 at 5:27 PM

Ours was..

Glory Glory Hallelujah
Teacher Hit me with a ruler
Met her at the door
With a loaded 44
She ain’t my teacher no more.

Thats a bit more scary now than it was in the 60′s.

OMIGOD, I am SO GLAD I secretly sent in scholarship money for my niece’s daughter to go to a private school. I was talking to my niece last night and she mentioned how excited she was the school found a scholarship for her kid (both parents have had it VERY ROUGH in this Michigan economy and now they have to live with my niece’s parents right now, complete with their 3 kids). My niece especially mentioned how glad she was she didn’t have to address the obama telecast on the first day of school.

We have GO TO GET SCHOOL CHOICE for all kids in America. The far left libs have taken over the public schools. We need to free the next generation from indoctrination.

karenhasfreedom on September 24, 2009 at 5:39 PM

Also this one..

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school.
We have tortured every teacher, we have broken every rule.

Obama might as well have Living Colour do a cover of their song, “Cult of Personality”.

islandman78 on September 24, 2009 at 5:52 PM

What? They didn’t set the song to “The Internationale”?

If I had kids in this school, or any school that did something like this, they’d be outta there the next day.

Unfreakingbelievable.

NoLeftTurn on September 24, 2009 at 5:55 PM

I repent of having said that Obama’s school speech was no big deal. This is a reminder of why it could have been a big deal if people hadn’t jumped on it. Some teacher actually didn’t think that this bit of political indoctrination was a bad idea. It is one thing to teach children to respect the Presidency, to note the historic importance of an African-American President, etc. Quite another to force the kiddies to chant leftist slogans.

Buddy of mine in Columbia, MD says his 3-year old daughter came home from pre-pre-school (PRE-PRE-SCHOOL!) singing some BHO anthem. The chorus went, Obama! Obama! Obama!

This is no isolated incident.

karenhasfreedom on September 24, 2009 at 5:39 PM

I keep saying this to anyone who will listen. The issue of school choice would split key Democrat constituencies right down the middle. If the GOP would become major champions of school choice, the Donks would have to either throw the teacher’s unions under the bus, or kiss part of their loyal black constituency good-bye. Talk about a no-brainer wedge issue for the GOP!!! Come on! And school choice has a track record of improving schools by introducing competition (nice conservative idea, that), and doesn’t cost much to implement. Low hangin’ fruit folks.

Yeah, well at least she is aware of the snow job the left is doing on everyone by watching the news, etc, that she lets us know these things are going on. Poor kid, she was called racist for not being an Obama supporter during the election last year, and now this. Fortunately, she doesn’t let it bother her, and stands up for her beliefs. And to think, it’s mild here compared to many places!

Baier just reported that the president of the PTO for the school said that she was “numb” when she saw the video.

Apparently, that school may have some problems because it sounds as if parents weren’t told what is going on in their children’s school.

BuckeyeSam on September 24, 2009 at 6:33 PM

It’s very simple. Wherever the name ‘God’ is deleted, it will be replaced by ‘Obama’.

‘Obama of our fathers…..’
‘Holy Holy Holy! Lord Obama Almighty’.
‘In Obama we trust’
‘I swear to tell the truth…..so help me Obama’.
‘Sieg Heil Mein Fuhrer Obama’ oops wrong country but the same intent.

The unionized teachers want to continue to brainwash and hoodwink the malleable young mind so they will continue to vote Democrats tofeed Big Education and leftist causes.

They want to succeed with that until they had one or two voting cycles while they are in college. Thereafter some may wise up after they have a job, responsibility and family. But by then there will be another crop of young fools.

There should be a white history month. The point is to separate everybody down to a “group” so that nobody is special. Then maybe we can get beyond this forced diversity crap and get on with treating everybody the same. I hereby propose that October as Euro-Centric appreciation month since Columbus Day falls in the month and no notable civil rights martyr or female hero was born during the month.

I remember a song from my youth that went…

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.

Throw the teacher overboard and listen to her scream.

Five days later floatin’ down the Delaware, chewin’ on her underwear, couldn’t afford another pair.

Six days later bitten by a polar bear and that’s how the OLD BAT DIED.

The last bit was to be sung as loud as you thought you could sing it and not attract the attention of the recess teacher or one of her tattletale minions.

These are the real versus.

My Country Isn’t Free
We Sold our Liberty
Straight to the DNC
Land Where the Commies Lied
Land Where our Children Died
The Men on the Mountainside
Hail the PRC!

My Fellow Countrymen
Once of the Noble Tree
Thy be Enslaved
We Worship Hope and Change
Thy TOTUS and Templed Pecs
I feel this thrill up a leg, Just Like Tweety

The Voters rue the Day
When they flocked all to Your
Sweet Siren’s Call
Let Smart Power work
Let all that Anger Fade
Let clenched fists unclench
His Voice goes on

Your Father Lied to You
Authored in Tyranny
We could not see
Long will we toil and cry
With Freedom outta sight
Oppress us by Thy thugs
We Shall Be Free

I do remember a lot of songs we sang in elementary school, so it says a lot about what they want to stick in kids minds.

One of my favorite songs:
Pumpkin pie Pumpkin pie
come and buy my pie
Pumpkin pie Pumpkin pie
won’t you buy my pie

Can’t remember what grade it was but I’m sure it was a vailed attempt to indoctrinate me with the virtues of capitalism and sales promotion! :-)

I’nm sure this has been noted… but i thought using “Hussein” was verbotten and a sure sign of racism?

I saw this video yesterday. Just disgusting!

There seem to be people who want to turn the Obama fascination into a full fledged cult. What they don’t realize is how foolish they will look when the man loses the election in 2012.

Fascism is not about to happen in America.

It has happened.

It’s here; it’s now.

I was always of the opinion that the first American fascist was TR, Wilson or FDR.

I gotta say, in my inebriated state, that Fascism as I understand it is more or less some funky hybrid of state run and privately run capitalism. Right?

Assuming that definition, then yeh, we gots that here. If ‘fascism’ is simply a matter of the state picking and choosing winners and losers, shoot we’ve perfected that.

If you think about it, fascism is like the grammar school for your more, full-bore collectivist nuttiness.

It’s probably the booze talking though. 101 is no joke whiskey.

I’m going back to the darkness where I belong.
